Chapter One:
(Run... run... run...)
Narrator (soft, low voice):
Someone's there... strange-looking.
What is he doing out here at this hour?
A coat? Odd...
He's holding something. A basket...?
He left it... and vanished...
Narrator (gentle female voice):
On a cold and silent night,
two infants lay quietly in a woven basket.
No home. No warmth. No one beside them.
Narrator (calm):
But their solitude… would not last long.
Narrator:
Maria and Darian — a childless couple — were walking the dim street together.
Suddenly, Maria paused.
She heard something... crying.
Maria (tense):
Darling… do you hear that?
Darian (thoughtful):
Maybe a baby in one of the nearby homes…
Maria (pointing):
No… it's too clear.
I think it's coming from that basket...
Darian:
You're right.
Narrator:
The couple approached the basket,
unaware that this small act would change their lives forever.
(Sound of the basket opening...)
Narrator:
Two infants… holding each other's hands tightly,
sleeping side by side.
No food. No blanket. Just each other.
Darian (angrily):
Who would abandon children in the cold?!
Where is their heart? Their conscience?!
Narrator (gentle female):
But Maria calmed him softly…
Maria (whispering):
Shh… you'll wake them.
Look… their little hands...
They're holding each other. It's so precious.
Narrator:
Darian knelt down and gently touched their hands.
Darian:
Don't be afraid…
We'll take care of you.
We'll love you more than anyone else ever could.
Narrator:
He tried to separate their hands, to carry them one by one…
But he couldn't.
Their hands — their bodies — were fused. As if nature had made a single soul.
Narrator (gentle female):
The couple stood there in silent awe.
But their hearts did not hesitate.
Despite the strange flaw,
they chose to take the children home.
Narrator:
And so… a beautiful family began —
in warmth, and love.
(Pause. Soft music fades in. Then the narrator returns...)
Narrator (whispering, fading):
Two little hands, reaching toward the unknown…
Two footsteps echoing into the dark.
There is no end to what has no beginning.
They thought it was the start...
But who can tell the beginning… from the end?
