Chapter 116 - In Search of a Leader (115)

After getting the information they were seeking, they left the village with more supply in their bags. Right as Starfania was making sure, Atlas was ready for another flight to the VulcanFire encampment. Aeron brought up a question that lingered in their mind. " What do you think your father was planning? "

The thought sent a shiver down Starfania's spine. She knew his mind–whatever plan he had involved was the dragon's extinction. One that could end Avalon as they know it. Starfania glanced at Aeron, her expression darkening.

"I don't want to think about it," she mumbled. The weight of her father's ambition loomed over them like a storm cloud. Atlas flapped his wings impatiently, sensing the tension in the air. Aeron frowned, unsure of how to comfort her. "But we can't ignore it. We need to prepare for whatever he's plotting."

The truth hung heavily between them. Starfania took a deep breath, steadying herself. The path ahead was uncertain, and every moment felt like a countdown.

"First, we should focus on getting to the encampment," she replied, her voice firm.

"We need to find Lyam. That was the mission Cantina entrusted us with." She mounted Atlas, her heart racing. Thoughts of battle, betrayal, and courage swirled in her mind. Vi gently tugged at Starfania's sleeve, her eyes filled with understanding.

"Can I keep you company?" she asked shyly. Starfania simply nodded her head. With a soft smile, Violet climbed onto Atlas's back as Starfania tightened her grip around her waist.

The world around them felt charged with a sense of urgency. Dust swirled in the air as Atlas shifted beneath them, eager to move.

"Hold on tight," Starfania called back, her voice a mixture of reassurance and encouragement. They set off into the unknown, each step becoming more vital. The trees blurred past them, towering sentinels witnessing their journey. Starfania could feel the weight of Vi's presence, a comforting reminder that she was not alone in this challenge. As they rode, the landscape began to change. The path grew rockier, and the distant sound of the river echoed against the hills. With the information they had gathered, the trio left the village, their path now clear–the VulcanFire encampment awaited them. Drogo followed close behind, Aeron guiding him with steady hands as they ascended. The group glided high above the land, tracing the river that carved a winding path through the path. Their eyes remained fixed on the horizon, where the VulcanFire camp—and the truth of Lyam's awaited them.
