Chapter 193 - Chapter 192 - The Battle in the Muggle World 05.

[Chapter Size: 2000 Words.]

Third Person POV

That City.

...

...

Voldemort was still standing at the edge of that building, watching the chaos unfold, as streaks of fire continued to rise into the sky, hitting more and more of his allies.

Feeling his death marks begin to fade with his allies falling one by one, it was mildly frustrating for him as he clenched his teeth, until he looked surprised at his hand upon noticing that Abraxas's mark had also vanished.

He could easily sense who might be dead when the mark disappeared near him, which made him even more frustrated as his gaze returned to the city in chaos, trying to find the culprit from there, but he couldn't see due to the distance.

"I'm going to kill that bastard!" Voldemort growled in fury upon realizing it, searching for any trace with his eyes.

After all, if his allies were dying, that would be terrible for his plans. He needed to conquer all of Magical Britain, and he would need the families with him. If he lost them, it would be a big problem — after all, he couldn't do everything alone, and fewer allies would even be dangerous for him at this moment, with other families turning their backs on him seeing their noble companions die like that.

As his gaze was focused forward, suddenly there was a noise below him as the buildings began to break. He looked surprised to see a black creature with shiny blue highlights, bear-shaped, emerging from the destroyed wall with some werewolves in its mouth, before crushing them with its teeth and tossing them with their mangled bodies, clearly dead.

Voldemort stared intently at the creature and began to see others approaching through the streets coming from that direction. Soon, more than fifty creatures were there, approaching the front of the building, and they stopped as they reached it, looking directly at him with their heads held high.

"What are these things?" he murmured, finally seeing those creatures, having killed one after being attacked and wounded by it — the creature had appeared hidden in the shadow of that dark wizard who had tried to warn him about the black creatures' attack.

At the same time, more shadows began to appear in his field of vision, and one clearly caught his attention — a huge snake emerging, slithering down the street, passing the soldiers and stopping in front of them, raising its head and staring directly at him before opening its mouth and growling with a sign of challenge.

Voldemort raised an eyebrow as a small snake began to slide out of his clothing. It was Nagini, the snake he had met in recent years and always traveled with him. She slithered up his arm near his hand, raising her head to look at the enormous serpent below after hearing the basilisk's growl.

"Ssssssss" Nagini hissed a few things in Parseltongue, and being a Parselmouth, Voldemort frowned — not at what Nagini had said in her language, saying that the creature was an ancient basilisk, but at what the basilisk itself had said.

"You dare challenge my king...?" Voldemort repeated the words the basilisk had growled, understanding its language.

"Challenge your king?" he repeated, sounding a bit stunned before becoming extremely angry. "Who is your king that dares challenge me, creature? I will kill him!" Voldemort responded in Parseltongue to the basilisk.

The creature became even more enraged and growled, responding directly to Voldemort, saying it would kill him for disrespecting its king — and called Voldemort an inferior and insignificant creature, which made the Dark Lord even more furious upon hearing that.

"How dare you?!" he shouted, preparing his wand to cast a spell and attack them.

At the same time, the creatures suddenly stopped responding to his potential attack. Based on their gestures, they seemed ready to advance, but stopped, and Voldemort raised an eyebrow when they began moving to the sides, opening a path between them.

Someone began to emerge from the streets, walking through the open path, advancing through the center of the creatures, which were surrounding a hooded figure in a black cloak.

The person approached the front of the soldiers, while no one else moved. The basilisk was still growling at Voldemort, staring at him as a challenge, but giving space for its king to pass.

Everyone was still, waiting for any order from that man.

"So this is the one who controls the creatures..." Voldemort murmured, now carefully analyzing the mysterious figure. He was finally seeing the one responsible for destroying much of his plans and greatly weakening his strength.

The hooded man lifted his head, staring at Voldemort in front of the black soldiers on that street, while the Dark Lord stared back at him from atop the building. They looked at each other for a few seconds.

"So you are the one they call the Dark Lord? Voldemort?" he spoke with his voice easily echoing, while the Dark Lord himself was surprised to see someone say his name with such maturity or lack of fear. This character was certainly no ordinary person.

In the next moment, the man simply vanished before Voldemort could respond, turning into a shadow, while Voldemort narrowed his eyes and slowly turned with his wand in hand, and Nagini raised her head and observed the enemy from Voldemort's other hand, as the man now stood on the other side, atop that building, on top of several corpses that Voldemort and Abraxas had left earlier.

"I heard you're planning to attack my shop," the hooded man said in a distorted but severe tone.

"You've been causing a lot of trouble, and I intend to kill you for it... but before that, who are you?" Voldemort asked, since he couldn't see the stranger's face.

"Just someone who will destroy you. You are certainly a creature that must cease to exist in this world. Your plans to dominate England, enslave all non-noble members or those from small wizarding and Muggle families, as well as to dominate the wizarding world... will not happen," the hooded man said.

"Avada Kedavra!!"

In the next moment, a spell was fired from Voldemort's wand, rapidly advancing toward Snape — an Avada Kedavra from the Dark Lord was quite powerful, even comparable to the power Snape had unleashed when he fought Rosaria in their first encounter.

Voldemort had become so enraged with Snape that he launched an Avada Kedavra to kill this arrogant fellow.

But Snape there simply turned, letting the spell pass by his side just inches away, seeing it all in slow motion, as if mocking the dark wizard, who frowned upon seeing Snape dodge his attack in such a way, merely taking a few steps.

"This spell is slow," he said calmly, mocking the man...

Snape was much faster and more powerful than when he faced Dumbledore. And that was only using magic until the end of the fight to defeat the greatest living wizard in England.

That truly frustrated Voldemort. He quickly cast another spell, while Snape once again turned to the side, letting it pass.

"AHHHHHH!!!!"

That enraged Voldemort so much, unable to bear seeing his magic so humiliated before that man interfering in his plans. He raised his head and growled, screaming, as he cast a spell with a sweeping motion of both hands to the sides.

All the buildings and houses around began to shatter their glass and windows. Suddenly, an explosion of glass shards erupted, as they began to fly in fragments upward, rising like a river above the building where they were.

"Try dodging this!" Voldemort growled, pointing forward, saying that as the shards of glass began to move at high speed, once again advancing from behind him, opening a path through the sides and quickly circling, rushing toward Snape.

"Interesting spell..." Snape commented, watching it, genuinely surprised by the magnitude of what Voldemort had managed to do — even hundreds of thousands of glass shards advancing toward him.

As he grabbed his wand, he decided to deal with it with magic as well. Quickly, he conjured a transmigration spell, transforming the ground into gold and swiftly raising it by moving his wand in that direction, as a shield made of a golden wall emerged, colliding with the advancing glass shards, exploding into even smaller fragments.

Voldemort didn't allow himself to be surprised. He knew that technique — it belonged to Dumbledore, who could transmigrate gold from anything.

Even faster, he turned into smoke, advancing directly above where the gold was, firing an Avada Kedavra at point-blank range at whoever was inside the golden shield, which was open at the top, while the river of glass shards halted, falling around the area of the building.

When he saw what he had hit, he was surprised to find nothing there. There was no Snape, while his spell merely lit up the center of the place, with no sign of the strange man.

At the same time, he quickly sensed something coming from above. He looked up and saw Snape, behind a sword, advancing at full speed forward — a sword large enough to cut him in half.

At the last second, Voldemort simply vanished, turning into smoke and moving to the side of the building, while the sword pierced the gold, burying itself in the material with the force it had been thrown.

Snape appeared atop the gold, retrieving the sword he had transmigrated — a fairly common weapon, but enough to kill Voldemort if it hit.

"You are strong and have faster reflexes than wizards normally would, I must admit... But you are still... weak," Snape said, finding that Dark Lord not as powerful as he had expected.

Voldemort looked at him for a while, then began lowering his head, clenching his teeth even harder. Even Nagini, on his arm the whole time, looked slightly concerned.

"You dare mock me, stranger? I am Voldemort! The Dark Lord and the one who will rule the entire world!" he growled with the peak of his rage so far, as he made that declaration.

"Then tell me, Dark Lord... how are you going to deal with this?" Snape said, raising his head, mocking that man with the strange appearance, without a nose, literally looking like a snake.

The man was consumed by rage, and only noticed the rumblings below him when it was already too late. The ground where he stood began to crack, breaking violently.

That forced him to flee in a cloud of smoke, as the enormous head of Ouroboros emerged, breaking through everything, trying to devour him in a single bite. Voldemort flew to the side, escaping the attack.

Snape then appeared right beside him in the air with his teleport, surprising him, while lowering the sword he had transmigrated directly at the smoke, slicing it at the same time it disappeared, leaving behind only a small black vapor.

On the other side of the building, with an Apparition, Voldemort appeared.

"AAARGH!" he screamed, still holding his wand with one hand and clutching his severed arm with the other.

Snape landed, with part of Voldemort's arm falling to the ground, as he held the snake that had been with the Dark Lord the entire time.

She tried to escape, but he easily held her neck with his hand. The small serpent's body writhed, trying to wrap itself around Snape's arm and squeeze — but it had no effect. He didn't even feel pain with Snape's current strength; it was no bother.

"How strange..." Snape murmured, looking at the creature with curiosity, sensing something in her, feeling that she was a bit desperate to get away.

But soon he paid it no mind. While holding the snake, his gaze returned to Voldemort, who was on the other side, growling in pain, having just lost one of his arms, from the forearm down.
