Chapter 172 - Chapter 172: Toby and Leo Were Stunned

However, what he didn't expect was that even though Annie and her group had more people and were younger, their stamina and fighting skills were still no match for Monica and the other two from the previous afternoon.

In just under four hours, he had completely dealt with all five of them.

Especially Annie, who almost couldn't make it to the afternoon's special screening of *Mean Girls*.

Although she only played a secondary villain and it wouldn't have been a big deal if she didn't attend, for the sake of exposure, not just Annie, but even Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played an even smaller role, forced herself to quickly put on makeup and dress up to attend the screening with Wayne.

"Honey, did you miss me?"

"Of course! Have you finished shooting your scenes in *Taken*?"

"Yeah, I've wrapped up my scenes."

At the screening, Wayne met Scarlett Johansson, who had just wrapped up her role in *Taken*.

Even though it had only been a little over a month since he last saw her, Wayne could clearly feel that Scarlett had become even more sensual, especially with that effortless charm that made him feel a bit tempted.

However, since he might gain something else at Harvey's party tonight, he held back his desire and planned to ask the "Mean Girls Squad" out tomorrow instead.

Of course, Megan, who wasn't old enough, was excluded.

"Hey Wayne, it's great you're here! I was worried those unsatisfied reporters might tear me apart without you."

Wayne had just exchanged a few words with Scarlett when Harvey enthusiastically came over.

"Don't say that, Harvey. We're friends, aren't we?"

Suppressing his disgust, Wayne laughed and hugged Harvey. Then, with Scarlett and Annie, they greeted some well-known journalists and critics alongside him.

For Wayne, the rising A-list star, the reporters naturally wouldn't miss the chance to ask him questions. However, whether it was out of respect for his status as a producer or because Annie Hurst had already had her team brief the magazines and newspapers, none of the reporters asked anything too invasive. This made Wayne feel quite relieved.

Previously, attending such screenings had always made him dread the reporters who buzzed around like flies.

"Hey Wayne, let me introduce you to someone. This is Kelly Preston. She just starred in *What A Mess*, a film my company invested in this year."

As expected, at the evening party, Harvey had prepared several surprises for him. Among them was Kelly Preston, the 'American Sweetheart' who had partnered with stars like Schwarzenegger and Tom Cruise in the 80s and 90s.

Also there were Renee Zellweger, Jim Carrey's ex, who would be nominated for an Oscar next year for *Bridget Jones's Diary*, and the acclaimed Spanish goddess Penelope Cruz.

You couldn't deny that Harvey's connections in this area were top-notch.

Yet, Wayne wasn't particularly interested in those three. He was most grateful for the presence of Kate Beckinsale, who, while only a B-list star at the moment, would rise to fame after the release of *Pearl Harbor*, *Underworld*, and *Van Helsing*.

Even though Kate Beckinsale was married with a daughter, at 27, she was still in her prime, exuding a unique elegance and charm that was irresistible.

"Hey Kate, how about we grab a drink somewhere more private?"

Wayne's straightforward proposition didn't upset Kate Beckinsale in the slightest; instead, she responded with a bright smile.

"Of course, Mr. Wayne. It would be my pleasure," Kate said quickly.

Even though she was married and had just given birth to her first daughter last year, attending Harvey's party meant she wouldn't refuse Wayne's invitation.

With her top-tier looks, a rising A-list star's fame, and the resources and influence Wayne held in Hollywood, there was plenty of temptation for any actress.

However, Kate Beckinsale alone wasn't enough for Wayne. By 10 PM, after leaving the already passed-out Kate behind, he drove to Martina's place, gathered the "Mean Girls Squad" along with Camilla Belle, and started another round of "battles."

Though these girls weren't as individually formidable as Monica Bellucci or Catherine Zeta-Jones, the six of them together lasted nearly four hours before finally succumbing.

If it weren't for the fact that he had promised to attend Leo's yacht party, Wayne would have been reluctant to leave.

"Hey Leo, long time no see~"

At the Santa Monica pier, Wayne, now dressed in a more relaxed outfit, hugged Leonardo DiCaprio. His gaze couldn't help but linger on the long legs and perfect figures of the women standing next to him.

"Wow! Angela Lindvall, Karolina Kurkova, and Gisele Bündchen? No wonder they call you 'Supermodel Whisperer', Leo! With connections like these in the supermodel world, you're officially my brother from now on!"

"But if I'm not mistaken, wasn't Gisele already dating Leo by this time? What a shame!"

"In my past life, Gisele claimed Leo was too much of a playboy, which led to their breakup. But now it seems like that was just an excuse. Probably, Leo just got tired and wanted to move on."

Wayne mused silently.

Meanwhile, Leo pulled over Toby Maguire, who stood out in the crowd of models even more than the striking Tyra Banks.

"This is Toby, one of my best buddies," Leo said, draping an arm around Toby Maguire's shoulder.

It was well-known in Hollywood that Leo and Toby were close friends, so Wayne wasn't surprised to see Toby here.

"Hey Toby, nice to meet you! You must be filming *Spider-Man* for Sony right now, right? That's one of my favorite superheroes!"

Wayne enthusiastically greeted Toby Maguire.

Once *Spider-Man* premiered, Toby would join the ranks of Hollywood's top stars. While his fame might not rival Leo's, he'd certainly surpass actors like Keanu Reeves.

But at the moment, he was still just a B-lister, not as well-known as Matt Damon, and far behind Wayne and Leo in terms of fame.

Relieved by Wayne's warm greeting, Toby smiled and exchanged pleasantries with him.

"Nice to meet you, Wayne. I just saw your movie *The Bourne Identity* a few days ago. You were amazing in it!"

"See Toby? I told you there was nothing to worry about~" Leo nudged him playfully. Then, wrapping his arm around Gisele Bündchen, he said, "Alright, let's stop standing around. Let's get on the yacht!"

With eight supermodels in tow, Leo surprisingly stayed loyal to Gisele.

Tobey Maguire was only holding Tyra Banks, so naturally, the other six women sat beside Wayne.

"Hi, I'm Alessandra Ambrosio. You can call me AA."

"I'm Karolina Kurkova, but everyone calls me KK."

"I'm Adriana Lima."

Gulp. Wayne glanced to his left and right, instinctively swallowing hard.

Even with his enhanced body, the idea of facing six supermodels at once was a little intimidating. After all, supermodels seem to have quite the stamina.

But he was eager to challenge his limits.

So, after the appetizer game ended, Wayne, under the stunned gazes of Tobey and Leo, eagerly took six beauties and headed straight for the yacht's largest master bedroom.

"This guy..."

"Hey, he's young, right? Wants to show off. But soon enough, he'll learn just how tough these supermodels can be."

Tobey and Leo exchanged amused glances, both smirking.

However, it wasn't long before they began to question reality. The sounds from the room hadn't stopped since Wayne entered, and it wasn't until the yacht returned in the evening that Wayne finally emerged!

Tobey and Leo couldn't help but sneak a peek through the door crack, and then looked at Wayne as if he were a monster.

"You—"

"Standard procedure, standard procedure~"

Seeing their wide-open mouths and frog-eyed expressions, Wayne couldn't help but laugh.

"By the way, if I wanted to buy a modeling agency, do you guys have any suggestions?"

Laughing it off, Wayne changed the subject before they could respond.

Before, he hadn't really paid much attention to supermodels, being more of a looks person. But after experiencing it firsthand, he realized why Leo was so fond of them. Supermodels only wanted his fame, maybe just stirring up some gossip for exposure. They didn't require many resources, making them much easier to handle than typical actresses.

"You want to buy a modeling agency?" Wayne's words caught Leo by surprise.

But considering Wayne's monstrous stamina and deep pockets, Leo couldn't argue.

"I can help you look into it."

"That'd be great, thanks!"

The originally planned beach barbecue party had to be canceled due to Karolina Kurkova and the other five being completely exhausted.

After some thought, Wayne drove over to Charlize Theron's place.

Even after several intense sessions in the past couple of days, dealing with Charlize Theron was still within his limits.

"Surprise! I brought your favorite, pineapple chicken pizza~!"

"I bet that's your favorite, not mine."

Charlize gave Wayne a big eye-roll, but the upward curl of her lips betrayed her happiness at his sudden arrival.

Wayne then had to make a choice between eating the pizza first or Charlize Theron. Unsurprisingly, he chose the latter.

The more he spent time with different women, the more he realized just how much Charlize stood out.

Soon, the entire villa became their battlefield.

The "battle" didn't end until more than an hour later.

"Have you finished handling everything, honey?"

Lying lazily in Wayne's arms on the now-chaotic bed, Charlize Theron's body gleamed like golden silk under the warm light. Her voice was soft and sultry, like a contented kitten.

"Yeah, almost done. Tomorrow, I'll call Steven Soderbergh, and we'll fly to Las Vegas." Wayne knew what she was asking and decided to answer first.

Honestly, he was beginning to regret taking the role of the third lead in Ocean's Eleven, originally played by Matt Damon.

Since February, he had already shot Mean Girls and The Notebook back to back, and had "written" four screenplays: Taken, Hotel for Dogs, Wedding Crashers, and Heidi.

All this hard work seemed to contradict his goal of enjoying life, not to mention his capitalist mindset!

Also, since his role in Ocean's Eleven was just the third lead, his paycheck was only $4 million, and filming would take almost 20 days. Clearly not worth it.

Given his current popularity, comparable to Tom Cruise and Keanu Reeves, his pay should be at least double.

With his influence, unless he was playing the lead in Ocean's Eleven, the role wouldn't do much for his fame or future paychecks. Instead, the movie would benefit from his presence.

That's why, despite all his delays, Soderbergh and the producers were still willing to wait for him.

While Wayne wasn't thrilled, he knew he had to follow through on the role. Even with his clout, it wouldn't look good to break a contract, as it could damage his reputation.

In both Eastern and Western cultures, when a person or company loses their integrity, it brings serious consequences.

So the next morning, Wayne called Soderbergh, telling him they'd be flying to Las Vegas soon.

"You're arriving by noon? That's fantastic! I'll send my assistant to pick you up!" Soderbergh's excitement was obvious over the phone.

Wayne's schedule wasn't exactly a secret.

After wrapping up The Notebook on the 18th, he had returned to Los Angeles, attended the premiere of Mean Girls on the 20th, and now, on the 22nd, he was flying to Vegas to join the cast. In all, he'd only rested for two days.
