Leo crushed his fists into the ground only meters away from Kael and Thane, causing them to both launch backwards from the force of his attacks.
He was in so much pain, and not the physical kind.
Ahead of him, and looking so fragile and weak, was the man who had ruined his best friend's life.
He had watched Kael of House Stormrauk tear the life out of Reinhart, with his own hands.
And yet Leo could do nothing, and watched as the officials had refused to do his friend justice.
After nearly giving up in that locker room, it had been that fool who had instilled a sense of life in his burdened heart.
'Damn that Stray...'
And yet he couldn't help but feel only gratefulness for the first year, the stray, and the one who he had thought would bring this team down.
He was wrong, so so so wrong.
There were no words that he could tell Chase, that would give him the forgiveness that he would probably spend years searching for.
And honestly, he felt that he deserved as such.
So the only thing that Leo could do in this very moment, was stand by the son of Blaze...
Yes, he knew, of course he knew.
He knew the moment he was given his father's locker.
And now, the only thing blinding his raw rage, was the honor to stand by a true prodigy in the most legendary of battles.
Chase reached his arms behind him in a clapping motion, and send forth a wave of powerful flames that buried both of the Frostfang's strongest.
"You get Thane, I get Kael, on my mark..."
Chase nodded, squeezing his eyes shut, as the flames around his body somehow grew hotter.
The boy was a walking bundle of hellfire, and that was an understatement.
"Go..."
The two shot forward, as Leo clenched his first, and immediately came crashing down on Kael of House Stormrauk.
Kael recoiled in terrible pain, as his entire jaw cracked from the might of the blow, and Leo had already prepared another attack.
Before Leo could land the hit, a blade slit across his shoulder, and then ripped open his stomach.
With a curse, Leo grabbed the edge of the blade the yanked it out of the hands of Kael, and sent it right back at him with a powerful force.
The blade crashed into the vile heir of Stormrauk with terrible pressure.
As the blade shot straight through Kael's arm, severing it at the shoulder, He laughed a terrible and wicked chuckle.
Then Ice shot from the ground underneath Leo, ripping him straight through the back.
Leo was now hanging limply, with a towering spike impaled through his back and out of his chest.
Somehow, the ice had not made contact with his catalyst, but that was all that mattered.
Even though, his own heart had exploded in front of his very eyes, he did not need it.
Below him, a terrible bellow escaped the lips of someone very familiar.
"You really messed up..."
Leo said with pure delight, as Neo charged straight through the pillar of ice that had immobilized him.
The funny thing about the heir of Lion's Primis affinity, was that his organs did not function at all...
All of a normal human's motor functions, ran perfectly within the catalyst of his energy...
Which is why he was so delighted when Kael had tried to murder him like any normal person.
But that was what made him so ecstatic...
He was no normal person...
Leo landed with a powerful explosion, once he hit the ground, and now stood next to Neo.
It must have been fate...
"It appears destiny has played out the same scene yet again; however, this time with a new face..."
Neo joked, as he gazed at Chase burning the very life out of Thane of House Frostfang, on the other side of the clearing...
"Shall we, then?"
Leo asked, smirking at Neo.
The two slowly walked forward, gathering all of the energy that they had left.
The two powerhouses of Phoenix Academy neared Kael of House Stormrauk, who had swiftly forged a new arm made out of his signature ice.
"How do we kill him?"
Neo asked, hinting at the affinity of Kael.
The ability known as Frozen Life, which is some sort of ice that has the energy of the creation of life resting within its frozen essence.
Last time, Leo had been completely torn down by Thane's powerful energy, but this time Thane was fighting someone who had the perfect counter to his affinity, and now both Leo and Neo were standing face to face with the man who had taken their best friend's reason to live.
Neo moved first, even though blood ran from his eye sockets like a river, and his armor had been nearly destroyed, he crashed into Kael like the Cobra that he had always been born to be.
A terrible strike to the skull, vibrated the very body of Kael, and Leo followed after, sending his shoulder into the stomach of the Stormrauk.
Recoiling back, Kael launched spikes of ice in their direction...
Leo simply took them like a tank, as the spikes crashing straight through his torso, leaving terrible holes the size of an aetherball in his chest.
"Come on! You can do better then that!"
Neo was already behind Kael, sending his gauntlet directly into the small of his back.
Leo shot forward again, crashing another strike into the already momentum carried Kael.
Kael plummeted into the ground, blood filling the cracked ground like a forge of lava.
Leo lowered himself down to Kael's level and whispered...
"You should have ripped my catalyst out, with Reinhart's..."
Then Neo stomped on the head of Kael with mighty force, resulting in an echoing crack that would have destroyed the skulls of most people.
From it, and explosion of ice shot from the boy's withering body, impaling both Neo and Leo, sending them hurling back.
"Don't worry... I will this time..."
Kael's voice sounded wicked, and grim from the bottom of his torn up throat as he stood back up.
This time with thousands of swords of ice whirling around his body, like his own personal army.
Each sword shot at the both of them, some hitting their marks, while others didn't.
Leo somehow made his way through the barrage of attacks, and grabbed Kael by the throat, lifting him into the air.
"I'd ask your final words, but I couldn't give a damn."
Then feeling every emotion explode within his distraught body, Leo squeezed, crushing the throat of Kael like the weak piece of ice that he was.
His body tried to thrash around and fight, but Leo did not falter.
Then only moments later, the lifeless corpse went limp, and hung from the closed fist of Leo in the air.
Far away, Chase exploded into a ball of flames, and let out a terrible scream.
"The rest is up to you now..."
