Angel's POV
I agreed. I agreed to dance for him and he was happy and chose today as the day I'd come to his house and dance for him cause he was going to be free as today is a weekend
He's gonna be alone and I'd be with him cause it's his house not his parent's like mine
Anyways I'm freaking out now, I don't even know what to wear. What if I mess everything up, he looked ecstatic when I agreed, what if I disappoint him?, I don't wanna disappoint him
We're gonna be alone together, Ugh. What do I do?. How do I behave?. Casual?. Unaffected? But I am anything but that. I am very much affected and I'm not feeling casual. Gosh, I'm very much confused, what do I do?
I finally settle on a black body hug leggings and a white top. Very simple? Yeah I know. I wanted something I'd be able to move seamlessly and flawlessly in and something I'd be able to run in also in case things get...bad.
SOMETIME LATER
Third person's POV (A/N: before you start strangling me, it's a great idea cause we get to know what they're both feeling, isn't that amazing?. Yeah, yeah. I'm amazing, I know I am 🤗. Even the emoji is sideways 😹. LMAO)
Angel fumbled with her phone, scrolling through her music library as she flashed Samuel a nervous smile. "Okay, what do you want me to dance to?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
Samuel leaned back in his chair, steeling his fingers together as he regarded her lazily. "Surprise me," he drawled.
Angel's grin faltered for a moment what does he mean surprise me???. Am I supposed to just jump naked in front of him or something before she shrugged and pressed play. The opening beats of "Uptown Funk" filled the room, and Angel launched into a series of enthusiastic dance moves.
As she spun around, her feet tangled together, and she stumbled, her arms flailing wildly as she struggled to regain her balance. Samuel's lips twitched as he watched her, his eyes crinkling at the corners. Asshole. She thought.
But Angel quickly recovered, laughing awkwardly as she continued to dance. She tripped again, this time over her own feet, and wobbled like a headless chicken trying to find it's way from the hot pot of soup before steadying herself. Samuel's amusement deepened, and he found himself chuckling along with her.
As the song wore on, Samuel's laughter faded, replaced by a growing sense of awareness. He couldn't help but notice the way Angel's eyes sparkled when she laughed, the way her hair bounced with each step.
As the final notes of the song faded away, Samuel leaned forward, his eyes locked on Angel's. "Again," he said, his voice low and husky. " I'd love to see you do that again, I loved it"
Angel's smile faltered, and for a moment, they just stared at each other, the air thick with unspoken tension. Then Angel nodded, her fingers flying across her phone's screen once more.
This time, the opening strains of "Earned It" by The Weeknd filled the room, the music slow and sultry. Angel's movements changed, becoming more fluid and sensual as she lost herself in the rhythm.
Samuel's eyes were glued to her, his heart pounding in his chest. The room seemed to shrink, the space between them growing smaller and more charged with each passing moment.
As Angel's hips swayed, her arms undulating above her head, Samuel felt his breath catch in his throat. He was trapped, caught in the snare of her beauty and his own desire.Damn!, she sure looks tantalizing
The music seemed to stretch on forever, the tension between them building to an almost unbearable pitch. Samuel's fingers dug into the armrests of his chair trying to keep himself from going to her, his knuckles white with tension.
And still, Angel danced, her eyes locked on his, her movements weaving a spell of seduction and desire around them both.
As the music swirled around them, Angel's movements became even more fluid, her body swaying to the rhythm. Samuel's eyes were fixed on hers, his gaze burning with intensity.
Angel's skin felt flushed, her heart pounding in her chest. She could feel Samuel's eyes on her, sense the tension coiling between them like a live wire.
As the song built towards its climax, Angel's movements became more expressive, her hips swaying in a slow, sensual circle. Samuel's breath caught in his throat, his fingers digging deeper into the armrests of his chair. His self control ready to snap like a weak rubber band
The music seemed to pulse with a life of its own, the beat throbbing like a heartbeat. Angel's eyes locked onto Samuel's, her gaze holding him captive.
For a moment, they just stared at each other, the air thick with tension. Then, in a movement that seemed almost involuntary, Samuel rose from his chair, his eyes never leaving Angel's.
He took a step closer, his movements slow and deliberate. Angel's heart skipped a beat as she felt the space between them shrink, the air growing heavier with anticipation.
And then, just as suddenly, the music stopped, leaving only an oppressive silence in its wake. Samuel's eyes still burned with intensity, his gaze holding Angel captive.
The moment hung suspended, full of possibilities and promise. It was as if the entire world had narrowed down to this one and they weren't complaining. The air seemed to vibrate with unspoken desire, the tension between them crackling like electricity.
Samuel's eyes burned with an inner fire, his gaze holding Angel captive. She felt her breath catch in her throat, her heart pounding in her chest. The room around them melted away, leaving only the two of them, suspended in a moment of pure, unadulterated tension.
The space between them seemed to shrink, the distance between their bodies dwindling to almost nothing. Angel's skin felt alive, her senses heightened as she waited, her heart racing, to see what Samuel would do next.
Just as it seemed like Samuel was about to take a step closer, Angel's phone shattered the silence, its ringing piercing the air like a knife. She jumped, her heart racing, as she fumbled for her phone.
"Sorry," she muttered, glancing at the screen. Her eyes widened as she saw Roman's name flashing on the display.
She hesitated for a moment before answering, her voice cautious. "Hey, Roman."
Samuel's eyes narrowed, his gaze never leaving Angel's face as he listened to her side of the conversation.
"Yeah, I'm listening," Angel said, her tone growing more serious. "What's the job?"
There was a pause, and Angel's eyes flicked up to meet Samuel's. For a moment, they just stared at each other, the tension between them still simmering.
Then Angel's gaze dropped, her attention focused on the conversation. "Okay, got it. I'll take care of it."
The conversation continued for another minute or so before Angel hung up, her expression thoughtful.
"Sorry about that," she said, turning to Samuel. "I have something I need to take care of."
Samuel's gaze narrowed, his eyes probing hers. "What is it?" he pressed, his tone neutral.
Angel hesitated, unsure how much to reveal. She knew Samuel was already aware of her involvement with the gang, but she wasn't sure how he felt about it and he hasn't said a thing
"It's just something I need to handle," she repeated, trying to brush it off. But Samuel wasn't having it. He took a step closer, his eyes burning with intensity.
"Angel, I know you're involved with some pretty rough people," he said, his voice low. "I know you're in a gang. And I know it's not just some casual thing. You're in deep."
Angel's expression remained calm, but a hint of wariness crept into her eyes. She knew Samuel was concerned about her, and she appreciated his worry, but she couldn't let him get too close out of fear he'd get discovered by them.
"I can take care of myself," she said, trying to sound confident.
But Samuel just shook his head. "I know you think you can, but you're not invincible, Angel. You're not immune to getting hurt."
Angel felt a pang of frustration. She knew Samuel was just trying to help, but she couldn't let him see her as vulnerable. She couldn't let him see her as anything less than strong.
"It's just something I need to take care of," she repeated, trying to sound firm but failing and refusing to accept defeat.
Samuel's eyes searched hers, but he seemed to sense that she wasn't going to budge. He nodded slowly, his expression grim.
"Be careful," he said, his voice low. "Please."
Angel nodded, feeling a pang of gratitude towards him. She knew he cared, and she appreciated his concern. But she also knew that she couldn't let him get too close. She couldn't let him see the fear that gripped her heart at the possibility of them finding him. They'd hurt him and she didn't want that
Angel's POV (makes more sense this way. Since they're no longer together)
I stepped into my apartment, dropping my bag on the floor. I had just gotten back from Samuel's house. Roman had called and warned me to lay low for a while.
FLASHBACK (THIS WAS THE TIME SHE WAS CALLED, I DIDN'T SPECIFY MUCH SO I HAD TO SPECIFY HERE)
I answered the phone, Roman's voice on the other end.
"Angel, we've got a situation," he said, his tone serious.
I raised an eyebrow, though he couldn't see me. He couldn't have waited for some time?"What kind of situation?"
"Robert's goons and lackeys are out to get you, they're looking for revenge. They're trying to track you down."
I shrugged, even though he couldn't see me. "Figured as much."
Roman's voice was firm. "Angel, this isn't a joke. They're not going to stop until they get to you."
I sighed, rubbing my temples. "I know, Roman. I've been expecting this."
There was a pause on the other end of the line. "You know, I've never been able to understand your way of thinking. Anyways, you need to lay low for a while, Angel. Keep a low profile."
I nodded, though I knew he couldn't see me. "Got it. I'll be careful."
Roman's voice was serious. "See that you are, Angel. I don't want anything to happen to you."
I rolled my eyes, though I knew he couldn't see me. "I can take care of myself, Roman. You don't have to go on sappy on me"
Roman's voice was dry. "I'm sure you can, Angel. Just be careful, okay?. I'm worried about you not being sappy you robot."
" Whatever "
END OF FLASHBACK
" Hi, mum" I called walking into the kitchen where I
She turned around, a spoon in her hand. "Hey, sweetie. How was your day?"
I shrugged. "It was fine. Just had to take care of some business."
Mom nodded, her expression serious. "Be careful, okay? I don't want anything to happen to you."
I smiled, trying to reassure her. "I will, Mom. Don't worry."
"Where's dad?"
"Oh, yeah. He stepped out for a bit"
Just then, Her expression changed and she said, "Angel, Samuel's waiting for you in your room."
My heart skipped a beat. Samuel? What was he doing here? I hadn't expected him to show up, especially not after the warning Roman had just given me. And I literally just left his place not long ago
I made my way to my room, curious about what Samuel wanted. When I opened the door, I found him pacing back and forth, his eyes fixed on the floor. He looked worried, and my instincts told me that something was wrong. Immediately, I left the kitchen and walked into my room
I closed the door behind me and approached Samuel. "Hey, what's going on?" I asked, trying to keep my tone light.
Samuel stopped pacing and turned to me. His eyes were wild, panicked. "I received a message," he said, his voice shaking slightly.
I felt a knot form in my stomach. A message? "What kind of message?" I asked, my mind racing with possibilities.
Samuel hesitated before answering, "A death threat."
My heart sank. Fast. Who would be threatening Samuel? And why?
I took a step closer to him, trying to reassure him. "What did it say?" I asked, trying to keep my voice calm.
Samuel's eyes locked onto mine, fear and desperation written across his face. "It said... 'Tell your girl to surrender peacefully for what she did, or it will get bloody, starting with you."
My mind racing, I quickly connected the dots. This had to be related to Robert. Roman's warning earlier today flashed through my mind.
I took a deep breath, trying to reassure Samuel. "It's going to be okay," I said, trying to sound calmer than I felt.
Samuel's grip on my arms tightened. "No, Angel, it's not okay. They're threatening me because of you. Are we safe?"
I gently pried his fingers off my arms. "Samuel, listen to me. This is because of something I did, not you. You're just a target because of me."
His eyes searched mine, filled with worry. "What did you do, Angel?"
I hesitated, unsure how much to reveal. "Let's just say I took care of someone who was a threat to me. And now, his people are looking for revenge."
Samuel's face paled. "Oh God, Angel. What if they...?"
I placed a finger on his lips, silencing him. "Don't even think about it. You're going to be safe, Samuel. I promise."
I pulled him into a hug, trying to reassure him. "Just be careful, okay? Don't go anywhere alone, and keep your phone close."
Samuel nodded, his face still etched with worry. I knew I had to do everything in my power to keep him safe.
I held him at arm's length, as I look at him straight in the eye. "I mean it, Samuel. You have to be careful. If anything happens to you..." My voice trailed off, the thought unbearable and gave me chills.
Samuel's expression softened, and he reached out to brush a strand of hair behind my ear. "I'll be fine, Angel. I promise. But what about you? You're the one they're really after."
I forced a smile onto my face. "I can take care of myself, Samuel. Don't worry about me."
But Samuel's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing. "I'll always worry about you, Angel. You're the one I care about."
My heart skipped a beat at his words, and for a moment, we just stared at each other, the tension between us palpable.
"I know and I care about you too. I just want you to be safe so we can finally have peace"
"Alright kitten" He pecks me on my forehead and pulls me into his arms "you know you don't have to pretend to be strong with me right?"
I freeze, unsure of how to respond to what he said so I just opt for blinking cluelessly at him
"Don't pretend, kitten. I need your words"
"Uh, I uh. I am not pretending?. Or am I?" He eyes me with a look of are we really doing this right now?. Fine. Maybe I was buh I am seriously fine. I'd take care of myself"
"Whatever you say, kitten. I'd be on my way now "
" Alright, I'll see you later"
" Good bye, love ya " and he walks out like he didn't just rock my world
"..... "
Well, whatever. I can't be thinking about this when I have something more important to do
I've got my loved ones to protect and I've got some bums to deal with
