Chapter 52 - Chapter 52 - Boredom of the Three Friends

When winter gave away to spring, Felix had a rough couple months. He had to keep a mandrake leaf in his mouth for two months in a row. While it would be considered quick by many who learn and try to learn the animagus magic.

What really bugged him was the bad luck he had. For he nearly had it in the first month, but during the last week the leaf crumbled. Thus he had to restart and carefully he made it through the next month.

At the end of the month, with the help of Dumbledore, they put the vial in a safe spot. Now, he just has to wait for a thunderstorm.

"I'm bored." Angel said as she took a seat.

"Hi, bored, I'm Felix."

"Don't you have any better jokes?" John appeared soon after.

"No, not really." Felix shrugged.

He has quite a few jokes, but when they reference things that won't appear for another forty years. It makes the jokes land differently.

"So why aren't you guys playing with your toy?" Angel asked.

"We are taking a break." John said. "As much fun as it is, working on it often left us a bit drained."

Angel just shrugged as they sat in a group inside the common room. They sat there for a few minutes before they all slouched.

"What should we do now?" Angel asked.

"I don't know." John replied.

"Magic?" Felix suggested.

"No," Both Angel and John said.

Felix lightly pouted, but didn't blame them. He was also slightly burnt out on magic so he didn't fight them. Now, this left them in a moment of not knowing what to do since they have no homework and most of their usual activities aren't appealing.

"Then what should we do?"

"Uno?" Angel suggested.

"Why not." Felix agreed.

"Do we even have uno cards?" John asked.

"I don't think so." Angel slouched in disappointment.

--

A while later while playing some wizard chess. Felix looked at his opponent as Angel desperately tried to make a comeback in the game. However, with most of her pieces gone and her king nearly checkmated. The comeback is unlikely.

"We really need to find a hobby not involving magic." John said as he looked bored.

"What did you have in mind?" Felix asked.

"Nothing and that's the problem." John answered.

"We could ride our hoverboards." Angel suggested.

Felix mulled over the idea in his head for a moment and nodded. "I think there is a spot near Hagrid's hut we can temporarily transform into a small skate park."

"Great, let's do it." Angel nodded before racing to get her hoverboard.

--

After making their way outside and down near Hagrid's cabin. Felix flicked his wand a couple times transforming a decent size space into a makeshift skate park. Where John and Angel were amazed at the sight.

"I somehow forgot how good he is with magic." John muttered. "Making magic items is one thing, but his casting is amazing as ever."

"Well, it's not like he flaunts it that often." Angel replied.

She tended to forget that Felix can use magic that older students may or not be able to cast. Much like she said, he doesn't often show off his skills like this or really need to.

"So, is this good enough or should I add more?" Felix asked them.

"I think this is good enough." John said.

"Alright, so let's play." Felix smiled and tossed down his board.

The two followed and soon laughter filled the area.

--

Time quickly passed and while Felix was no trick master, he still had fun. So much so, he tired himself out, and laid listlessly on his board when they were all done playing. Which seemed to amuse his two friends who were still energetic.
