Lucas is inside the building waiting for Robert, he knows he is following him. Lucas has a plan, and he sure hopes it would work as the consequences are extreme.
Lucas is scared for his life, why wouldn't he be. His hands are sweating, but if he just plays it safe he won't die, hopefully.
Lucas begins to run upstairs, and he is only doing this because he wants to distract Robert. He just can't accept that people are dying, and it's indirectly their fault.
Lucas slaps himself saying he can't blame himself, and this is why Ashly was always annoyed by him. Ashly was right, he is soft and acts upon his emotions. Now he is putting himself in danger because of that, he just couldn't stand it.
Ashly isn't with him, and he doesn't know if she will return to him. He is putting his life on her hands, Ashly just needs to return. Lucas checks out the windows, and other possible exits on the second floor.
As long as the life's of others aren't in danger he is fine with this. It's a gamble that he accepts, and he doesn't care if he gets hurt a bit.
Compared to the many innocent people what's one life compared to many. Lucas just hopes that he doesn't die even if he thinks about it that way.
Lucas then opens all the doors of the second floor except for one. He doesn't know how Robert managed to shot him without looking. How could he? There wasn't anything that could be reflective.
Is Robert just unnaturally precise with his shots? That would be a big problem if it was true. Can Ashly compete with that? Lucas begins to grow doubtful as the time passes.
Lucas then opens the door of the room near the right side. He enters and closes the door, right there is a window where he can escape if he has to.
Lucas begins to take deep breaths, he is fine, and he has to stay focus. All he has to do is wait for Robert, but every second feels like an eternity. Then the front door of the building opens.
Lucas can clearly hear the loud footsteps that Robert is making. Lucas can tell Robert isn't trying to be sneaky, and that he is playing with him. Is he that confident that he can still kill him even when he is giving him a heads up?
He hears Robert wondering around the first floor. "Alright you can do this Lucas." He whispers to himself, he just has to do this one thing. There's no pressure with how it has to work perfectly.
"I'm in the second floor!" Lucas yells and for a short moment the footsteps stop. Lucas hears laughing, and then the footsteps begin to move upstairs.
"You do know you aren't making this easy for yourself Lucas. Don't you think for a second that this is making me feel bad. I'm willing to play your game, and get some entertained." Robert says as his footsteps get closer to the closed door.
Robert then opens the door, and he spots Lucas there standing in the center of the room.
"Tell me Lucas, what is your big play here? You're surrounded and how no escape. Sure there is a window, but I doubt someone like you won't get injured by that fall." Robert says as he enters the room.
"Don't tell me you gave up already Lucas…Of course you're not giving up, you're too calm here." Robert then looks around, "Now tell me where is that girl at?" Lucas doesn't answer him.
Lucas backs away moving slightly to the right, "I'm not sure why you are after us, but you aren't going to kill us." Lucas says as he is trying to not sound scared.
In an instant Robert ducks as a shot is fired straight at him. The bullet scrapes his hair causing it to get cut, but he doesn't care about that.
"Fuck!" Ashly says as she is hanging from the window. "I missed my only chance." Ashly then begins to shot again, but Robert manages to run out of the room.
Ashly climbs down, and Lucas jumps off the window. "Ahh" Lucas says softly as he landed mostly fine, but his ankles feel weird. "Don't worry Ashly I'm fine, we missed our chance. We have to just run away now." He says as they begin to run.
"That was way too risky of a plan Lucas, you're lucky I actually agreed to it. I had the chance to leave while you distracted him. Do you know how many things could of gone wrong?" Ashly yells at Lucas.
"I'm sorry, but I just couldn't stop myself, how can I let people die. This at least prevented or stalled many deaths, I don't want to see more people dying." Lucas says as he knows he is in the wrong, but he is a bit selfish.

Back a bit during the first few shootings, Lucas and Ashly are running. Ashly and Lucas hide behind a wall, Lucas is catching his breath. Lucas is examination some of the building as he begins to think of something.
"Hey Lucas, what are you thinking right now?" Ashly asks as Lucas continues to looks around, but all he says is that he is thinking.
"Lucas, we have to leave this district or else we are going to die. You don't get how dangerous this man is, from our last interaction I can guess he is not just average." Ashly says as she shakes Lucas shoulders.
Lucas turns to Ashly, "Listen, I am thinking of a plan that will stall him, and or possibly kill him." Lucas says which catches Ashly's attention.
"Alright Lucas, tell me this plan if it even will work. Just know that if it isn't something I will agree to do, we just will just get out as I'm not going to let myself die like that." Ashly says.
"Yeah sure Ashly, I hope you're more responsible than me. Alright so the thing that's obvious is that we are his targets. What I'll do is simply distract him, and take him to a place that would be a disadvantage to him." Lucas says and Ashly looks over the wall to see if he is near by.
"Ashly, you see that building right there." Lucas points to a specific two floor building, "I'll make him enter that building no matter what. Of course I have an Idea on how the buildings interior is. Most buildings are similar in all districts for simplicity."
"Ashly, I need you to get your weapon, and you see that window right there. That's the place I'll be in, and when I say 'you aren't going to kill us' you will then shot him. I hope that I'll make Robert feel eased as I'll seem like I'm trapped, and when he least expects it you kill him. This is going to be the only and easiest way to kill him."
"Yeah I understand that clearly Lucas." Ashly then begins to run to the inn they are residing in. She sure hope that it would work, and if not they just run away.
As Ashly continues to run as fast as she could, she spots the inn. Ashly runs up to their room, and opens the door in a hurry, she grabs the necessary light things. The most important ones that they would need for their escape.
Ashly then spots the money, and she then has a thought. What if…What if she just runs away with the money? Lucas is risking his life already so it isn't as bad of an idea.
The odds are all in her favor, if Lucas ends up dying he would most likely think she was just late. Lucas is the perfect distraction while she flees the scene, she can start a new life in a different district. The money is more than enough for her to live an easy, and carefree life for a decade at minimum.
She is only acting upon her survival instincts, and there is nothing wrong with that. She has nothing against Lucas at all, it's just that she grew up in a different world and different rules. Ashly then reaches, and grabs her gun that she has been hiding. She looks outside, and doubts that Lucas's plan will work.
If she runs right now then one of them is garanteed to survive while other won't. Then again if she goes along with the plan and it succeeds then they will both survive, but then again they could both die.
"What the hell is wrong with me? Am I really debating if I should abandon him? He is the only reason I'm alive right now, and I even promised him I'll change, I'm truly the worst." Ashly says as she walks outside.
Ashly is going to kill Robert, and make sure Lucas survives. Ashly should believe in Lucas, and she knows that he is going to wait for her. Ashly then loads her gun, and she hears more gunshots and she takes a deep breath.

Ashly and Lucas continue to run away, they are at a decent distance or so they think. Ashly can see Lucas is gasping for air again while she she perfectly fine.
"I have never seen someone dodge a bullet before like that. Now I definitely know we won't be able to kill him." Ashly says as she keeps on checking.
"Yeah I didn't expect that either, my whole plan didn't involve that. You're right Ashly, we should of ran away." Lucas says and Ashly grabs his shoulder as they begin to run again.
"Well I'm glad you understand why I wanted to run away, this time we definitely know more about him." Ashly says.
Ashly and Lucas were making sharp turns around the district. Lucas hopes by makin random turns Robert won't catch up or find them.
"I don't think this is possible, but maybe there is still a chance to find my parents. I mean after we escape and all this is done, I still think it's possible." Lucas says.
Ashly sighs, "I'm sorry Ashly but I just can't help it, I'm at the closest I've been to finding them in all this time." Lucas says.
"Listen Lucas, we just need to run away, I don't want to repeat myself. If you die there would be no chance you'll find them." Ashly says, but there is something else she wants to tell him.
She wants to tell him about almost abandoning him, but she doesn't know what he will say. He won't be so glad that she lied to him again, and that she was taking advantage of the situation.
"Lucas, I was going to abandon you and let you die. I'm sorry, but I don't know why I thought of that, I don't want to think about things like that." Ashly says trying to make sure he understands that she is sorry.
"I'm glad that you're being honest with me Ashly, I doubt you would of changed so much in this short amount time. I'm glad that you're learning, and it's my fault you thought of that, you were just thinking about reality." Lucas then smiles at Ashly.
Ashly smiles back, "It's so messed up that we are actually bonding in such a fucked up senario. It's more fucked up after what I just told you." She says.
"Yeah I know, it's weird, but does it make us look crazy? I sure hope not as I don't want to tell my parents that I've gone mad." Lucas says.
