"Ashly, a bunch of innocent people are being killed." Lucas can't help but try to cover his ears, why is this happening all of the sudden?
"Just ignore it Lucas, don't get distracted or else you will be next." Ashly says as she still is holding onto Lucas.
Ashly looks at Lucas who looks distraught, "Listen, I know you don't like watching people die but it's unavoidable. Sure they are innocent, but that's not our problem, let the authorities take care of it."
"Ashly, what if we can make him leave the area?" Lucas says which Ashly can't believe he is saying, "His targets are us so we can try to bait him into leaving the populated areas."
"Yeah that's such a great plan Lucas, I'm so happy we have something that can defend ourselves." Ashly says sarcastically, "We have nothing that can help us Lucas, you're asking me if I want to die."
"I'm sorry I said that, but I don't want to know people are dying." Lucas says as he begins to sweat a bit, his heart is beating fast.
"Listen, there are a bunch of officers or whatever they are. Let them handle this, isn't this supposed to be the safest place? We should be worried about our own lives. We just need to get our things, and then we are out." Ashly says as she doesn't want to listen to Lucas at the moment.
As Ashly speaks to Lucas trying to knock some sense into him. Ashly bumps, and pushes people, she can hear Lucas saying, "Sorry." to every person.
Ashly wants to tell Lucas to focus on running as people are too scared to argue, but she knows he won't listen.
"Ashly, are you really okay with this? With people dying." Lucas asks as Ashly lets go of Lucas.
Ashly stays silent for a little bit as if she is thinking, "Look, I'm not really glad about our current situation alright. Honestly unlike you I'm not really thinking about others because we can't do anything."
"Yeah you're right, I'm sorry I just can't help but think about the people who are dying. They don't deserve this, and I have no idea why he is killing them." Lucas says as he begins to pant a bit, it seems he hasn't done much physical activity in a while.
"Lucas, we have to value our lives first, we are also as important as these random people. Listen Lucas, if he catches up to us we will die, do you want to see your parents or not?" Ashly asks and he nods, "Well, you can't if you die so you should just ignore them."
"Ashly you're right, but what about my parents? What if he gets to them? Ashly I don't want to imagine my parents being at risk." Lucas says with a worrisome voice.
"Listen to me Lucas, the chances we find them are almost nonexistent. The chances he finds them is as low as ours, we need to just leave." Ashly says.
"You don't get it Ashly, this guy is really good at finding people. I showed him the frame of my parents, he has an idea on how they look like. He's been after you for a while Ashly, and he found you. Who's to say that he won't find my parents who don't know that they are being targeted?" Lucas says.
Ashly then thinks about her gun, she did sneak it inside, but can she really kill Robert? It's useless to think about that, they should just focus on running away. She doesn't know how dangerous he is, but she knows she can't confront him.
——-
Robert is walking down the street with a smile, he is confident. They are all animals to him, they run in fear which makes him feel something. What he feels isn't bliss, but anger as he describes it.
He watches as people begin to push each other, watching them knock each other down. Are they sacrificing each other in hopes of running to safety?
"Danger really does show people's true colors, they aren't so different from criminals as I can see." Robert says.
He has his eyes on a specific woman, he isn't in a rush to kill Lucas or Ashly. He is confident he will catchup to them before they leave, and if they do, he will just have to wait.
The woman who he is walking to pushed an elderly man. He stands next to the old man, and he begins to laugh.
"Please young man, don't kill me I didn't do anything wrong." He begs Robert who begins to crouch.
"Don't worry old man, I won't hurt you at all." He says as he taps his gun on the man's chin. "I just want to ask you a question, are you angry at that woman who pushed you?"
"W-what…well of course I am angry, I'm right here facing you. I wouldn't have if she didn't push me, please let me live." The old man says in fear.
Robert then pulls his gun away from the man, "Alright then answer my second question, would you have done the same thing?" The old man is silent, "Hey old man, I'm asking if you would of pushed her if you were in her position." Still the old man says nothing but darts his eyes.
"Well look at that, you're angry at her for something you would of done as well. What a complete hypocrite, maybe I should kill you." Robert says as he taps his gun.
"Please let me live I don't wan to die, I'll give you anything." He says begging for his life.
Robert then smacks the old man, "Hey, everyone else doesn't want to die either, you're not special. Listen to me I'm not here for justice or to prove a point." He says as he puts his gun down.
"I'm not here to dictate who lives based on their actions, that's just boring, and a waste of time. I kill people for different purposes, you'll never understand why." He says.
The old man stands up, and begins to run away from Robert. Robert looks at him and sighs, he then shots him down.
Robert stands up and begins to walk again. He takes a few sniffs, and continues to walk. "None of them are exciting to kill, it's like squishing a bug." He says.
"Maybe I should retire after killing these two." Robert says but then he starts laughing, "I'll never retire, if I do I'll just kill myself."
Robert can hear two footsteps approaching him, and he turns to see two officers. One of them seems to be young probably a rookie, the other one is his senior. They both have their guns pointed at Robert.
"Drop your weapon!" The senior officer said, "I don't want to rep-" Robert shots him right on his neck, and he falls to the ground.
The young officer jumps a bit, and he pulls the trigger but he misses. "Listen, pull that trigger again, and you're dead. I am much better than you, and unlike you I'm not scared." Robert says.
"Just listen to me, drop your gun, and I won't kill you. Just go ahead and run you're young, and you have your whole life ahead of you. Don't risk your life in this unfavorable situation, and be smart." He says to the young officer.
"How do I know you aren't lying to me?" The officer says as his heart begins to pump fast.
Robert looks the officer in the eyes and says, "I don't like lying as much as you might think, I only lie to those I want to kill." The officer still isn't buying it which makes Robert frown a bit, "Alright you lost your only option."
The young officer shots at Robert, but Robert pulls the trigger first killing him instantly. Robert is disappointed that the officer's shot only gave him a scratch on his left arm.
Robert walks up to the dead officer, "That's to bad, I had a feeling you had so much potential. I wanted you to live, and grow into something worth killing." Robert then walks pass his body.
Robert sniffs again and he smiles, he found his other target. The lady who pushed the old man spots Robert, and she freezes.
"Wait let me go, I don't know what you want, but don't kill me." The lady said crying, "Listen, my father has a lot of money, he'll play you any amount if you let me live." She said.
"As long as you don't lay a finger on me you will be set for life. Isn't that a great deal, just leave me be."
"I just saw what you did to that old man earlier, that was entertaining. I really like cowards because they will let others die if it means they get to live." Robert says with a straight face, "Honestly it's great that you're doing anything necessary to survive. Though it's sad that I have to kill you."
The lady begins to cry harder which Robert doesn't like, "Hey lady, don't cry right now, you are making me look like a bad guy." He then chuckles a bit from his stupid remark, "Listen, I won't make you suffer at all, It'll be a fast and painless death."
Robert then points his gun at her chest, "Just close your eyes and accept death." He says softly, and she closes her eyes crying. He pulls the trigger, but nothing happens.
The girl opens her eyes and is confused, but Roebrt begins laughing loudly, "Man that was sort of fun, I can't believe you were this scared. Just go I won't waste my bullets on someone like you." Robert says as she begins to run away.
Robert then begins to think about Lucas's parents, would killing them be that satisfying? Of course it will as he will defining be able to see the absolute despair in his face.
"I'll just find them easily, but should I kill them when he finds them or before? I just can't choose which will be better." He says to himself.
The only thing he has to worry about is Ashly, would she help him out? She doesn't seem like the type to help out others when they first met.
He ignores that as he isn't in a rush to complete his task. But he then stops as he can smell the scent of Lucas, he turns around to where he can hear Lucas yelling.
Why has Lucas returned back to him? Is he stupid or does he want to die? No, it's obviously because Lucas knows he will go after his parents which excites Robert.
He begins to take his time going to where Lucas was yelling. He walks and then he arrives at a street, this is where he heard his yelling.
Before he walks into the street to show himself he pulls out a coin. He gets behind a wall, and uses its reflection to check if Lucas is there. As he suspects Lucas is all alone, so Lucas is luring him somewhere.
Robert begins to think for a bit, and decides to play along as he has nothing to worry about. Robert then gets out of his hiding area, and shots at Lucas but misses on purpose. Almost immediately does Lucas jump a bit, and runs inside a building.
"What the hell is this kid planning? Where is that girl?" Robert asks himself. He then thinks that maybe she is inside the building.
Robert then thinks that maybe Lucas is just stupid. What kind of plan does he have, and why is he putting himself in danger?
