Back before Ashly and the old lady meet, Lucas and Philip are walking together.
Lucas is feeling both nervous, and excited that it's happening. Finally after all this time he is going to actually take another step closer to find his parents.
"Don't be to shy now, we are going to give that farm a little visit. I want you to have a small reunion, you know for the feelings." Philip said.
"Yeah thanks sir, I'm just exited to finally see my home. It's been so many years that it feels like a dream to me." Lucas says with a weird smile.
"I won't blame you at all kid, I've had my fair share of reunions. It's a wonderful feeling to be able to just have that moment without a worry." Philip said as he walked slowly.
Philip's legs aren't as great as they used to so he isn't trying to stall time. He knows how the anticipation gets stronger the longer it takes to get to that moment.
"Sorry if I'm making this seem more intense than it has to. My legs aren't that good anymore, I do apologize if you get more nervous." Philip said.
Lucas turns to Philip, "No it's alright I get it, age does things to people. I won't be impatient as I waited many years for this moment to happen." He tries to reassure Philip.
As they continue to walk Lucas couldn't help, but ask one question, "Philip, how much would it cost to buy the farm from you? I want to know the exact price if that's alright with you."
"Well we were going to have that conversation sooner or later. Well I'll be generous, and say that an acre of land would be 70 silver coins." Philip said.
Lucas eyes widen a bit by that amount. "Yeah that's expensive, but I understand. Owning land this close to the district would make it pricey."
"Yeah don't worry this small trip won't cost you anything." Philip said as a joke, "After all this was your parents old land.
"Yeah thank you very much, I just can't believe this is happening." Lucas says as he fiddles with his hands for a bit.
It's an hour away, but they have all the time in the world. They take a carriage, and chat for a bit until they arrive.
"Listen to me kid, I know you're nervous, but don't be embarrassed about it. This is something special to you so don't try to hide it. I don't mind it at all as it reminds me of someone I knew." He said with a sincere smile.
"You know kid, I was at fist a bit off put by the injury of your ear. I'm sorry but I judged you a bit because of that." He said.
"It's alright as you understand me well, I just can't express my gratitude enough." Lucas says as he touches his right ear.
"Do you know what happened when you bought my parents land?" Lucas asked as he looked at Philip showing that he is only asking a question.
"Well I'll be honest with you kid, at first I just didn't care that much. To me it was just land that I bought, but after a few years I just changed my mind. If I knew that this would have happend I wouldn't bought it, and I'm sorry." Philip says as he looks away from Lucas.
"Don't worry about that, it's all in the past now. There's no reason to apologize as it wasn't your fault, as long as I see the farm I'm fine." Lucas says as he tries to reassure him.
After an hour of traveling, they have arrived at the farm. Lucas looks outside, and he already feels nostalgic. As they step outside Lucas can see the farm, and it looks very old. Even though it looks almost exactly how it did when he left.
"Can I check some places?" Lucas asked as he is trying to not cry a bit, he is finally here. He turns and Philip nods allowing him to have a look.
Lucas takes his time as he checks the outside, "Why does it look a bit neglected? Not trying to complain, but it's prominent." He says as he can see that the grass is tall and the windows are dusty.
"Yeah sorry about that, I was planning to sell it to a relative originally. Things just didn't go according to plan, and then I wanted to sell it to a friend but things changed." Philip says.
"Take your time kid, I have nothing else to do for the moment." Philip watches as Lucas just observes his surroundings like a child.
Lucas decides he is going to enter the house, he touches the door and it's old. He opens the door and it creaks open. It's a bit dusty, but it's his home. As he looks at the stairs he suddenly remembers something, he left a frame in his bedroom before he left.
Lucas and Philip who entered the house both go upstairs to his old bedroom. As they enter the room, right on the drawer was the frame. It's dusty but Lucas picks it up, and blows the dust away.
As he did the frame became clear, and right there were his parents. It was a family picture, and he smiles as he now finally remembered how they looked like.
"Here it is, this was the photo of my family when I was around five years old. I will defnilty buy the farm, but I still need a few more things so it will be great if you can wait." Lucas said as he held the frame.
"Yeah that's fine with me, I have no need for this farm anymore. I guess I'll have something to wait for then." He says smiling at Lucas.
Back at the inn, Ashly is sitting down eating something. Ashly then hears the door open, and it's Lucas who had returned. Ashly notices he is smiling widely, and she guesses that he found the man.
Lucas shows Ashly the frame, "Ashly, I finally did it, I spoke with him. The man who owns the farm, and all I have to do now is find my parents. I asked an officer, and he told me he remembers seeing them yesterday."
"Oh that's…great Lucas, so that means that we can just look around this place that's full of hundreds of happy faces. This won't be too much of a problem except for the fact that today is the last day of the festival, and that we are half way through the day." Ashly says.
Ashly can see by Lucas's expression that she said something worrying. "I didn't mean to be rude or anything, we can start looking around."
"Well may I ask, what have you been doing all this time? I presume you just woke up or did you go out?" Lucas asked.
"I did nothing today, I just looked around, and I'm sorry that I didn't go. I want to make it up to you so let's not waste any more time." Ashly said.
"I'm glad you're at least trying Ashly, you're right we should go now. Maybe this will help you feel like you changed." Lucas says as he sits down for a bit.
"Ashly I want you to meet my parents, and when you do I don't want you to be mad at them. Yeah it's bad that they left me behind, but I just can't hate them at all."
"Why not Lucas? Being abandoned is very bad, and to think you could of died. That's not something you should let pass so easily." Ashly says.
"I know but they are my parents, and it's hard hating them when all you knew about them was love. I guess that's what being biased is, I just want you to greet them. I want to rekindled our friendship again Ashly." Lucas says.
"Alright Lucas I'll try, but I don't want anymore bullshit. I don't want to use you again, and this time it will be genuine." Ashly says.
"Well then I guess we should start finding them right now." They both go outside, and Lucas holds the frame close to his chest.
Lucas begins asking around if they saw his parent, and he shows them the frame. He hopes that although time had passed, they would look similar to their younger years.
As they continue to walk around Ashly spots Robert. He sees Ashly and waves at her, Ashly taps Lucas shoulder, and he turns around to see Robert.
"This is great Ashly, Robert is great at finding people." Lucas begins to walk to Robert with a sigh of relief. Ashly walks behind him, but she feels a bit uneasy.
"Hey Lucas, maybe we shouldn't bother this man, I don't have a good feeling." Ashly says to Lucas but he ignores her.
"Hey there, I know this is a bit of a nuisance to you since this is going to be the second time I'm asking for your help. I want to know if you can help me find my parents as you're great at finding things." Lucas asks as he lowers his head.
"Oh you want my help once again, well it can't be helped. I'm really a reliable man after all, I wouldn't blame you." Robert says.
Lucas turns to Ashly who is holding his shoulder, but when Lucas looks away. Robert takes a piece of paper out. Ashly looks at it and she begins to sweat a bit, and Lucas sees her reaction.
Lucas turns and sees the piece of paper has a drawing of Ashly, and it says to kill this woman.
"Listen to me you two, a man who calls himself Donovan hired me. He is impatient, but he has full trust in me." Robert says as he smiles at both of them.
Before Lucas can say anything Ashly forcefully drags him away. Ashly can see Robert is slowly pulling something out of his pocket.
Ashly is pushing people out of the way, and she can hear them cursing at her. She doesn't care as she knows this ain't good at all. She needs both of them to be in a safe spot.
"What's happening Ashly? This is out of nowhere." He says as he turns, and begins to run with Ashly, "What am I missing? I can tell this isn't good at all."
"Lucas, thats the man." Ashly says and Lucas is confused, "I mean he is the one who wants to kill me. We are both in danger Lucas, I can't tell you how much you were facing death."
"Lucas, I want you to understand that your6 his target as well. Why would he show both of us his plan if he isn't going to kill us?" She says and Lucas understands quickly.
In the other side Robert watches as they both try to run away. He smiles at them, and stretches a bit, "I do love it when they try to run away from fear." He says.
A man then bumps into Robert and tells Robert to watch where he is walking, but Robert doesn't like that. "Oh, so it's my fault you couldn't see." Robert says.
The man tries to argue with Robert, but Rober pulls out his gun. He points it directly at his forehead, "Can you say that again? I don't think I fully heard you."
As Lucas and Ashly continue running they both hear a gunshot. Lucas turns his head around, and he can see people running away and screaming. Robert is being dead serious about this, is he crazy?
Lucas's heart skipped a beat as he heard that gunshot, but that's the least of their concerns. Ashly continues to pull Lucas not wanting him to slow down at all.
