Nothing moved.
The land was flat and white, stretching for miles in every direction.
Pale sunlight glanced off the snowfields, broken only by the occasional jagged ridge of ice.
Then on the horizon something disrupted the monotony.
Not a mountain.
Not natural.
A crystalline structure jutted from the ice like a massive spearhead.
Its spires were smooth and angular, catching the cold light with a faint shimmer.
It didn't belong to the landscape,it hadn't formed rather it had been placed... deliberate...isolated and alien.
'I think that should be the fortress,why so far...Ahhh'
Jayden simply sighed and began to exert force on the ground, with a simple push he took off from the ground as he propelled himself to the sky.
'Others can fly but not me, Superboyprime received all his abilities at the same though... BUT NOT ME!!!'
Jayden looked at the sky and noticed that it was night time however his vision was clear as day, Jayden soon crashed near the fortress due to his unplanned landed.
'I think some of the snow is inside underwear...my balls feel comfortable...nice'
"What are you doing here"
Jayden quickly rose from the ground and turned his head as he followed the origin of the voice.
Up above, cutting through the wind, was a dark silhouette hovering in the sky.
It wasn't a bird.
It wasn't a plane.
It was him.
Jacket
Black shirt.
Red symbol.
No cape.
Superboy.
His body hung in the air with precise control, arms slightly at his sides, red "S" burning faintly against his chest, eyes narrowed as they locked onto Jayden.
'Arghh fuck my luck, why did it have to be the crash out King'
"OM MY GOD, Conner....is that you... since when can you fly"
Jayden quickly used his palm to cover his mouth and 'tears' began to stream from his eyes, this display made Conner flinch as he took a step back.
" Jayden??? what the hell are you wearing, and what are you doing here"
Jayden simply frowned as he listened to Conners words, he gazed deeply into Conners eyes as he said:
"Am I not supposed to be here... and why are you saying my name like it's a slur"
Conner's eyes began to twitch as he heard the absolute nonsense from Jayden, despite Jayden's calm demeanor his heart beat told Conner otherwise.
"You are thousands of miles away from the farm and you're telling me that bull shit boy have you gone mad, I asked you what are you doing here....you got your powers didn't you??"
Jayden simply looked aside and began to nod, the fact the back of his underwear was damaged during his fall and exposed his ass didn't help his situation.
"Ahh.... how did you know, is there anything that stands out from your perspective"
Conner simply took of his Jacket and threw it at Jayden, he then cleared his throat as he said:
"Your heart is beating so fast that it would've caused an organ failure if you were a normal human, your clothes are torn due to the intense heat generated by air friction and lastly...I saw you approaching the fortress "
Jayden simply sighed and began to explain how his abilities awakened the previous day.
"As to how I know about this place...I heard grandma and grandpa speak.. about it"
Did he lie about how he knew the fortress no, did he filter the truth yes, was it necessary yes...yes it is was necessary indeed.
"Oy what are you doing"
Jayden almost roared as he felt himself lifting from the ground.
Conner had grabbed the back of the jacket now draped over Jayden's shoulders and hoisted him into the air with one hand.
The movement was effortless, casual, and annoyingly controlled, like scruffing a misbehaving puppy.
Conner took a simple step and they appear near the door of the fortress, He then retrieved a crystal from his pocket that made Jayden very curious.
"I thought I felt kryptonite...Nah it must have been the wind or else you would have passed out in its proximity "
Hearing Conner's words Jayden quickly checked his fingers and noticed that the ring was no longer there.
'I must have lost it when i crashed '
The crystal in Conner's hand began to levitate and entered the door, the door began to open and Jayden saw Kelex cleaning the fortress.
[A/N: For those who don't know Kelex is a neat little robot helper who has served to keep the fortress running and operational]
"Good evening Master Kon-el and Master Val-el"
"Jayden meet Kelex, Kelex meet Jayden..or Val-el "
Jayden revealed an awkward smile and began wave his hand towards Kelex who reciprocated the greeting, he then looked at Conner and said:
"What...are we doing here and can you please put me down I am not a dog"
Conner simply ignored him and move closer to Kelex.
"Kelex, Superman is off world and Bru... Batman is at the Watchtower can you run an analysis on his body"
"Affirmative, Master Kon‑El.
All entry vectors are sealed, internal sensor netting activated, and environmental systems adjusted to preserve thermal stability."
A blue wave of light began to engulf Jayden and after a few seconds Kelex turned to Conner and Said:
"I have conducted the Analysis as you wished Master Kon-el, would you like to know the full analysis"
"Yes please" said Conner as he replied with a nod.
" "According to his genetic and physiological markers, the subject known as Jayden, or Val‑El, possesses a hybrid Kryptonian genome more specifically, a strain that strongly resembles the unique cellular matrix of Kal‑El… but with radical deviations."
Conner raised his eyebrows but Kelex just continued as it said:
"His Kryptonian cells appear to have only recently undergone catalytic activation a spontaneous ignition of photonic energy absorption triggered by prolonged exposure to solar radiation, specifically in the G-type main-sequence stellar category known colloquially as a 'yellow sun.'"
Kelex hovered slightly forward, scanning Jayden once more as subtle blue beams laced his frame.
"What is anomalous Master Kon-El, is the efficiency.
His solar energy retention is exponentially higher than any recorded in your own physiology or even that of Kal-El at the time of his initial activation.
His cells do not merely absorb solar radiation… they bind and store it with an aggressive metabolic throughput.
A single day under this star appears to have yielded cellular adaptation equivalent to several weeks of solar exposure in standard Kryptonian cases."
"Kelex" Conner raised his eyebrow and continued as he said:
"Are you leaving something, your reply sounds like a response based on prediction"
"Indeed, Master Val-el was scanned when he was an infant so this information supports the previous prediction... what is your next course of action Master Kon-el"
"It seems like I have to teach him what Superman taught me... and yet this is supposed to be my vacation month"
