Third Person POV
"Maya was right," Lucian thought, remembering what she'd said at the spa the other day. Something was wrong, not wrong exactly, but different, with Selene.
"Maya?" Selene asked suddenly.
His eyes widened in shock as he stared at her.
"What about Maya?" He asked
Selene shook her head, looking confused. "Don't worry, I thought I heard something."
"Like what?"
"'Maya was right?' But it's probably just my imagination." She brushed it off. "And I feel better now…" She paused, noticing the surprised look on Lucian's face.
Lucian pulled back slightly. She can read my thoughts? he wondered, watching her eyes carefully to see if she'd respond to his mental question. That's not possible. Maybe we just happened to think about the same thing.
"Are you okay, Dr. Lucian?"
"Yeah, I am," he smiled, taking her hand and pressing it gently, protectively. He touched her forehead and felt that her fever had broken.
"I'm sorry." She said softly
He shook his head.
