I was at the shopping district one day. I still had to suppress the urge to ingest sugars and other unhealthy foods. I selected a turkey that was listed as "99% lean," in bold letters. I paid for it, as well as a pound of brown rice and some vegetables.
I was on my way home when the world went dark. Only for a split second. I convinced myself that I had imagined it.
Then the sunlight was blocked again. It was so quick I had barely noticed it. However, the other civilians had looked up at the sky and began muttering.
"It's probably just a bird." I told them. A few of them agreed, going about their daily lives. Then the thing that was big enough to eclipse the sun crashed into the street. Chaos ensued.
