As Tanjiro approached Kyogai, the void threads appeared before him.
Using the First Form, Water Surface Slash, he severed Kyogai's head.
After landing, Tanjiro breathed a sigh of relief. The sudden deep breath caused a sharp pain in his chest.
"Ouch, ouch, ouch~"
His Nichirin sword fell to the tatami mats. He clutched his chest, kneeling in pain.
"Brat!"
Kyogai's severed head spoke.
Tanjiro turned cautiously.
Kyogai asked, "Answer me one question. Was my drumming good?"
Tanjiro paused. "Good! But your crimes are unforgivable!"
"Is that so?" Kyogai's questioning tone held a hint of resignation.
Kyogai's head and body began to dissipate.
Tanjiro remembered Tamayo's request.
He took out the blood collection tool given by Yushiro, inserted it into Kyogai's dissipating body, and the tool automatically drew blood.
Tanjiro marveled at the tool's automation.
He removed the tool and examined it.
"Meow~"
A cat appeared, with a charm on its collar.
Tanjiro recognized Yushiro's charm. "Are you here to take the blood back to Lady Tamayo?"
The cat nodded.
Tanjiro placed the blood in the cat's small backpack.
"Thank you. Be careful on your journey!" He patted the cat's head.
The cat left, turning into red smoke a meter away.
Tanjiro was shocked. "Is that Yushiro's Blood Demon Art?"
He remembered Mina and her brother, picked up his Nichirin sword, sheathed it, and left.
Only Kyogai's body remained, beyond saving even by Muzan Kibutsuji.
Following the scent, Tanjiro found Mina and her brother.
When the magical drum turned to ash, Mina's brother knew Tanjiro had won. The drum disappeared with Kyogai's death.
Tanjiro opened the door, smiling at the siblings hiding inside.
"Let's go!"
