Chapter 119 - Chapter 120: How Are You This Powerful?!

Chapter 120: How Are You This Powerful?!

"What?!"

"How can you possibly be this strong?!"

After a moment of stunned silence, Marcus finally screamed, his voice full of disbelief and shock.

His eyes widened in sheer horror as he stared at Alex like he'd just seen a ghost.

God help him—Marcus had never seen anyone this powerful before.

Not even the Supremes he'd known and feared in the past could compare. In fact, Marcus now doubted whether even the Progenitor, Dracula himself, could stand a chance against this man.

"You—?"

Alex didn't respond to Marcus's outburst. He simply furrowed his brows slightly, his gaze growing colder and sharper by the second.

A chill ran down Marcus's spine.

"Supreme, please… forgive my earlier offense!" he blurted out, scrambling up from the ground and lowering his head in a deep bow before Alex.

"Marcus pays his respects to the Supreme. I was blind and ignorant—please don't hold it against me!"

His voice was low, deferential, completely devoid of the arrogance he'd shown just minutes ago.

"I—Viktor —also greet the Supreme!"

Not daring to hesitate for even a moment, Viktor rushed to Marcus's side and bowed just as deeply.

As for Amelia and Kraven, who had already pledged their loyalty, there was no need to say more.

Amelia now held Alex in even deeper awe, while Kraven's submission had finally become truly genuine, from the bottom of his cold undead heart.

Alex glanced down at Marcus. His voice was calm, but the threat in it was unmistakable.

"Marcus, I'll overlook your first offense because you didn't know who I was. But next time… it won't just be your wings I tear off."

Marcus shuddered uncontrollably at the memory of those searing heat rays.

They were like silver or garlic—natural vampire banes.

Ever since Alex sliced off his wing, Marcus knew it would take months, maybe longer, before it could regenerate.

"I, Marcus, swear unwavering loyalty to the Supreme from this moment on!"

He spoke with utmost sincerity—or at least, he tried to sound that way.

Whether it was true or not, Alex couldn't say. Marcus was a vampire—he had no heartbeat, so Alex couldn't pull a Daredevil and listen for lies that way.

Not that it would've mattered. Even if Marcus weren't undead, someone at his level wouldn't betray himself with such basic tells.

But Alex didn't really care either way.

His overwhelming power was all the insurance he needed. If Marcus dared to act out again, he'd just end him. Simple as that.

"You think I care about your loyalty?"

Alex chuckled coldly and turned to leave without another glance.

Marcus and Viktor exchanged a look, then quickly followed behind.

"Supreme, please wait!" Marcus called out, his voice now full of respect instead of arrogance.

"We would like to ask your thoughts on the succession ceremony."

Even though both elders had acknowledged Alex as the new Supreme, a formal ceremony was still customary—to inform the rest of their clan and signal their new leadership to other factions.

Like getting a marriage license and holding a wedding.

"Handle it when I have time."

Alex waved his hand, clearly uninterested.

Ceremonies were just fluff. If your power was enough, you didn't need them. And if it wasn't… they didn't help anyway.

"I'm hardly presentable right now, so I hope the Supreme will forgive me. Let Viktor and Amelia escort you out instead," Marcus said apologetically, covered in blood and still reeling from his earlier defeat.

Alex didn't care in the slightest. He let Marcus stay behind and allowed Viktor and Amelia to see him off respectfully.

"What's going on?"

"Why are only two elders coming out?"

"Where's Elder Marcus?"

The vampires gathered in the hall couldn't help whispering among themselves when they saw only Viktor and Amelia escorting the Supreme out.

And when they recalled Marcus's earlier scream from within the inner chamber, their unease deepened.

Their fear of the new Supreme intensified.

"That's far enough," Alex said as they reached the gates. "Selena can take me from here."

The two elders bowed deeply and respectfully stepped back.

Viktor turned to Selena with a solemn expression.

"Selena, the Supreme is now our clan's highest authority—our very soul. Serve him well. Don't slack off for even a second, understand?"

"I understand, Elder Viktor !" Selena replied obediently, her expression reverent.

She respected Viktor deeply—he had always been her biggest supporter within the clan.

No more words were needed. Selena personally drove Alex away from the castle.

Viktor and Amelia returned to the hall, where Marcus was still a bloody, wretched mess.

"Marcus," Viktor said, eyeing him sharply, "you saw the Supreme's power for yourself. Since you've pledged loyalty, I hope that's not just talk."

If the Supreme had been weak, they might've tolerated some scheming. But now? Marcus trying anything would only bring disaster on them all.

"Don't worry. You're misunderstanding me, Viktor ," Marcus replied solemnly.

"I may have lost face today, but I'm honestly glad our clan has someone so powerful to lead us. Who wouldn't want their people to grow stronger?"

Viktor studied him, expression unreadable.

"If that's truly how you feel, all the better."

Still, he silently prayed that Alex really had crushed Marcus's rebellious spirit.

Unlike Marcus, both Viktor and Amelia welcomed Alex's leadership with open hearts.

Especially Viktor —now that they had a Supreme in place, the key hidden within his body would be far safer.
