Chapter 4 - The Great "Calamity" (4)

Elarion looked around and saw a cab driver and a guide

"Hey, can you guide me around. It's my first time here. How much is the pay?"

The guide looked at Elarion and smiled, his voice was soft like the wind

"Just 20 dollars I can show you around."

Then Elarion paid the fee and they went around talking about each location

"There was once a legend about the Mother Tree; they said that it would betray humanity and the elves, helping the calamity that would come."

Elarion looked at the elven guide and asked with curiosity

"What do you mean by this 'calamity' that will come"

The guide smiled at him before continuing

"Interested? Well, it's said that on a night when the moon will be tainted with crimson, a tower will arise from the ground, shooting up towards the sky, piercing the clouds..It's said that the tower contains monsters similar to what we know, yet different. At last, the Mother Tree will aid its need for energy as if recognizing the tower was the same as the world. Within the tower walls lies an entity rivaling the celestial order of this world. Its purpose is unknown, whether it seeks to destroy humanity or help us."

After the guide explained Elarion just stayed silent until the tour around the capital was over

Once the guide was gone and the moon rose up into the night sky Elarion spoke to Aiel

"So the fate of this world is pre-determined. Tell me, Aiel. What truly is your goal?"

Aiel paused before speaking through the system text as normal

"As I said I want to help humanity, and so what if the fate of this world is

pre-determined? We can still change it, one way or another. Why embrace order when you can follow chaos and change everything how you want it to be? Why follow a pre-determined fate when you can change yourself and the world for the better? As for my why I'm helping, you don't need to know for now. Anyway, get right ahead, go into the forest, that's the location we're making the tower in."

Elarion paused before speaking

"Alright. I'll trust you"

After that, he went into the forest walking for a while till they found a clear spot. Just then the system window for the skill appeared and he saw a new skill

[Tower of ???]

Summons a tower based on your choice (when summoning the tower for the first time, a system window shows up to be used as a portal where the design will be submitted). Every choice is unique and different; the monsters themselves will be different. You must sacrifice multiple valuable items into the magic circle that will show up after you choose a design.)

"It's time to choose. Will you follow through?"

Said Aiel through the system text, then Elarion rounded with an insult

"Of course Dumbass, now let's get this started!"

Elarion used the skill and threw the file he had been reading, into the system window

[Thank you for your choice. Wait just some minutes and the tower of your choosing shall arise from the ground.]

"Wait I haven't finished that one yet!'

Elarion yelled out before Aiel responded

"Too late assfuck. Now stay back since I'll dump the items into the magic circle"

The system window that Aiel was using to speak through became a portal, and items poured onto the ground: raw materials, monster byproducts, and minerals used for building the tower. Elarion, seeing this, ran out of the magic circle. After a while, the items are gone.

Just then, a tower shot up into the sky, piercing the skies and clouds, rivaling the height of the world tree, almost obscuring the blood moon, pillars that looked like crimson veins moved as if it was pulsing. The tower itself looked as if it were carved from obsidian. As the tower shot up, chains soon followed it, holding it up Elarion approached the chains and inspected them. he saw that they were made of a serpent's hide. He looked up and saw the clouds clearing for the fire of the tower, he saw a belfry, and a spire on top of it all was a floating burning halo. Then his eyes traveled down the tower once more and looked at the double-arched gate. It looked ominous, and despite it being closed, silent and muffled whispers were heard. His eyes once again traveled the tower's size and he noticed 9 rings circling a layer of the tower, he also noticed there were occasional windows that seemed to be one-way windows, the first ring had the color green, the second gray, the third a light blue, the fourth orange, the fifth a dark blue, the sixth brown, seventh yellow, eighth orange, and ninth crimson red. Then, just before Elarion could think it was over, the ground shook as if there was an earthquake, and giant roots appeared out of the ground, circling the tower itself, each circle bigger than the last. Due to the ground shaking Elarion fell and stayed down till the shaking was over and his eyes saw a giant slash-like line in space itself

"Is it... Finally finished?..."

Elarion said in a silent voice after seeing what humanity calls a 'calamity'

"It is. This is the Tower of The Nine Hells"

Aiel said with a calm voice looking at the tower up and down using the system window, his voice was calm and gentle like a breeze.

"Did your voice just go through the system window?"

Elarion asked

"It seems it did. Now enter the tower Elarion."

Said Aiel in a calm and collected voice

Then Elarion got up and opened the gates it seemed heavy at first as if moving herds of elephants riding airplanes

He saw a hall filled with statues of blindfolded angels, he saw inscriptions on the wall, and he heard ominous whispers. He saw the end of the ball and saw another double-arched gate.
