After they had gotten the information that they wanted from the demons, they moved aside as if they wanted to discuss something in private.
I didn't think that there was anything to discuss, but I still went along with them.
After all, there were quite a few heavy looks on their faces as they gathered around in a circle.
It was clear that there were many thoughts in their minds after hearing what they heard from the demons.
The demon king.
That was a very different concept from just a few demons invading human territory.
It meant that there would be a full scale invasion coming soon as the demon king was the ruler of the demon race. It meant that the demons that had been scattered in their tribes would soon be united in an attack.
The demons were easier to deal with if they were scattered, but much harder to handle if they were to group together.
After all, the stronger demon tribes were much stronger than humans individually. It would take several powerhouses just to take down a single demon powerhouse from one of the stronger tribes.
"What do we do now?" Andrea asked in a heavy voice.
The others looked at her as if they were helpless before turning to look at me.
I couldn't help shaking my head with a bitter smile when I saw this, but I knew what they were looking at me for.
The appearance of a hero…well, it would mean that there was something that the hero would have to fight against. As such, this news that they received about a demon king should be true since there was already a hero.
But at the same time, that meant that my position was much higher than before.
Now that there was a threat to the human race, it was only natural that they would expect me to be the one that took care of the demon king for them.
"We do what we should do at this time." I said before turning to Lulu to say, "Send another message back to the Abel Kingdom about what we discovered here."
She was about to give a nod in response, but Andrea cut her off by saying, "Shouldn't we head back ourselves? These demons were heading to Bristol City, which means that there should be more demons heading there as well."
It really seemed like she wanted to charge back to Bristol City with the way that she was acting.
But I raised a hand to stop her before saying, "What will you do even if you do get back? Do you think that you alone will be able to change anything? Not to mention, there's all those powerful people in Bristol City. Aren't you looking down on the forces of the Abel Kingdom too much?"
An awkward look appeared on Andrea's face when she heard this, but there was still a trace of worry in her eyes.
"Where do you think we're going?" I asked all of a sudden which caught them off guard.
The others looked at me with confused looks until Amy suddenly said, "We're going to obtain the second relic of the hero."
As soon as Amy said this, all of them had looks of enlightenment on their faces.
The demon king was the one that would bring destruction, but the hero was the one that would save them all.
As such, it would be best for the hero to become as strong as possible.
That meant that it would be best for them to get the second relic before anything else happened.
If the hero became stronger before the demon king arrived, it would benefit them far more than just taking care of a few weak demons.
"Then we should head out right away." Andrea said in a firm voice.
The others all nodded in agreement to this.
But before leaving, Amy had to add, "What about these demons?"
The demons that had been tied up on the side had been silent the entire time hoping that they had been forgotten. But in the end, a single word from Amy was enough to bring everyone's attention back to them.
They even wanted to curse out Amy for drawing attention to them like this.
But it wasn't as if they could since she was the one that held their fate in her hands.
Instead, the demons acted like they were agonizing over something before suddenly saying, "We'll tell you whatever you want! We'll even act as your spies among the demons as long as you spare us! Please, just let us live!"
Only the way that I acted was as if I didn't hear them at all.
I just raised the hero's sword and walked over to the demons before swinging the blade covered in light down at them.
The demons were completely caught off guard when they saw this sword come down, but the one that was the most unlucky was the demon that was in the path of the sword.
There was nothing that this demon could even say as they were cut in half by the sword.
"Wait! Let us live!"
Even though they were begging for their lives, I just didn't listen to them at all as I kept swinging my sword.
By the end of it, all of the demons were executed by the hero's sword.
I didn't have any hesitation as I turned around to say, "Come on, let's go."
There were strange looks that were cast in my direction, but I didn't care about the way that they looked at me.
In the end, they all started following me as we headed back on the road.
The reason why I killed all the demons wasn't just because they were demons, but because I didn't want them passing on any more information about the demon king.
While letting them use Val Zahad as a scapegoat wasn't a problem, it was a problem if they gave up too much information about him.
It was still too early for us to make a move after all.
