Chapter 127 - Chapter 127: Human Explosion and Night Ghost Seriously Injured

Containers were being lifted from the cargo ship.

Matt and Stick hid themselves.

For the two gifted individuals, the night was the best time to act.

And many unsavory things often happen in the dark of night.

Stick wanted to test his disciple, asking, "How much information have you gathered?"

Matt pricked up his ears and listened. "I hear many heartbeats."

"Slow, steady, without a single fluctuation."

"There's also a heartbeat, more powerful, different from the others."

As he finished speaking, Stick also said gravely, "It's Xin."

That was a leader of the Hand.

Matt furrowed his brow, continuing to sense. Even from a considerable distance, through heartbeats, breathing, and the sound of clothes rubbing, he could discern more information.

"Some special people are also here."

"Their temperature is higher than normal."

"Their skin is over 40°C. There's one, no, two."

If John hadn't sent the female driver for him, he probably wouldn't have been able to understand the situation so comprehensively.

A normal person reaching this temperature would be lying critically ill in a hospital right now.

But for those injected with the Extremis Virus, it would accelerate their cells.

"MP7 submachine guns with silencers," Matt realized something. "They don't want to make any noise."

In the current Hell's Kitchen, there was still such strength and equipment configuration.

Matt had thought he had a sufficient understanding of the place he was guarding, but now it seemed the waters were still deep enough to hide more people's true colors.

Stick heard this and said, "We will be quieter."

He said, "You take care of the henchmen, I'll deal with the Black Sky."

Matt retorted, "How are you going to do that?"

To this day, he didn't know what the so-called Black Sky was.

Stick simply said, "I have my ways."

Matt still respected his master inwardly. He didn't say more and prepared to act.

"Wait!" Stick held Matt's shoulder, his expression stern. "There's one more person."

Matt listened carefully, and he detected that powerful heartbeat.

It wasn't Xin.

It was another.

Another masked hero of Hell's Kitchen.

Night Ghost.

He was not far away.

For the two with sensitive hearing, the beating heart sounded like a war drum.

Even though Dax had accuracy and physique beyond ordinary people, he was ultimately not someone who had undergone systematic training.

He didn't know how to hide his heartbeat.

"It's him?" Matt said. "He won't attack us."

"We can't let him mess things up." Stick was determined to get the Black Sky and said to Matt, "Deal with it quickly."

Matt nodded and left.

After Matt left, Stick began assembling his weapon.

It was a bow. After assembling it, he drew an arrow and nocked it.

But he was aiming at the approaching Night Ghost.

As he said, he couldn't let Night Ghost ruin his plan.

***

Matt appeared at the dock. Without relying on his eyes, he was like a ghost in the dark night, taking down a gang thug without making a sound and dragging the person into the path between the containers.

He dealt with them one by one, without alerting anyone.

The container was placed on the ground by the crane.

Matt hid himself.

Xin, with his Asian face, had his subordinates open the container.

A tender heart beat, emitting a light melody.

That was a child's heart.

Matt was stunned.

He never expected that what these people went to such lengths to transport at this time would be a child.

"The goods have been delivered to you." A white man wearing a military green short-sleeved shirt that revealed two strong arms walked out. He was one of the two high-temperature individuals and said to Xin, "The deal is concluded."

Xin nodded. "Give him my regards."

His eyes were fixed on the little boy in the container.

The boy was bound with chains, clearly a person, yet treated like a wild beast.

That Extremis Soldier did not leave but looked at Xin.

Xin knew this was a demand for a promise from him. He said, "I remember promising Fisk's request."

"That's good then." The Extremis Soldier nodded indifferently and moved aside.

The child was brought out by Xin's men. Matt was still pondering their conversation.

Suddenly, the sound of a bow being drawn came to his ears. His heart pounded.

The arrow left the bowstring, flying towards that boy.

Without hesitation, Matt immediately acted, blocking the arrow and deflecting it from its path.

The arrow grazed past the boy's ear.

At the same time, it alerted everyone involved in this transaction.

Xin was both shocked and angry. "Kill him!"

He himself was about to leave with the little boy and his subordinates.

The gang members guarding the surroundings took action, firing their silenced submachine guns towards Matt.

The two Extremis Soldiers exchanged glances and immediately attacked.

Matt dodged the bullets, drew his weapon, his twin batons, and struck away the submachine gun aimed at him.

Even if he heard Stick leave, he was helpless. He couldn't get away now.

Cars started and drove away from the dock.

Matt didn't extend the spiked tips of his batons, knocking down the subordinates with blunt force.

Just as he was about to pursue, the high temperature stung his skin. His brow stung; he bent back and flipped to dodge the punch.

He retreated three steps. The two Extremis Soldiers twisted their wrists, making cracking sounds.

Because he hadn't used lethal force, the subordinates he had dealt with earlier staggered to their feet.

"You're Daredevil?" The burly Extremis Soldier raised an eyebrow and said disdainfully, "You look like a weakling."

Matt knew that Stick had already gone after the little boy. Anxious, he said coldly, "Get out of the way!"

The Extremis Soldiers naturally couldn't get out of the way.

One person charged forward, attacking Matt.

Matt dodged left and right, found an opportunity to strike the Extremis Soldier's chin with a baton, then turned and kicked the soldier, making him retreat repeatedly.

He clearly sensed that the temperature of the part that was hit rapidly increased.

The crooked jaw recovered as if it were a spring.

"Last chance." Matt knew he couldn't hold back anymore. The spiked tips popped out from his twin batons, turning them into spiked clubs. "Get out of the way!"

The Extremis Soldier just smiled and pressed forward again.

The recovered subordinates picked up their submachine guns and began spraying bullets.

The Extremis Soldier didn't dodge or evade, relentlessly attacking Matt.

Matt dodged the bullets. The spiked tip struck the soldier's arm, tearing off a large piece of flesh.

The soldier was unharmed. He grinned hideously and grabbed Matt's arms with both hands, the high temperature extending from his palms to the armor on Matt's forearms.

Matt let out a muffled groan. His arms felt like they had touched a red-hot iron plate, causing cold sweat to break out on his forehead.

A gunman behind him aimed at Matt. Just as he pulled the trigger, a throwing knife accurately pierced the gunman's forehead.

The gunman's body swayed, his finger pulling the trigger, spraying randomly into the sky. Then he fell heavily.

Immediately after, those gunmen were pierced by throwing knives one after another.

A bouncy ball hit the container and rolled under the feet of another Extremis Soldier who was watching.

With a bang, it exploded.

The Extremis Soldier was blown away.

Matt took the opportunity to kick his opponent's thigh, pulling hard to free his arms from their sleeves and break free from the restraint.

After landing, he charged forward and leaped, kneeing his opponent's face, deforming it.

The Extremis Soldier retreated repeatedly, orange-red light covering his entire face.

Matt swung his twin batons, aiming for the knees, breaking the person's legs, then passed by, striking the back of the neck with a baton, making the person kneel on the ground.

Originally afraid of killing someone, he hadn't used heavy force at first, but after seeing that terrifying recovery ability, Matt increased his strength.

Having finished the fight, he turned around.

Night Ghost had already dealt with all the gunmen, pulling a throwing knife from a poor guy's neck and putting it back into its sheath.

"How are you here?" Night Ghost saw Matt's dishevelled state and sneered, "Showing mercy to these wastes, you're asking for death."

Matt said anxiously, "Be careful of those two guys, they are very special."

He no longer cared about Night Ghost killing people.

Night Ghost said unhappily, "Don't order me around!"

He turned his head to look, Matt was already ready for battle.

The Extremis Soldier who was blown away stood up again, his hands and feet flowing out like lava, recovering.

The soldier whose kneecaps were shattered also recovered and stood up, his head tilted back, glowing red as he recovered.

It was the first time Night Ghost had encountered something like this, a hint of shock in his eyes.

Visible anger was on the faces of the two Extremis Soldiers. They took out a metal syringe from their pockets and injected it into their necks.

Large areas of orange-red light emitted from their bodies, and their temperature rose.

"You're looking for death!"

They attacked simultaneously, charging towards Matt and Night Ghost.

After being enhanced by the drug, the Extremis Soldiers' recovery ability became even more terrifying.

The wound Matt had just torn open recovered immediately afterward.

Night Ghost was the same, holding throwing knives in both hands, he cut open the Extremis Soldier's palm, which healed in an instant.

Each time it was opened, the person's temperature would rise.

An Extremis Soldier's punch grazed Night Ghost's mask and hit the container, melting a fist-sized hole in it.

Night Ghost didn't hesitate, plunging the throwing knives in both hands into the opponent's neck and pulling hard.

His throwing knives were finely ground from Taran Industries' military-grade alloy, so their sharpness was naturally beyond question.

He slashed through the collarbone.

Large areas of orange-red light emerged. Night Ghost realized something was wrong and decisively protected his face with both hands, curling up his entire body.

The Extremis Soldier exploded, throwing the person away.

His back slammed hard against the corner of the container.

Matt heard the commotion, struck an Extremis Soldier away with a baton, and kicked the person into the flames, letting the explosion blow the person away.

Matt, who dodged the explosion, listened to the faint heartbeat. His expression changed instantly.

"Night Ghost!"
