Nina froze mid-step, her breath caught in her throat.
"Are you… my Patron?"
She whispered, eyes wide, staring at Solarin's calm figure standing firm in the chaos.
The demon king glanced at her, and his smile held both warmth and sorrow.
"Run."
He said again, gentler this time, like a farewell whispered through the storm.
Something inside her cracked, but Nina didn't hesitate anymore.
She turned on her heel and sprinted, following Leo and Hwan as the dark vortex behind them howled louder, devouring the last remains of the unstable palace.
Outside, the sky itself trembled. The walls of the world groaned like they were about to collapse in on themselves.
The ground split, clouds turned a sickly shade of gray, and a red light began pulsing from the heavens.
Hwan nearly tripped as he turned to look.
"Seriously? What kind of cursed luck do we have? I'm sleeping for a week after this—I swear—no one wake me unless the world ends again!"
He barked.
