As soon as we reached the palace hall, the prince leaned on my shoulder almost the entire way.
He didn't say anything, but I could feel his slicked, hard body and his heavy breathing.
Although I wouldn't admit it, I was a little worried. That can't be normal. Vampires don't breathe heavily or feel hot.
When we reached the halls, we continued walking. Thankfully, I remember the way to the prince's room.
Down the halls, I wasn't expecting to see a couple of vampires lingering in the halls, but they turned in our direction upon hearing our light footsteps.
One vampire closer to us saw the prince leaning on my shoulder, ran forward to us, and said with a hint of fear, "What's going on?"
The prince pushed me away gently and stood straight with a ramrod back. He said in a low, raspy voice. "I want to speak with the king."
Although his voice was low, the demand there was undeniable.
The vampire bowed his head with respect. "Yes, my prince."
