The Moonwell's Cry
**Arin's POV**
The scream that tore through my mind wasn't human.
I doubled over, clutching my head as waves of pain crashed through me. It felt like someone was driving hot needles straight into my brain. But this wasn't my pain - it was coming from somewhere else. Something else.
"Arin!" Kael shouted, reaching for me. But the moment his hand touched my arm, he jerked back with a gasp. "What is that? What are you feeling?"
I couldn't answer him. The pain was too strong, too overwhelming. And underneath it, I could hear something that made my blood run cold. Crying. Something was crying in a voice so sad and needy that it broke my heart.
"The Moonwell," I whispered, understanding rushing through me. "It's the Moonwell."
Elder Mava's old eyes widened with what looked like real fear. "Impossible. The holy waters haven't cried out in over three hundred years."
"What does that mean?" Queen Althara asked.
