Chapter 18 - C018 : Arena Fight (4)

Shurry thought about Kali's words for a little bit. Though, even with the small number of memories he had from a previous life… He was unable to fully understand the meaning behind Kali's words. So, he asked a question.

"Mama Kali… Then what is it about?" He asked, wagging his tail expecting an answer.

It was then that Kali put a hand on his head, and pulled him down to the sheets. Why do I feel like he's far smarter than that? I'm a goddess and thus can't be lied to, everything about this boy tells me he's just a kid. Yet there's that feeling like he knows a bit more. "Death is not something to shy away from. Rather a means to a rebirth. It is the end of a mortal's story, and the beginning of a new one."

"It's also a punishment for the wicked. And a terrible fate for the good." Shurry accidentally let his inner thoughts seep out. He was, after all, extremely comfortable right now.

"If you know that much, I don't think you'll have a problem facing those who purposely twist things." She giggled, now holding Shurry like a child holds a teddy bear, or a mother holds their child. "That said, I do love to see horrible, rotten people, regardless of their race, suffer the most brutal of deaths. In that regard, you've made me love today." That tail kept on firing away, his bright childish eyes looking up at her with pride.

The day's matches continued, up until the final match finished. The captain turned to make her report. Kali knew the results already, but, formalities in this case were important. "Lady Kali, today's results, 10 deaths, 10 injuries resulting in draws. And for the little girls category, 2 of the 7 girls failed their final test. As for the boys we had this time around, none of them proved worthy for the tool shed and we will test them again next time."

Shurry's ears raised when he heard the death toll. Kali noticed and smiled. "Are you surprised about that death toll?" She giggled, sitting up. "Criminals like that, don't deserve to be granted the honor of recognition. At no point did they stand and fight back. They are less than maggots. You've killed bugs before, right? It's no different." She said, then realized she might have said a lie.

"But, mama Kali? It is different, that was exciting? Killing bugs, isn't." Shurry contested, with a curious expression. It was like he couldn't tell if he even believed his own words.

"Pfft, while true, such deaths give a joyous sensation. So they might be different in that sense. However, in effect, it's no different than killing pests."

"I do a good job of that!"

"Yes you do! I wonder what kind of criminals will appear in the future?"

An Amazoness from the border guard, everyone could tell due to her particularly less revealing outfit, came into the room to make an urgent report. "Captain, Goddess, Please pardon the suddenness of my entry. But there is a group who wish to enter and speak with Lady Kali." She said, her eyes transfixing onto the little boy. "So cute…"

"Well, who is it?"

Snapping back to reality, she replied. "Yes, it's the God Resheph and his familia. They've brought with them a large number of slaves that they can't take care of."

Kali smiled. "Perfect timing. We could use a few more women here. The men have actually had time to walk around freely. Just the other day one of them nearly bumped into me." She said, "Let them through, we need to look at their wares-"

Shurry spoke up at that very moment, surprising everyone. "Mama Kali, do we really need to look at their wares?" Everyone looked at him with a surprised and confused look in their eyes. "Well, we kill down there, right?" He pointed. "So we should just take them all anyway, right? But make it like we're doing them a favor?"

Kali was shocked that the boy in her arms had the ability to think that far ahead. "So even if the number of men to women is unfavorable for us? We should take them anyway?"

"Yes, after all, if they do commit a crime worthy of the arena, then we get free entertainment out of it."

"And what of the one they committed said crime against?"

"Make it known that they'd be killed for it?" He shrugged. "But, why worry about that? Any level 1 should be able to beat up anyone without a falna."

His words were clearly correct, he had literally just proved it, in the truest sense of the word. "Alright, but we still need to look at them to determine their worth. After this most recent incident, young men are worth far more than before. But knowing Resheph, it's likely he's already had all the boys over a certain age, to be killed."

The captain smirked at her goddesses words. "In that case, we can just run his familia ragged for a few nights to replace the losses. It's not like we need to worry that much. They should be at least level 2, and that means we can really run the village on them." She snickered at the thought. "Go and prepare the aphrodisiac. We're going to have a ton of fun tonight ladies."

"Ugh, I hate doing it with him. He always just stops after a few seconds." Kali mused, nearly cursing. "Sorry Shurry, but I won't be able to keep you to myself today. So instead, stay with your caretaker. I'll make sure to have a full day with you next time." She said, letting go of him. "Oluta, you know to keep him safe and hidden away."

"Understood, We'll go and get our bath now. Oh, but can I have a small crew with me as well? I'm coming due soon, so it's possible I might just have to start caring for a newborn."

"Of course, you can even pick them."

"Excellent, now then, let's go my son." Oluta said, putting a ton of emphasis on that one word. The scowls she got in return to her smiles were priceless. Picking the naked werewolf boy up, she bowed and left the room. "Time to get cleaned up." She said, just loud enough for the others to hear.

"Damn, why does she get to raise that boy into the perfect mate for us. I wanted to do it."

"Oh stop it, let's prepare to let those unruly bastards into our guest rooms."
