Later, in Lady Kali's guest room, she and her rather annoying guest sat. Each with their respective familia's captains standing to their side. Kali was in a different form this time though, opting to assume the depiction of a young adolescent. This was an effort to avoid being ogled at by the unworthy man standing behind Resheph. This little bit of information was more than enough for her guest to give a knowing smirk.
"Kali, you don't have to worry about my children going after you. My captain is smart enough not to anger your familia… Isn't that right?" The god, taking the depiction of a young boy, said, turning his head slightly with a glance.
"Of course, my god. I'd never do something so brazen." The elf smiled with a wicked grin. "My quarry are those women who can't fight back against me. Oh, the thrill."
"Indeed, you do enjoy that, as you should." The god grinned, as he turned back to Kali. "As for myself, I'd rather not be assaulted by your children, Kali." He added. "So, if you would, stop tormenting my child with that helpless form of yours."
"Oh? And you're one to talk. My children would never pin you down. You lack both of the requirements my familia sets forth." Kali said with a grin, shooting down the evil god's words. "You insult my children with that form, so you have no right to complain about mine."
The pair of deities smiled, opting to let the silence take over for a moment. The elf, tattooed from head to toe, made a move, it was sudden. The result was a blow to his gut, and then his face slammed into the floor. Kali Familia's captain was a rarity in the world. She wasn't all that crazy when compared to the likes of Zeus or Hera's children, but she was still a level 5. One of the incredibly rare level 5's outside of Orario. Long story short, the elf never stood a chance.
"Oh my, it looks like your child still needs to learn some manners. Should I have him killed for acting in such a manner?"
Resheph felt a bead of sweat roll down his back. "No, that's fine, I'm sure he's learned that he could never handle a strong woman the likes of which enumerate your familia." He said to quell the sudden snap of the atmosphere. "Well then, about the slaves we brought. I did my best to ensure a few of the girls were untainted. But, well, you know how it goes, my familia needs to have fun too… So, with the amount we brought this time, how about this much." He raised the number 6 with his hands.
"Oh? You really should learn to slow down. At this rate you'll run out of villages to conquer."
"Oh my? Is that heartfulness coming from the goddess of death and destruction, herself?"
"No, you just don't understand them like I do." Kali glared, as if she was about to kill the god in front of her.
One of Kali's executives, the one in charge of the induction of slaves, walked in… Ignoring the clear sign of the elf doing something beyond stupid, she spoke and handed the report to Kali. "Lady Kali, the number this time is rather high. Is… that how much they want for this?" She asked, seeing Resheph still holding the same number up. "Ha, Lady Kali, shall I send him back to Tekai for such an insult?"
Kali was about to reprimand her child, then she read the report on the slave count, and any additional information on their condition. "I've never liked the idea of slavery, but it has proved to be quite effective in giving me plenty more children… Resheph, are you certain that you'd like to keep that number held up?" She asked, opting not to entertain the threat her child just made.
Resheph, being the impossibly astute god he was, knew that Kali would actually let her executive kill him if he didn't change the number, so he dropped his hands. "What do you figure we should do then?" I'm not going back to Tekai now, I'm having way too much fun here.
Kali looked at her executive and nodded, giving her the responsibility to negotiate, as well as confirmation that they would take the slaves regardless. "Well, Lord Resheph, considering past dealings with yourself and other slave traders, we've determined the worth of slaves on an individual basis. We needed to do this for our own reasons of course. That said, we can't negotiate in any good faith with you until we have a good starting point. If you would present one for us, that would be for the best."
What happened next was a rather annoying long exchange of words between Resheph and the Kali Familia executive. The elf wasn't in the greatest of positions at the moment either. Something that was leveraged for an even lower price. Once it was over, the transaction was signed, and the exchange of money took place. This was also the time when the elf was released from the floor.
"That was a new experience. It wasn't so bad." The elf grinned, a little blood dripped down his face. "I don't know why the slaves have a problem with it. It was so exhilarating."
"Perhaps you can see the fun in it, where they can't."
"That must be it."
The two broken people, a god and an elf. Two beings that would under ordinary circumstances be seen as beacons of morality, yet they were the polar opposite. Kali hated dealing with Resheph and his familia. Both constantly twisted what she represented, but they did bring her valuable tools and playthings for her to utilize.
For starters, the women would be freed from their shackles of slavery the very moment that Resheph and his familia left. They would be rehabilitated as citizens of Telskyura, they were women, and thus were treated significantly better than the men. Men were fated to have a very different life in this country. Either be turned into a tool where their day starts and ends with mating, or being a slave where they're worked to the bone and then are also accosted by the Telskyuraian women. Some men actually didn't mind that life, to them it was better than being a tool for the Amazonesses, at least as a slave they got a bit of a break to recover their southern member. Tools also had an unfortunate frequency of having a broken pelvis…
