"Alice, you're a very funny girl. Tears are leaking out the side of my eye. You're cracking me up really bad," Martindale said, still laughing.
"I'm not laughing with you. It's left with you to believe."
"And he's rich and drives that type of car."
"Yes, he is."
"Alice. You're a terrible liar."
"It's left with you to believe what you're about to believe," she said, leaving the toilet.
Alice walked back into the private room. Most of the women had left.
"The game finished early. Some of them had some errands to run, so we had to cut it short," Mrs. Osborne explained as she walked out with Alice.
"I'm sorry about my stepmother. Don't pay any heed to her."
"Of course I won't. I know you wouldn't do that. Victoria is a very shady character and I know very well that sob story she put out there was a lot of crap."
"Thank you, Mother."
"No need to thank me."
They walked out of the mall, going to the car. It was a silent ride home.
