Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Invitation to Collaborate

Robin scrolled further down the thread. The original poster, seemingly surprised by the overwhelming response, had commented:

"I've only just started drawing. Whatever, I'll create a Chat Group: xxxxxx."

After a moment's hesitation, Robin created a burner account, applied to join the group, and was immediately greeted with enthusiastic welcomes from the members.

Free Eagle: Welcome, newbie! Show us your face!

Shallow Blue: Welcome, newbie! Show us your face!

Shu Cat: Welcome, newbie! Show us your face!

Shu Cat: Looks like another like-minded friend has joined our refined gentleman's family.

Invincible Bro: [Forwarded video.jpg]

Invincible Bro: Check this out! I just saw this video on a foreign site of some foreigners going crazy over a robin's song. It's hilarious!

Robin's arrival sparked a brief flurry of repeated greetings, but since she remained silent, the group's attention quickly shifted to the recently forwarded video.

The "newbie, show us your face!" routine was just standard group initiation banter, but Robin couldn't help but wonder: if she actually posted a photo right now, wouldn't she completely shock them all?

No, they probably wouldn't believe her. Instead, they'd bombard her with questions about where she got the photos.

Robin shook her head. She had no intention of revealing her identity. Perhaps because the group had just been formed, its members were unusually active. In the brief moment her attention had drifted, the conversation had already shifted to a completely different topic.

Shu Cat: "Hey, do you think Robin's an Evolver? Her songs are so indescribably beautiful, almost otherworldly. It's like they're enchanted. Could that be her Super Ability?"

Invincible Bro: "I think it's highly likely."

Shu Cat: "Holy crap, if you think about it, could Robin be some kind of mastermind? Spreading songs infused with her Super Ability online to infect as many people as possible, then detonating everything at the perfect moment to execute her evil plan?"

Free Eagle: "Even if it means being mind-controlled, I'd gladly submit! Heh heh heh~~~"

Shu Cat: "See? Someone's already falling under her spell."

Robin stared at the screen, speechless. Her pale fingers flew across the keyboard.

Peace Dove (Robin): "You're overthinking this. If Robin's songs were actually dangerous, the Bureau of Anomalous Investigations would have banned her long ago."

Invincible Bro: "True, if the Bureau of Anomalous Investigations isn't taking action, then there's probably nothing to worry about."

Even though I'm the one working for the Bureau, Robin thought, pursing her lips as she continued typing.

Peace Dove: "But are you really so sure she's an Evolver?"

Shu Cat: "Absolutely! What else could she be? Transformers are incredibly rare, and when they do appear, the Bureau usually recruits them to work for the government. They wouldn't have time for streaming. Evolvers, on the other hand, are everywhere! I even follow a bunch of Evolver streamers."

Peace Dove: "Oh... I see..."

Shu Cat: "Exactly! I've been a loyal fan of Robin since her very first day. Newbie, watch and learn!"

Shu Cat: "Nobody knows Miss Robin better than I do. Pointing thumb at chest.jpg"

Robin couldn't help but burst out laughing at that. Chatting with the group was surprisingly entertaining and a great way to kill time.

They continued to "blab" about the topic for hours until noon, when Robin finally ordered takeout and started preparing for her afternoon stream.

Just then, her phone beeped.

Yun Luo: "Someone wants to collaborate with you on a video. Are you interested?"

It was an executive from Kuaishou. Robin paused, then replied, "What kind of video?"

Yun Luo: "It's with a piano streamer. I'll send you a link."

A link popped up, and when Robin clicked it, the thumbnail showed a slender girl in pink pajamas sitting at a piano.

When she pressed play, the girl's fingers danced across the keys, filling the air with a warm, heartening melody like winter sunlight.

In short, it was a dedicated piano content creator called PiggyPink olo, with approximately 1.2 million fans on Kuaishou.

Robin wasn't surprised by the collaboration offer, given her current popularity. She typed back, "But why are you contacting me personally?"

Yun Luo: "They would have contacted you directly if they could. Actually, they've already messaged you several times, but you haven't responded. That's why they asked me to reach out."

It was only then that Robin realized she hadn't checked her private messages since that first day. With so many messages flooding in—mostly empty flattery or pointless insults—what was the point in wasting time on them?

After a moment's thought, Robin replied, "Sure, why not? What kind of collaboration do you have in mind?"

Yun Luo responded, "I'll share her WeChat contact with you. You can discuss the details yourselves."

Realistically, a collaboration between Robin, a Content Creator with three million fans, and someone with just over a million would typically benefit the smaller account more. Especially considering Robin's rapidly growing fanbase, which was far from its peak.

However, Robin saw it differently. The other creator's video production skills were excellent. All she'd have to do was record a song, and they could create a high-quality video. That sounded great to her. A well-made video would undoubtedly attract more fans and boost her "Songstress" milestone progress far better than her own hastily edited clips. It was a win-win situation.

Just as Robin sent a friend request and waited for it to be accepted, her phone rang again. This time, it was an unknown number.

Robin swiped her phone and answered. A calm, steady male voice came through the line. "Hello, Miss Robin? I'm a manager at Ningke Mutual Entertainment. Your singing is absolutely stunning. Live streaming is practically a waste of your talent. Would you be interested in..."

Without letting him finish, or even uttering a word herself, Robin abruptly hung up. In a way, it could be considered a harassment call. The man was likely from some entertainment company, trying to recruit her into the industry.

But theoretically, only a few people at the Bureau of Anomalous Investigations should have her phone number, along with the information she'd provided when registering on platforms like Kuaishou and Douyin. How had this manager obtained it?

Robin knew that some websites sold user data, including phone numbers and personal information, for a quick profit. Could her number have been leaked by Kuaishou or Douyin?
