Chapter 24 - Save me

Everyone in the hall was utterly shocked by what they saw—this was a sight no one had ever witnessed before.

One person exclaimed, "This is impossible! How can a baby reach the Golden Core Realm at such a young age? Even our Cultivation Emperor, Sai Yan—called the 'Bull of Cultivation' and known as the greatest genius in history—only reached the Golden Core Realm at the age of twelve!"

Another voice countered, "Can't you see it? The golden core energy is still radiating from the child's body. There's nothing unbelievable about this—it's real."

"But do you even understand who Sai Yan is and how insanely talented he was? And now you're saying a newborn child has surpassed him? That's beyond impossible!"

"I know it seems impossible… but it happened. And who are you calling an ordinary child? He is the Young Master of the Demon Clan. If the Great Elder hears you say that, only God knows what will happen to you."

Upon hearing those words, the man immediately fell silent.

Scene shift: Xing Tian

Xing Tian stood motionless, still trying to process what he'd just witnessed.

"Did I really just see that? My grandson... already at the Golden Core Realm?"

It was beyond belief.

But then, his expression shifted. A wide grin spread across his face, followed by a roar of laughter that echoed throughout the hall.

"Haah haah haaah! Hahaha! The greatest genius in the world has been born in my clan!" he shouted proudly, his booming voice shaking the air.

His joy was uncontrollable.

"This time, our clan will dominate the world!"

Meanwhile, inside Grandpa's arms...

That boy—now resting in his grandfather's arms—spoke mentally to his system.

"System, why is Grandpa laughing like a lunatic?"

The system replied calmly,

"As I've told you before, I can't see the future. But I can sometimes predict it… based on facial expressions."

"Okay… so what do you see on Grandpa's face now?" he asked, already nervous.

The system hesitated.

"Let's just say… the future he's imagining doesn't look peaceful."

He stiffened.

"System... how many more tribulations do I have to endure? I want to get out of Grandpa's arms. Right now."

"Only two more."

Hearing that, he silently clasped his hands together in a child's prayer.

"Oh God, please… just send the last two tribulations quickly. Get it over with."

The system sounded amused.

"This is the first time I've seen someone beg God to hurry up and send tribulations."

He replied with a straight face,

"You don't understand. Right now... I'm more afraid of my Grandpa than the tribulations."

Meanwhile, Xing Tian was still laughing like a complete psychopath.

Scene shift: Guest room, earlier

Tian Zhen sat quietly beside the bed, waiting for Angelina to regain consciousness. His face was etched with worry. Every few seconds, he glanced toward her, anxiety clearly written across his features.

Suddenly, Angelina stirred.

Seeing her move, Tian Zhen immediately stood up and rushed to her side.

"Are you okay?" he asked gently.

But Angelina couldn't respond. Her body was still weak—so weak that even opening her eyes took effort. She barely managed to lift her gaze and whisper,

"My baby… where is my child?"

Tian Zhen smiled softly, trying to ease her worry.

"He's with his grandfather right now. Don't worry about him. You should focus on how you're feeling. Are you in any pain? Should I call Elder Su Yan?"

Angelina slowly shook her head.

"No… there's no need."

Her voice was faint, her sentences barely forming.

Seeing her like this, Tian Zhen grew more concerned.

"Alright, alright. But if you're this weak, something's not right. Just wait here. I'll go get Su Yan right away."

He stood up and began walking toward the door.

But before he could leave, Angelina called out,

"Wait."

He turned around immediately.

"What happened? Are you feeling worse?"

Angelina looked at him and, despite her fatigue, gave a weak smile. She didn't want him to worry too much.

Instead, she asked gently,

"Tian Zhen… did we have a boy or a girl?"

Tian Zhen stepped closer and replied with a smile,

"A boy. Why? Do you want to see him?"

Angelina smiled again and said,

"I just wanted to ask something… Did you forget about our old bet?"

Tian Zhen blinked.

"Bet? What bet?"

"I knew it," Angelina sighed. "I knew you'd forget. Do you remember when we first found out I was pregnant, and we made that little bet about the baby's gender?"

And then, Tian Zhen remembered…

Flashback

It had been about a month ago. They were overjoyed when they first found out Angelina was pregnant.

One day, she had asked him,

"What do you want—a boy or a girl?"

Tian Zhen had laughed and said,

"Either is fine. As long as you're healthy, that's all I care about."

But Angelina had kept pressing him, determined to hear a real answer.

Eventually, tired of dodging the question, he had relented.

"Alright, fine. I'd prefer a girl."

Angelina had smirked.

"I knew it. I knew you'd say that. I still don't understand what you men see in daughters that makes you all want a girl as your firstborn."

Tian Zhen had just laughed.

"That's something only men understand."

But Angelina didn't stop there.

"Fine, then let's make a deal. You want a daughter, I want a son. Let's see who gets it right. Whoever loses has to follow whatever the winner says for a whole month."

Tian Zhen had chuckled and agreed.

"Alright, deal."

Back to present

Tian Zhen smiled as the memory returned.

"Yes," he said. "I remember everything."

Angelina gave him a victorious look.

"Then from now on, you have to listen to me. No need to call Elder Su Yan. Just bring me my child."

At first, Tian Zhen hesitated.

"You're still recovering. You should rest."

But Angelina narrowed her eyes.

"Have you forgotten the bet? Do as I say."

With no other choice, Tian Zhen nodded, turned, and walked toward the hall—to bring their son to her.
