At noon, Alex Ray called the whole family together for lunch and explained his upcoming departure.

Wearing an apron, Alex was in the kitchen expertly frying a pan of golden, fragrant rice. His movements were precise and confident—clearly the work of someone used to commanding both a kitchen and a battlefield.

Deadpool stared in awe as Alex flipped the spoon, tossed the wok, and moved with such practiced ease that it looked choreographed. His eyes sparkled with a mix of admiration and despair.

"Alex, how am I supposed to live without you? Can you take me with you? I need your cooking in my life every day!" Deadpool wailed dramatically, clutching Alex's leg as though his very soul depended on it.

The thought of Wanda cooking in Alex's absence made Deadpool shiver uncontrollably. The last time he tried her food, it nearly sent him flying off a rooftop just to escape the taste.

Alex gave him a light kick and sighed. "Get out of the way and serve the food. Don't worry—I'll definitely bring you along if I jump into another universe."

A few minutes later, the fried rice was ready.

Alex stepped out of the kitchen, carrying the steaming platter. The dining table was already covered in mouthwatering dishes, each one more appetizing than the last.

"Alright, everyone, dig in!" Alex called out.

Without hesitation, the entire group picked up their utensils and began to eat.

"So why did you gather everyone here today?" Wanda asked, setting down her chopsticks. She had spent the previous day dealing with the assets left behind by Kingpin, so she hadn't yet heard about Alex's plans to leave.

John Wick, Caine, and Winston turned their attention toward Alex, curious but silent. Though they had questions, they understood the chain of command and held back. Now that Wanda had spoken up, they awaited Alex's answer.

To them—and to most of the newer arrivals—Wanda was the de facto boss lady.

So far, only Pietro and Deadpool knew that Alex was planning to travel to a parallel universe.

The two exchanged a quick glance. Pietro bowed his head and focused on eating, hoping his food would distract from his obvious guilt.

Deadpool, ever shameless, continued eating without pause and casually announced, "Alex is heading to a parallel universe."

"Don't forget to take me with you," he added with a mouthful of rice.

The room froze.

Everyone turned to Alex in shock. None of them expected him to leave so soon.

"Yeah," Alex confirmed. "I'll be leaving in the next couple of days. I don't know how long I'll be gone, so I want to make sure everything's in order before I go."

Wanda's expression darkened. She had just returned and was looking forward to spending time with Alex, but now he was leaving again—and to another universe, no less.

She frowned, her eyes filled with quiet frustration and reluctant understanding. "I want to go too," she said finally, her voice soft but firm.

She wasn't just being emotional—her powers could be a tremendous asset. Traveling to an unfamiliar universe was dangerous, and backup could mean the difference between life and death.

But Alex was stunned. He hadn't expected Wanda to ask to come along.

The multiverse was chaotic and unpredictable. Taking Wanda into such a volatile situation was risky. If something went wrong, the consequences could be catastrophic.

Seeing the unwavering resolve in her eyes, Alex tried to de-escalate gently. "You need to stay behind and handle Kingpin's affairs for me. I trust you more than anyone. I'll be back soon, I promise."

The rest of the table avoided eye contact, clearly not wanting to get caught in the crossfire between their boss and his partner.

Everyone focused intently on their food, pretending not to notice the tension.

Well, almost everyone.

"Stop arguing! I'm the one Alex is taking with him!" Deadpool shouted, pointing his fork in Wanda's direction. "Give it up already!"

He wasn't being malicious—Deadpool simply didn't care who Wanda was. He just wanted to hop universes. After all, what could possibly kill him?

Wanda's eyes flared with crimson light. Her hair began to float, charged with chaos magic as she glared at Deadpool, on the verge of snapping.

Pietro acted fast, grabbing his sister's arm before she lost control and demolished the restaurant.

Deadpool yelped and ducked behind Alex, whining, "Alex, look how scary she is! She's trying to kill me!"

By now, Caine and the others had quietly picked up their bowls and relocated to another table, far away from the brewing storm.

"Alright, enough. Everyone stays here," Alex finally said, stepping in to end the commotion. "Hell's Kitchen still needs you all to keep things running. You're the only ones I can trust with it."

Just then, the restaurant door swung open, and a woman in her early thirties stepped inside with a young boy trailing behind her.

She was graceful and attractive, her figure still youthful despite her age. She scanned the room nervously—her eyes landing first on Wanda, whose hair was still faintly glowing, and then on Deadpool in his full red-and-black gear.

"I think I've come to the wrong place," she muttered awkwardly. "Sorry to bother you."

She grabbed the boy's hand and turned to leave, clearly disturbed. She'd heard that the safest place in Hell's Kitchen was this restaurant—that the owner offered protection, and no one under his roof would be harmed.

But this didn't feel safe. This felt like the heart of chaos.

Wanda quickly regained her composure and stepped forward, eyes no longer glowing. Alex followed suit, trying to smooth over the situation.

"Ma'am, you're not mistaken," he said kindly. "We're definitely hiring. They were just... acting. No need to be scared."

Wanda shot both Alex and Deadpool a sharp look before putting on her best smile and approaching the woman.

"What are your names?" she asked, warm and inviting.

The woman hesitated, still processing the transformation in Wanda's demeanor. It was hard to believe this was the same woman whose eyes had been glowing with raw magical fury moments ago.

"My name is May Parker," she said finally. "This is my nephew, Peter Parker. We're here about the waiter job?"

Alex smiled and nodded. "Yes, welcome. I'm Alex Ray, the owner. And yes—we are hiring."

He hadn't expected this. Just yesterday, he had sent Spider-Man from a parallel universe back to his own timeline.

And now, as fate would have it, Spider-Man from their own world had just walked through the door.
