117. Chapter 117: Sorry, I'm Targeting You

"Alright, Mr. Jervis."

Afterward, Xia Shang returned to the office. As soon as he pushed open the door, he saw Ashley Barrett waiting anxiously, and beside her stood Stormfront, who appeared calm on the surface but was seething with anger.

"What right do you have to freeze my Vought account? Not even Stan Edgar would dare to do that!" Just moments ago, Stormfront was planning to use her Vought account to promote her arrival, but during the livestream, she received a notification about improper account usage, and then her livestream room was shut down.

So she found Ashley Barrett, and learned from her that in Vought, only Xia Shang and Stan Edgar had this authority.

Needless to say, she knew it was that yellow-skinned monkey who was behind it.

"Your promotion plan is determined by me. What? Do you have an opinion?" Xia Shang calmly walked to the coffee machine and poured himself a cup of coffee.

"You're looking for death!"

Stormfront was so angry that she walked up to Xia Shang. Electricity flickered around her, and a strong wind continuously battered the glass of Xia Shang's office. She hadn't suffered such great humiliation even when she participated in World War II. She never expected a low-grade yellow-skinned monkey to dare provoke her.

Seeing the atmosphere becoming increasingly tense, Ashley Barrett, dripping cold sweat, quickly stepped forward to try and mediate the relationship between the two.

"Mr. Jervis, Ms. Stormfront, this must be a malfunction in our Vought backstage system. This has happened before..." Ashley Barrett's words were cut short by Xia Shang's cold voice.

"It's not a malfunction." Xia Shang put down the coffee in his hand, looking at Stormfront with an indifferent gaze and said, "Sorry, I'm targeting you."

His Parasyte Sensing was now sufficient to cover the entire Vought Tower, meaning that as long as he was within Vought Tower, he could control the movements of all superheroes, including Homelander.

"Hahaha, Jervis, don't bully her. She just arrived at Vought; it's normal for her not to understand Vought's rules." As expected, the next second, Homelander appeared at the door of Xia Shang's office and pushed the door open.

Since Stormfront had joined The Seven without his consent, she was essentially a connected person inserted by Stan Edgar. Furthermore, Stormfront hadn't visited him at all, which was a direct challenge to his authority as Captain.

Therefore, when he saw the relationship between the two was so bad, he was in a very good mood.

"Hi, Homelander, you're my grandma's idol."

Hearing Stormfront's flattery, Homelander thought she was yielding to him, so he said to Xia Shang, "This new member seems pretty good. Sometimes, being tolerant of others' mistakes is also a virtue."

Xia Shang smiled. It was hard to imagine that the seemingly young Stormfront before him was actually over seventy years old.

"No way. If you count from the World War II period, your grandma must be close to two hundred years old to be alive now." At Xia Shang's level, he was able to view Stormfront's real information.

Of course, Homelander also had the qualification.

"You investigated me." The thing a woman most dislikes is others talking about her age, and Stormfront was no exception. Her complexion became extremely ugly, and her gaze towards Xia Shang was filled with killing intent.

"You're Liberty." Homelander immediately put away his smile. He realized he had been tricked.

Liberty was Stormfront's former name, and Stan Edgar had merely changed her name.

"I didn't expect anyone to still remember me." Stormfront tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and suddenly said with a smile, "Jervis, don't forget, I can affect Vought's stock price. If Vought's stock price drops because of me, those Vought shareholders will definitely make you roll."

"Then give it a try. Besides, I have a good relationship with those shareholders, so this might not affect me." The good relationship Xia Shang referred to was naturally the dirt he held. Furthermore, if those shareholders were disobedient, Xia Shang wouldn't mind having their shares transferred to others.

Don't doubt it, Xia Shang, with his blood manipulation ability, could easily achieve this. So the tactic that worked on Madelyn Stillwell might not work on him.

Seeing Xia Shang's confidence, Stormfront's eyes narrowed slightly. How was this guy like a hedgehog, making it impossible for her to start? Forget it, she couldn't ruin her plan because of Xia Shang. She currently needed Vought, just as Vought needed her.

"Alright, I apologize. I was wrong before, and I hope you can forgive me." Stormfront extended her left hand while planning how to make Xia Shang die in an accident.

"Since you've apologized, how could I not forgive a beautiful lady?" Xia Shang shook her hand quite like a gentleman, achieving a superficial reconciliation.

If it weren't for wanting to analyze the ability on her, he guaranteed Stormfront wouldn't live to see the next day.

"Welcome to Vought."

Just like that, the two individuals, each with hidden motives, temporarily signed a truce agreement.

Seeing this, Ashley Barrett on the side breathed a sigh of relief.

"Interested in talking?" A subtle change occurred in Homelander's gaze towards Stormfront.

"Sorry, I have something to do."

Stormfront decisively rejected Homelander, leaving him standing awkwardly in place.

......

On the other side.

Hughie thought of the extremely mysterious Mr. Mystery. "Listen, I suddenly thought of a good candidate. Do you guys remember that Mr. Mystery? Maybe he can help us."

"Why would he help us?" Mother's Milk shattered Hughie's fantasy without hesitation, adding, "I have to remind you, the fact that he can provide Compound Six means he has an inseparable relationship with Vought. Don't forget the lesson Mesmer taught us."

"Then who else can help us besides him?"

The few of them looked at each other, and suddenly they said in unison, "Susan."

Hughie and the others thought of Susan, the Deputy Director of the CIA. After all, she still owed them a favor because of the Compound V incident. If Susan hadn't agreed to protect their personal safety back then, Billy wouldn't have given her the evidence he had.

Soon, they arranged to meet Susan at the entrance of an Abandoned Factory.

The Abandoned Factory was located on the Mountain Top. Frenchie was holding binoculars, looking down. "Only one car, she should be alone."

Little did they know, at the same time, a black sedan was following Susan at a distance.

"I heard you have new evidence." After getting out of the car, Susan rubbed her temples. It was clear that she looked much more haggard than before. "Do you think Madelyn Stillwell was blown up by Billy?"

"Even though he's a bastard, but... I don't know. After all, he was blinded by revenge." Mother's Milk hesitated, finally shaking his head. "I just hope this wasn't his doing."

There's another chapter later, I had something today, so the update is a bit late.
