"I'm sorry"
"Sorry, You are rejected."
"We are sorry."
"You do not meet the company's required job profile."
"We are sorry."
...
I've went to so many places looking for a job the past 1 month, I'm thoroughly exhausted.
And yet, couldn't find 1 full time job.
Muchless one that'd pay well.
I've been rejected so many times that I'm not sure if I'm qualified to take up a full time job.
Does that mean... I'll be working part time like this forever?
...
It's been a month since I've given up on playing cricket knowing it's a pipe dream.
Because, honestly... There was no proper equipment, There were no training fascilities and most of all the coaches were all incompitent.
I've gone to so many people looking for a damn tip on how to avoid inswing and outswing balls.
But, i can't find any proper ways to not get out off of them.
I've tried looking in the internet but i Don't at all understand the technicalities.
Making it even harder than it already is.
There have been no news of any games.
As expected I've been sacked from the central contract.
I've still got some money from the 8 million left.
So, we should scrape by somehow.
But, the problem arises here...
Everywhere i go, i see pictures of her.
She's no doubt, gotten very popular.
She's starring the main cast of the upcoming drama that's supposed to change the korean Drama society altogether.
So, it's no surprise that she'll become a star after the end.
I and my father wholeheartedly hope for it too. but, what will happen when we lose a lead source of income when she divorves dad.
She probably won't take any Maintainence money, i hope she isn't a cruel person because if she is which doesn't seen to be the case...
Than we are fuc--d.
My dad, has already been ready for the worst right now.
He'll probably be very sad once she leaves but i'm sure he'll cope somehow.
If not we won't be able tos crape by.
Wait for just another 2 years dad after that you no longer have to work anymore.
I'll take everything, I'll take all your responsibilities and let you rest the remainder of your years.
Her possibly leaving has been a big reason for me to take the decision of leaving cricket.
Because, i have no other choice.
I have a weakness that Cannot leave normally. Only technical way of batting will evade that weakness.
For that i need some kind of special training but... It's impossible.
Korea doesn't have such resources and even if it did, we didn't have the money to recruit that resource.
So, there was no choice but to give up on this pipe dream.
Because if i didn't, the house would no longer run.
I'll need to work 60 -70 hours a Week if i want us to survive.
so, there's no way i can give any time to play cricket.
It's over for me. I haven't even started my carrier and I'm already done.
Maybe if i'd performed well in the 50 over format than there was atleast some hope but my performance was shit.
There's no way i can do it.
"Hey... You alright?"
"Huh... Aah, yes... I'm fine. Is there something wrong?"
"No... a customer just came by and you were still spaced out. I didn't wanna call you since i didn't want the the Customer to notice."
"I'm... sorry, I'll do better. I've been going through alot recently. I'll try not getting distracted sorry."
"Aah... It's fine."
...
"I'll be going now."
"Well, See you tomorrow."
"Yes."
"..."
And so, The boss Bomi and the new recruit saw the retreating figure of Ji yeong and started talking among themselves.
"He's been weird... Hasn't he."
"Yes, he's always looked almsot dead now he looks like a corpse."
"Maybe he isn't sleeping well."
"Or maybe, it was because of his games at the back end."
The boss enquired.
"... Ya, he played pretty bad after the first game."
A tinge of pity flashed Bomi.
"Hey... Did you look at how the balls were like moving in the air... It's not his fault."
the red head exclaimed, Suggesting that it wasn't his fault.
"Heh, look at you picking up on things now. Looks like you would fit right in."
A smirk flahsed on thr faces of both the boss and Bomi's faces as they realised that there was another person in the group picking up on things.
But, that Happy moment didn't last long as they were dragged back to reality.
Realising, they might never watch him play again if this goes on.
...
"I want this player in the team."
"It's useless to have him madam, He's had a very exploitable weakness, If we take him in, He'll just be a waste of space."
"Yes Madam, Having him would no doubt be a waste of space."
"It's better to pick this man instead. We have only 1 more seat left so, I believe he'd be the only better pick."
"All of you, Shut up for a minute."
The one in a Red Blazer banged the Table and shouted at the top of her lungs.
She looked furious for some reason.
"Madam?"
"I won't repeat it again. I've watched his gameplay, I've seen international matches. More than anyone of you probably have.
You know close to nothing about the sport. That's why, Korean Cricket can't go anywhere. A few bad performances and you just want to sack him?"
"But, madam-"
"Shut up, I'm not done."
"Y.. yes Madam."
"Haa... His weakness is the swing of the new ball that is it. He has excellent ball knowledge. He knows what might come next. He makes the bowlers dance in the palm of his hands. He's a technically sound player and most of all. He's distructive against spin."
"..."
The Selectors kept quiet as she kept talking.
"We, don't have someone who can play spin very well. If we can improve his technical Aspect for swing balls. He'll be an excellent player with not many flaws. You know what he'll do for our country if the day comes?"
She ended her speech...
A women with purple hair and a black blazer stood up.
"Why do you favour him so much miss? Being vulnerable to swing is a very big flaw, one which we do not have resources to teach.
There's nobody in the country who could teach how to play the swing. It's not a problem with being unable to play against swing at all. It's his problem of always trying to play wrong shots when there's swing on offer.
His real peoblem is... He freezes when there's swing on offer. It is a major flaw because we do not understand how to take care of that.
That's ehy he'll end up a failure, and i know it's our fault that we do not have resources to amend his psychological State of mind. We can't waste our already limited resources on a player we know has a critical weakness."
"That is why... I've bought someone from England. Meet Mrs Audery. She'll be the head of the Cricket department."
The door creaked and someone entered,
It was a women with blonde hair and red eyes.
She had a cold and indifferent gaze as she scanned her surroundings.
"Good morning, My name is Audery Williams. I'm from England, I'm 32 and have played for English cricket for 8 Years."
