At this moment, Ace lay on Lapras's broad back, checking its attributes.

His backpack, which he'd thrown into the ocean earlier, had been retrieved by Lapras from the seafloor.

The backpack contained all of Ace's belongings, so being naturally cautious, he had carefully packed valuable items in sealed bags, except for those that couldn't fit.

The benefit of this was that, aside from the flint and steel and a change of clothes needing to be dried, other items were largely unaffected.

Ace's Lapras was quite large, over two meters tall. Ace spread out his damp items on its back to dry, and there was still plenty of room to move around.

"Overall, Lapras's attributes are rather mediocre, with no particularly outstanding features."

Ace looked at the back of Lapras's head and sighed slightly, thinking, "If this is the case, Lapras might end up just being my utility Pokémon."

Lapras, unaware of Ace's thoughts, had recovered its strength and been captured by Ace, leading it to wholeheartedly acknowledge him.

Even if Ace treated it as a utility Pokémon, Lapras probably wouldn't have any complaints.

Suddenly, Bellsprout, standing at the edge of Lapras's back, cried out, drawing Ace's attention.

Bellsprout extended two vines like fishing hooks into the sea and began fishing.

Ace hadn't held much hope for Bellsprout's actions, but unexpectedly, Bellsprout was now calling out while rapidly reeling in its Vine Whips.

When it had fully retrieved its Vine Whips, a terrified Kingler, tightly bound, stared at Ace and his group.

"Good job, Bellsprout! Lunch is settled!"

Ace smiled at the bound Kingler, but then quickly realized.

They were in the sea! Where were they going to start a fire to cook?!

Besides, his flint and steel were damp, making them difficult to ignite.

Thinking of this, Ace scratched his head helplessly and said to Bellsprout, "Never mind, we won't eat it. Finish it off and let it go."

Bellsprout immediately looked deflated upon hearing Ace's words.

It tossed the Kingler high into the air, then released its Vine Whips and delivered a single Vine Whip blow, sending the Kingler flying.

The Kingler slowly sank into the seabed with swirly eyes. With just one hit, Bellsprout had instantly defeated the Kingler.

Just as Ace was lamenting the loss of their meal, Lapras let out a high-pitched cry. Ace turned to look ahead and saw a dark speck of an island on the horizon.

"Are we almost there? Lapras, speed up!"

As Ace's voice rang out, Lapras nodded, its four limbs stroking alternately. Its speed noticeably increased as it rapidly headed towards Cinnabar Island.

Two hours later, Lapras brought Ace to a stop on a beach.

Ace packed his belongings into his backpack, then hoisted it onto his back and stepped onto the sand.

"You've worked hard, Lapras. You can return for now."

Lapras's movement speed on land was painfully slow, so Ace directly recalled it. He then walked towards Cinnabar Island with Zubat and Bellsprout.

Cinnabar Island's future size was considerable, but currently, it wasn't very large.

Ace walked on the island, glancing at the volcano in the center. Based on the information he had, he could deduce that Cinnabar Island's volcano would likely erupt at least once, forming a larger Cinnabar Island.

"It's a shame there's so little information about Cinnabar Island in the manga. The only thing certain is that Blaine's lab should be inside the volcano."

Thinking of this, Ace's expression was a bit nuanced.

If Blaine knew Cinnabar Island was going to erupt, Ace wondered if he would regret putting his lab inside the mountain, within the volcano.

Ace stopped. In front of him, stretching all the way to the volcano, was a forest of decent size.

The theory of "don't enter a forest" didn't apply to Ace here.

To reach the volcano, this was the only path!

Taking a deep breath, Ace said to Zubat and Bellsprout, "Alright, everyone, be careful from now on."

Zubat and Bellsprout both nodded in unison. Their experience in Viridian Forest was still fresh in their minds; they dared not underestimate any forest.

After getting ready, Zubat led the way, its Supersonic quickly spreading out. Soon, the situation inside the forest was reflected back into Zubat's ears.

After circling once, Zubat continued forward.

Ace also understood from Zubat's circling that there were currently no wild Pokémon present.

Knowing this, Ace felt slightly relieved. He and Bellsprout quickly walked into the forest, heading towards the volcano.

They made rapid progress towards their destination. Aside from discovering a Spearow flock in the middle, Zubat didn't find any other Pokémon along the way.

"That's strange? Did Blaine clear out all the Pokémon on the island?"

They arrived at the vicinity of the volcano almost smoothly. After walking around the base of the volcano for a while, they easily found a cave.

Following the cave inside, Ace pressed a button next to an iron door, and the door opened.

Ace and his Pokémon effortlessly entered Blaine's laboratory, a smoothness that made Ace feel a sense of unreality.

Ace quickly walked to a bookshelf in the lab and found the book on Pokémon fossil revitalization theory.

He quickly flipped through it. The book wasn't very thick, and Ace soon committed its contents firmly to memory.

After returning the book to its original place, Ace took out the Aerodactyl fang fossil from his inner jacket pocket.

"It's a shame it's not the Old Amber; otherwise, the time needed would be much less."

Following the instructions in the book, Ace approached the fossil revitalization machine. He placed the fang fossil into the slot to secure it, then pulled a lever, and the slot sank into the cultivation vessel.

Soon, the fang began to slowly crumble, and the DNA inscribed within it began to be extracted.

After the collection was complete, cultivation fluid poured into the vessel, beginning to cultivate the collected DNA.

According to the theory, if it were a fossil with a complete body like the Old Amber, an Aerodactyl could be revived in about ten minutes.

However, Ace's was an Aerodactyl fang fossil, so it would likely take at least a week to fully revive it!

Ace looked at the small flesh bud gradually emerging in the cultivation fluid and nodded.

He then said to Zubat and Bellsprout, "We'll have to wait here for a week. We can't waste this time. We finally found a stable place. Are you ready for special training?!"

Zubat and Bellsprout immediately flapped their leaves and wings. They weren't afraid of training that would make them stronger.

Because, special training meant delicious food.

The taste of high-grade Rare Candies—those two were absolutely hooked!
