Chapter 26 - Armageddon 4

Some of the Orions directly killed themselves, detonating their souls; others watched in despair as their Lu barriers slowly disintegrated.

For those who hadn't self-detonated, it was hope that had kept them from taking their own lives. Unfortunately, hope was the worst poison there could have been in this situation, simply because there were going to be no miracles, not under Diego's watch.

Without much suspense, their Lu barriers finally disintegrated, being turned into Void Lu and fueling the plane. Those with hope quickly lost it as the first layer of their skin began to disintegrate.

All of them blew their souls.

In just a few seconds, the entirety of the Orions had ended their own lives or disintegrated into the Void.

Down below, Maximus and Isadora looked at each other. War was coming.

Diego's voice rang out in everyone's heads, "I'll need help on this next one, this branch is closer to the main bloodline. Once we deal with the next, we'll have some time to go back home."

The word "home" resonated in the heads of the cohort. Home had become here, where their children were, yet hearing about "home" again, they couldn't help but remember all they had left behind.

Had it been the right choice? To sacrifice so much for just a sliver of a chance?

The worst of it was that none of them, except one, knew the plan. Only one person amongst the family heads knew the original plan. They simultaneously glanced at one another; someone here knew. None of them had ever known who, and the one who did know, never slipped up; but one of them held the key to ending this war that had waged on for time immemorial.

The family heads were stopped reminiscing as Diego spoke again, "We don't have much time."

As if on command, the rest of the family heads and Isadora erupted into a swirling madness of Lu, different types of Lu seemed to immediately be drawn to the now abandoned dinner venue of the Augustine. Such a varying collection of Lu would most definitely have clashed in such a concentrated area, yet the masterful control of the family heads couldn't be explained in mere words.

The entire planet flew into chaos as their momentum continued to build up, until… it overflowed.

Simultaneously, the chaos on Fluxara paused for the quickest second before erupting once again.

SNAP! SNAP! SNAP! SNAP! SNAP! SNAP! SNAP!

7 snaps echoed throughout the universe as the family heads regained a sliver of their original prowess. The cultivation of the family heads soared, as all sorts of different phenomena took place.

Varying illusory threads of beautiful colours appeared around the family heads, all of them adorned with their own majestic decorations and branching out into different locations, and if one followed the threads, they would look like they disappeared into the fabric of existence.

Vermillious broke the atmosphere of their return with a yell as he started to shadow box around the Augustine Manor, his figure flickering from place to place. It was obvious he didn't care much for the severity of the situation nor the emotions of the other.

"OHHH YEA! I forgot how fucking good 6th Plane felt."

The rest of the heads all turned towards him, coming to a stop to stretch his limbs and legs, cracking sounds that would rupture the eardrum of anyone below the 5th Plane echoing through the venue as he cracked his knuckles.

All the family heads had the same thought: 'This man can never be serious.'

Vermillious was the first to take out his weapon, a scorching gauntlet that seemed to be made out of solidified lava appearing on his hands, its red and yellow glint lighting up his earrings. The gauntlet was sleek and extended just above his wrists. Its surface was unadorned except for the slight bump over his knuckles. Vermillious flexed his hands as an almost mad grin surfaced on his face. He flexed his hands once again.

The sound barrier broke.

Vermillious' gauntlet seemed to respond to the force, its glint glowing slightly brighter. The only place it couldn't seem to light up was the area around Clarence, his own luminosity seemingly superseding all others.

Not wanting to be left behind, Veronica adorned her own gauntlets, yet hers seemed to be wholly different to Vermillious'. They seemed to be made out of an extremely soft material, barely covering the entirety of Veronica's hands. Alas, anyone underestimating them from their looks would be shown otherwise; not only were the thin material extremely durable and flexible, but the more force they came into contact with, the harder they became. She slipped on the gauntlets as they hardened around her hands, forcing them into fists.

Clarence was the next to take out his weapon, or rather, weapons. Two majestic golden weapons appeared in his hands. A beautiful golden chain adorned with small gemstones on his left and an impossibly smooth and plain white whip on his right. The chain and whip seemed to respond to their master's call for blood, the glow on his left increasing as his left side seemed to darken.

Serena herself just stood next to Clarence, simply untying her ponytail and letting her lustrous pink hair flow in the wind. The atmosphere around her sweetened as if the world itself favoured her. Though she wasn't the only one favoured by the world.

The air around Vincent and Maria concentrated, allowing the air particles to come closer together. This seemingly innocent phenomenon was the precursor to something much more powerful; in fact, no one else in the Human Realm would be able to toy around with this Lu as much as they.

The air around them twinkled with starry lights as a subtle sound started to emanate around them. This exact moment was when they took out their weapons. Vincent held a quill on his right hand whilst Maria held a fountain pen. The quill and pen were both transparent without the slightest hint of speciality other than their transparency, yet that was exactly why they were so special. The starry light around them slowed into their weapons as the transparent weapons started to become translucent, a starry galaxy trapped within them. Just as the starry light fused with the weapons, the subtle sound around them reached a crescendo, a heavenly orchestra descending to Fluxara.

The last to adorn themselves were the Augustines.
