HALLWAY – NOON]
Sarah's mind was a whirlwind—but always, always circling him.
She tiptoed through the hallway, water bottle in hand.
She turned the corner—and froze.
Andrew stood at the far end. His back to her.
Her breath caught. She spun around to flee.
But his voice stopped her.
"Running again, Sarah?"
She stiffened.
He turned slowly, his eyes burning.
Sarah, voice shaking, chin raised, "I'm not running."
Their eyes locked. The air between them crackled.
A maid dropped a tray. Clatter. Sarah jumped back, increasing the distance.
Andrew, stiff, said, "If you want to leave… I'm not stopping you. You can
leave anytime. I won't force you."
His hands twitched. He wanted to reach for her.
God, he wanted her to stay.
Sarah looked down. "I have my assignments. I need to finish
them." (Another lie. They were done weeks ago.)
She turned and fled.
Back in her room, she slammed the door shut, leaned against it, heart racing.
"I could do it… I could leave…!" she whispered.
[DINING HALL – EVENING]
Sarah walked toward the dining hall, finally gathering the courage to face him.
But when she entered, the chair beside hers was empty.
Andrew wasn't there.
She sat, waiting. Looking toward the hallway.
No sign of him.
Her fork pushed the food aimlessly around her plate.
Lian entered quietly and bowed.
"Young Master asked me to inform you… he is dining in his study tonight."
Sarah froze. Her fork clinked too loud against the plate.
Flatly: "Fine."
Lian hesitated. "He also said… if you wish to leave the mansion, the car is ready."
Sarah stood abruptly. "Tell him… thank you."
[BEDROOM – NIGHT]
She slammed the door behind her.
Yanked off the locket.
Hurled it into the drawer.
It bounced—landed face-up.
A photo smiled back. Her younger self. Still innocent.
Sarah sank to the floor.
She opened her diary again.
I thought I didn't care.
Didn't feel anything.
But why did it hurt when he wasn't there?
Why did I wait for him? Why did I want him to come?
He didn't come.
He said I could leave.
I thought avoiding him would make me forget.
Then why do I look for him?
Why am I affected by this?
Why?
Tears fell down her cheeks before she could stop them ...drop by drop as she wrote they fell on the diary pages smearing the ink ..her eyes glassy and blurred with tears..
[SECURITY ROOM – LATE NIGHT]
Andrew sat in front of the monitor.
On screen: Sarah. Curled on the floor. Crying.
His own reflection trembled in the glass.
His fingers twitched. He wanted to reach through. To hold her.
But he was bound. By his own words.
Sam stood at the doorway, arms crossed.
"You both are totally sick," he muttered. "She's avoiding you. And you're…
watching her on a screen?"
He stepped inside.
"You told her she could leave… and now you're surprised she's hurting?
Man, go talk to her already."
Andrew didn't move.
Sam sighed. "Just go to her."
Andrew's voice was raw. "I… I can't."
On the screen, Sarah reached again for the locket.
FADE TO BLACK.
