Chapter 27 - Chapter 26: The Second Chance That Shouldn’t Exist

From the front of the Daiki gang, a boy stepped forward. His sharp eyes glared like blades, and his voice cut through the classroom.

"What the hell are you trying to do? Knocking out our friend like that?" Kai growled, grabbing Yuuta by the collar.

Yuuta didn't flinch. He met Kai's glare with his own.

"Don't cross the line," Yuuta said coldly. "He started this. That's why he got what was coming."

Kai clenched his fists and swung at Yuuta with rage, but—

Whoosh!

Yuuta ducked, fluid and precise, then countered with a sharp punch to Kai's gut.

Thud!

Kai staggered back, nearly falling to his knees, gasping for air.

— Ah, forgive the interruption. I'm the narrator, and I forgot to mention something important.

Yuuta's older brother, Kaito, is a Taekwondo champion. Since they were kids, he's been teaching Yuuta self-defense techniques.

So… yeah. Now back to the story.

The classroom fell into stunned silence. The rest of the Daiki gang took a fearful step back.

Whispers erupted.

"Yuuta's strong…"

"Did you see that?"

"Even Kai couldn't land a hit…"

Even Airi and Renji looked frozen in disbelief.

Then Yuuta spoke again, voice clear and unwavering.

"This is my last warning." He turned toward the Daiki gang, his tone like steel. "Stop hurting Airi. She's not your toy... she's mine."

Gasps filled the room. Renji's eyes widened. "Did he just say…?"

Airi blinked, stunned. Her cheeks turned bright red.

Without waiting, Yuuta turned to her, gently took her arm.

"Let's go, Airi."

And just like that, he walked out of the classroom with her in tow. His grip wasn't rough—it was protective.

Airi's heart thumped loudly as she looked at Yuuta's face. His expression was calm… and warm.

He suddenly stopped in the hallway, pulled a handkerchief from his pocket, and began gently brushing dirt from her hair and shoulders.

"W-What are you doing?" Airi asked, turning away with a blush.

Yuuta smiled faintly, still focused on her. "Because you did this for me once too… When everyone was against me, you stood by my side."

Airi stared, confused. "I... I don't remember that. I think this is the first time we've met... isn't it?"

Yuuta paused, staring at her like she was something fragile.

"You don't remember. That's why I like you."

That made Airi's face flush even deeper. She looked away again. "W-What are you even saying…"

Yuuta tilted his head slightly, still smiling. "By the way, Airi… what happened? How did you get caught up with those bullies?"

Her smile faded. Her lips parted—

"That's because of… Ruma—"

Suddenly—

Everything froze.

The hallway darkened. Shadows spilled into the space like ink in water.

A cold fog crept in from every direction.

Yuuta blinked. "W-What the—"

A whisper echoed inside his mind.

> "You have to save her. Now."

A shock ran through Yuuta's body. The fog surged—

And then everything changed.

Flash!

Yuuta found himself back in the classroom.

Same day. Same classroom.

But—

23 minutes before the voting results for Airi's expulsion.

His heart pounded.

"What the hell is going on…" he muttered. His vision blurred—his mind spinning—but he forced himself to breathe, to think.

"Was that… time travel?"

His hands trembled slightly.

"First, I woke up in an alternate world… Now I'm back in the past? How many secrets are buried in this reality?"

He clenched his fists.

But this time, I know what's coming. I have a second chance.

Takamura and Saya… They're planning something. If they can't get Airi expelled… they'll try to kill her.

And Saya—she received a strange notification on her phone that day. Something connected to Hikari, who… ends up being the one to try and end Airi's life.

She's the key. I have to change her choice.

Yuuta closed his eyes, inhaling deeply.

"I'll play it the same way at first. Let the principal make the announcement. Let the fake video go public. Let Airi be saved."

Then… they'll panic.

Saya. Takamura. They'll lose control.

And that's when I'll move.

This time… I'll rewrite everything.

Next time yuuta is going to all out for saving Airi
