Chapter 17 - 17: The Ultimate Plot

Eden was confused. He was trying to understand why the plot was still moving regardless of the fact that he defied it by staying alive.

This banquet was an important one for the plot. It was a whole ass dramatic banquet similar to a soap opera.

One where The Crown Prince had gone against his Royal Father for the first time by publicly announcing that The Female lead, Helen, was the one he loves and will marry.

Helen and The Crown prince had already met. And The Crown prince was already enchanted by her. He always left to meet her in secret while trying to woo her into falling for him.

But the poor girl was still rejecting him over the idea that their worlds were too different. She was a commoner and he was a royal.

Eden had rolled his eyes while he read those scenes. Cliché. He thought.

And in the novel, Elvis had ordered Helen to attend the Banquet. He had threatened her to come. And that if she didn't, he'd confiscate her family shop which she was taking care of. Toxic, Eden knew.

But the readers of the book didn't care.

"Awww so cute! He loves her so much!" Is all they could say.

The poor girl had attended the party and there the drama unfolded. Elvis went against his father's order of accepting the daughter of the Emperor as his wife ( She was another Villainess in the storyline)

And Elvis had declared his intention to marry the poor girl - Helen. This, of course was met with more dramas that followed later on in the storyline.

The event brought Helen to the limelight. And made Cordelia, The Emperor's daughter, detest her and plot against her till the end. Because Cordelia loved the Crown prince as well.

To Eden, this was a vital scene that drove many dramas into the novel. But sadly, Eden wasn't going to let this scene flow as it originally did.

Although he didn't understand why the scene was still holding, he was still going to take advantage of it for his own good.

Even if it means becoming the centre of attention in place of the female lead. (After all, she wanted a quiet life as she claimed lol - Eden thought)

"So how do you plan on leaving here safely and going there?" Lenny asked. "Are you going to tell the marquis guy to take you?"

"He didn't attend the Banquet" Eden pointed out. He recalled that none of the male leads attended the banquet except Elvis.

"So since he won't be attending, I'll have to find a way to steal his invitation and go there. Since they won't let me in without an invitation. And also on seeing the special invitation belonging to The Marquis, they sure will let me in" Eden explained.

"Makes sense. Now what's left is how to escape" Lenny stated.

"Yes. I guess that's the only problem left now" Eden rubbed his nonexistent mustache in thought.

"Since we can't break our way through this place. We might as well scheme our way out" Eden suggested.

"How?" Lenny titled his head.

"We'll need to find a situation that I could blend in in disguise or something. A disguise that no one could question. One that I could use to sneak into his room and drug him or something. And then snatch the invitation card and take off"

Lenny nodded at the idea "It's dangerous. But it could work with a perfect disguise and execution"

"Then we need to find the right situation to blend in for it" Eden said.

"I'll go out tomorrow and see if there is something I can find. The Marquis is a character who certainly likes merriment. So an opportunity should pop up"

Eden nodded.

*******

The next day Lenny left to search for information. Possible information that would aid their plan.

He moved from one spot to another. From one gathering of maids to another, from a group of guards to another, looking for gossip.

He did this for almost the whole day and got nothing important. He continued the next morning and immediately found something.

He had come across Adrian's Personal Butler Mr Hugo, instructing some group of exquisite looking ladies.

The cat listened closely and absorbed the information. It was exactly what he needed. It was exactly something they could work with.

He smiled after listening to their conversation and then made his way back to Eden's room.

Eden lay in bed all day, bored to death. All he could do was wait and hope for Lenny to find something fast.

It was already then D- day. The day of the banquet. And he urgently had to leave and attend it tonight.

Luckily for him, Adrian wasn't around. He was out on some Official's business. If he was around, he'd be certainly making active plots to kill him by now.

Eden thanked God for his dear life.

And just as he lay there in bed, wondering if there was another way to break out of here and attend the Banquet, Lenny happily jumped into the room.

Eden jumped out of bed, anxious "Did you get anything??"

"Yes" Lenny nodded. "I got something really really really exciting! It's exactly what we need to escape here!"

Now Eden was super excited and anxious at the same time "Tell me, what's it?" He was kneeling before the cat now.

"Okay calm down and listen" Lenny began "I was walking around and came across The Marquis guy's butler instructing some ladies"

"I figured they weren't maids at all. They weren't dressed like one at all. Rather they were dressed like prostitutes or so. So I figured they were from the brothel"

"And they were here to serve The Marquis tonight in his room to relieve his stress and all. And would have access to his room tonight" Lenny explained.

Eden paused, staring at his cat with a blink. He didn't seem to like where the cat was getting to.
