"I see you haven't given the confirmation to continue the test, Do you have any doubts sir ??"
The lady Klaus had met earlier spoke into a microphone inside the room of the capsule. seeing that he was lost in thoughts she decided to ask him.
Klaus was surprised upon hearing the familiar voice
"unn.. what should I call you miss ?" Klaus asked while keeping a hand behind his neck and showing an innocent smile.
"you can call me Ria" Ria spoke in a professional tone although in reality she had a blush on her cheeks
"OK, Ria I was just curious about this VR world. can you tell me what will happen to this monster corpse I killed?" Klaus asked with a curious tone.
"this corpse will disappear when you confirm to move to the next stage" ria replied
getting to know the fact Klaus planned things accordingly in his mind "so I need to absorb before moving ahead, I was worried about the corpse disappearing from the absorption, turns out I can just time the confirmation and absorption simultaneously to avoid suspicion." he though
Klaus nodded his head and further asked
"miss Ria, I like the VR world quite a lot as I can practice by battle skills on this platform. would you please tell me the means from which I can get access to this technology."
"sure sir currently there are only two authorities with access to this technology. one is the Association and the other is the Guardian Academy, only the academy allows its students to access the VR world.
even the association does not allow it's employs such benefits since operation the VR is costly."
as she finished speaking Klaus nodded showing a look of understanding, and he also further asked "pardon my rudeness but could you answer my last question?"
"go ahead"
"how can I join the guardian academy?"
"you either need to pass the qualifying entrance and then the ranking battle to get admitted or if you get an S rank evaluation or more from the association to skip the entrance to directly the Ranking battle."
Klaus nodded his head trying to show his attentiveness and appreciation to her explanation. he then told her that he will talk to her after the evaluation and also thanked her for her help which made Ria smile.
he made a decision in his mind that he had to join the academy for a safe progression.
Klaus then proceeded to look at the goblin while saying 'yes' as he confirmed for both the prompts in front of him one from the VR world and one from his absorption panel.
he willed for it to absorb the F rank slash skill. The corpse disappeared from the ground, but it didn't look like anything else than the VR world resetting itself.
The slash skill he had absorbed provided him with a 1% chance of inflicting permanent bleeding while using a bladed weapon.
there was an upgrade counter next to it and on ten more absorptions it would upgrade.
he looked towards the forest with his superior vision skill and saw a group of ten goblins emerging from the forest.
this time Klaus initiated the attack first. he threw a dagger at one of them, the dagger was too fast and the goblin didn't have the chance to evade and died on the spot Klaus dashed towards the corpse and picked up his dagger
meanwhile the goblin who tried to sneak attack while he was looking away got his head snapped when Klaus raised his leg instinctively while in a bending position.
In this way two of the goblins were already dead, tracking the rest of the goblins was too easy with his trait natural hunter.
like this the rest of the eight goblins fell one by one under his daggers, although his dagger skills were crude, his reflexes made up for them.
after he was done with these goblins, Klaus decided to meditate for a few minutes to take rest. after he opened his eyes for a few minutes. He confirmed 'yes' and the process repeated itself.
the SLASH (F) skill upgraded to D rank SLASH (D) the effect of permanent bleeding increased from 1% to 5%.
Klaus had decided now, he wanted to enter the guardian academy to use the VR world. he had to try to get an S rank evaluation. That is why he decided to prolong the assessment and take breaks in between.
"Congratulations you have reached the level of an E rank hunter, all the best for ahead"
Ria's voice rang in his ears making him smile and nod.
as the next stage started this time the monster was D ranked. It was a dire wolf with great speed which outmatched Klaus's.
Thanks to Klaus's Natural hunter trait he was able to evade the sharp claws of the dire wolf. The level of difficulty had significantly increased right now. the goblins earlier were scrawny and weak and were easily overpowered by him.
"if this goes on reaching the S rank will only be a pipe dream, I should have prepared more I don't have any impactful offensive skill" Klaus thought how he had come unprepared as he didn't have any immediate plans earlier he was just there to receive an identification so that he could live normally.
but now since he had decided to join the guardian academy he will work on it. thinking in this way greatly improved his mood and he focussed on the fight.
Klaus gritted his teeth he was finding it difficult to land attacks on the dire wolf and even if he got a few hits he failed to penetrate the thick skin of the wolf.
Finally, Klaus decided to let go of saving stamina and focus all his strength on his next attack as their clash continued in the wolf suddenly leaped and was about top attack from 120 degrees east to where he was.
Klaus finally finding and opening twisted and suddenly closed the gap , he let go of one of the daggers and held the other one with both his hands, then he used the full strength of his body to drive the dagger through the eyes of the startled dire wolf.
The monster's body twitched for a few seconds before going still. Klaus was panting heavily after almost exhausting himself.
in the background a system screen had already appeared in front of him, but he waved it away as another voice sounded.
"congratulations Mr Klaus for passing the D rank, from the next stage monsters proficient in magic will also appear "
"thanks Miss Ria"
Klaus was now thinking how to proceed, he knew that no matter what he was going to get out matched in the next round. He was having thoughts of discontinuing the evaluation there was no need to confirm the obvious, he was not a fool.
"miss Ria when can I apply for a re-evaluation if I decide to withdraw right now?"
"if you withdraw right now you can apply for re-evaluation in a month, I would advise you to do that, I am not looking down on you but as a hunter myself I can tell you the monster ahead will outmatch you" the sound of ria rang in his ears.
