Klaus was standing at the Ria's table, looking at her doing some paper work. he had heeded to her advice and withdrawn for now.
She slipped a green card in front of him "this is your hunters identification card while shopping, going on a raid, joining a guild and any other activity related to awakened, the card will help with everything. it's now basically your identification proof."
Klaus looked at a display board with an infographic that depicted that there were different color cards for different ranks.
F rank - yellow
E rank - red
D rank - green
C rank - bronze
B rank - silver
A rank - Gold
S rank - violet with gold design
SS rank - White with gold design
SSS - black with gold design
Klaus then looked at Ria
"Since it's only after noon can I enter a public gate right now"
at first Ria wanted to advise against him doing so since he had just come out of the evaluation and must have been mentally exhausted but after looking at Klaus's eyes something stirred in her.
she simply smiled and nodded her head and then opened a catalogue. it consisted of all the public gates for each rank. generally public gates were made to help hunters who didn't affiliate themselves with any guilds or association.
the maximum rank a public gate was allowed to operate was B rank since above those were considered as a threat and were assigned to organized guilds or associations so that they could be cleared as soon as possible.
Also, there were other reasons like maintaining monopoly and ease of monitoring high level gates.
Klaus looked at the catalogue full of several gates at different locations throughout the city. he specially opened the page with the D Rank gates.
there he saw a gate located near his inn. Klaus decided to choose this gate and after paying a minimal fee he got the permit for a week.
A gate in general consisted of monsters of many ranks, but the highest rank was always of the boss monster and the rank of the boss monster decided the rank of the gate.
usually it was common sense that a person would enter the gate after forming a party. Ria also thought so after looking at the mature demeanor of Klaus, who'd tell her that it was not the case?
Klaus could not reveal his absorption ability in front of everyone so he had no choice but to go solo.
he smiled at Ria and did all the formalities for one last time before leaving the association, he then took a taxi and left for the Inn.
after reaching his room he first and foremost took a bath to relax. He now had an identity card and could buy an apartment to start a new life even if he fails to reach S rank, he always had the option to give the entrance test.
his mood was very light right now. he felt like he was having a new start and was full of optimism about his future.
He had lived very frugally and worked like an animal to survive till now his self-esteem was almost non-existent, and he had almost forgotten how to feel emotions like anger and happiness.
At first when he had transmigrated to the world full of expectations and hope for himself but after living at the bottom of the society for so many years his personality had changed not to forget that he was lonely all this time no friends, no family and no love life . what was ambition? what was hope?
he had almost turned into a roach always trying to survive, always playing it safe, playing it mediocre.
thinking about all this Klaus sighed and continued to shower while humming a song he often listened to. He didn't know that in a few hours everything about him was going to change.

ACROSS TIME AND SPACE
A FEW BILLIONS OF YEARS AGO ...SOMEWHERE IN THE MULTIVERSE .....
In the Vast silent space filled with dark full of shimmering stars and planets a sudden explosion takes place as a planet is destroyed.
two massive figures suddenly appear out of the oblivion. Cracks appear in space as the void is shattered when one of them starts speaking.
"I should have never allowed you to grow behemoths, now look at what you have done"
one of the entities spoke with a melancholic tone
"it was never a choice for me brother, I never complained in any way, but you are just too much always meddling in my affairs, now I have no choice but to take back what you took from me"
"Take back?, don't jest brother behemothos this power was never yours, this is dragon god's inheritance, it has the potential to destroy universes, and you want me to hand it to you? the all-father himself entrusted me this years ago to safe keep, even I am not qualified to use it, but you think you can?"
Listening to the words of the entity , the one called behemothos summoned a shadow clad spear in his hands.
"The World-ending spear? brother have you really fallen so low? Colluding with those demons. Where is your pride as a dragon?"
"I am sorry brother I have no choice, I Behemoth Vows in the name of the dragon God that once I get his inheritance, I will stop this destruction and rule with peace"
But before the other entity even had the chance to speak, a beam shot out from the World ending spear and pierced through the other entity's abdomen. Behemothos didn't even give him a chance to speak.
the look of shock never escaped his face as the black dragon felt his life fading. in his last moments he managed to quickly get a hold and draw a mysterious rune on the white shining orb in his hand.
behemothos noticed this and quickly approached him to snatch the orb, but before he could even take a step a wave of mysterious energy with an ancient dragon's roar was released pushing back behemothos and completely disintegrating black dragon.
the orb spun very fast before a portal opened upin front of the orb and it disappeared into the oblivion travelling across time to God knows where and when.
Anger rose in Behemothos's heart his years of patience and planning had gone to shit in a few seconds.
*BOOM*
what followed after was a wave of destruction across the universe, no one knows when it stopped.

In an ancient ruin
A decisive battle was going on between two people.
"I should have never trusted you Karl, emily was right you were suspicious from the start" one of them looked at the corpse of a dead women with slight tears in his eyes.
The other man replied with a sinster expression.
"I don't have time to waste on you Jhon, I have a mission to complete. Handover the orb and get a swift death, you know you can't beat me"
"Karl you will pay for this very dearly, karma doesn't forgive" the man with a dusty orb in his hands said while biting his lips.
"Enough of this bullshit" Karl said as he moved like a guest of wind and even before Jhon could react his head was on the ground followed by a spray of blood on the ground.
" Worms " a single word escaped karl"s mouth.
