Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: Entering Forbidden Zone No. 3

"This time, let's just say we're doing Instructor Wayne a favor."

"Exactly."

"Better to take them out early. Saves us trouble during the freshman tournament."

Their voices were casual, but the intent behind their words was chilling. With enough profit on the line, their loyalty flipped faster than a page in a book.

Vincent Fox had no idea someone was already plotting his death.

That afternoon, with no classes scheduled, he was back to training.

By now, his stats had soared, and the daily workout routine 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10-kilometer run had become easy. Too easy.

His attributes continued to grow every single day.

He even experimented with doubling the workout load. But strangely, the stat gains remained about the same. It seemed Saitama's training method couldn't be "optimized" by brute force.

So, in the end, Vincent chose to stay the course sticking to the original plan with military discipline.

Another month passed in a blink.

Vincent trained every single day. And his strength once again climbed to astonishing heights.

Name: Vincent Fox

Race: Human

Physique: 419

Willpower: 142

Strength: 418

Agility: 407

Bloodline: Saitama Physique (Awakened)

Talent: Blazing Flame

That was his current status.

Vincent had secretly tested it he could now obliterate a small hill with a single punch.

He was starting to resemble the caped baldy himself.

And with his rising physique, his vitality and defense also increased dramatically. Where once even large-caliber bullets posed a threat, now he could shrug off most modern firearms with ease.

Only something like a Barrett M82A1, the kind of anti-materiel rifle that could punch through armored vehicles, might be able to hurt him.

As for speed?

That had skyrocketed too.

His 100-meter dash now clocked in at just 3.22 seconds.

He launched off the ground faster than a sports car.

Today was the day they entered the Third Forbidden Zone.

At 7:00 a.m., all students gathered on the training field. Under the guidance of Tactical Instructor Terry Yan, they were led to the locker rooms.

Inside were rows of Republic-era clothing.

"These outfits match the style of the era in Zone 3," Terry instructed. "Choose something that fits, nothing too flashy or restrictive. You'll need full mobility."

The students got to work selecting clothes.

In the boys' locker room, most male students remembered the warning and chose simple, low-key outfits.

Vincent, on the other hand, did the opposite.

He picked out a white dress shirt and a black tailcoat looking every bit the refined nobleman from an old-world aristocracy.

He wasn't doing this for style.

Vincent had a reason.

Back in that era, anyone wearing Western clothing was seen as elite, privileged, or important. That kind of image would make his tasks much easier.

He walked out dressed to the nines.

People stared.

"Damn, what's Vincent doing? Why so extra?"

"I thought he was the quiet type. Why dress like a fashion model for a zombie world?"

"Maybe he hit his head…"

Murmurs spread through the room.

Vincent ignored them all.

Even Terry Yan noticed and frowned, clearly wanting to say something but in the end, he said nothing.

He trusted Vincent had a reason.

The girls, as usual, took longer to change.

A few minutes later, they began filing out one by one.

Vincent spotted Autumn Summer in a plain green floral skirt and short tunic practical for combat.

Though the outfit was rustic, and from behind she looked like a village girl, her beauty was impossible to hide. Her face and figure radiated elegance.

She wasn't a villager.

She was the village goddess.

"All right. Got your clothes? Then let's move!" Terry shouted.

The group boarded a bus and set off toward the Third Forbidden Zone.

On the way, a student asked, "Mr. Yan, why do we always wait a month between entering each Zone? Is there a reason?"

Terry nodded. "Two reasons."

"First, to give you time to study the next Zone's information and rest up."

"Second, for national safety. The government designates a single day each month to open the Zones for students only. That prevents shady outsiders from sneaking in and posing a threat to you."

Everyone nodded in understanding.

Vincent also took this to heart.

The state really had gone to great lengths to train its next generation of warriors.

But what caught Vincent's attention the most was what Terry said at the end:

These Zones were open even outside the student schedule.

That little fact might become very important later…
