Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Nami's Sick.

The next morning came. Everyone got up and ate breakfast, resting on the deck.

Sanji grumbled unhappily, "Why hasn't Nami-chan gotten up for breakfast yet? Does she not like my cooking anymore? Boohoo~~"

Upon hearing Sanji's words, Shin'ya's heart skipped a beat. He thought anxiously, This is bad. Nami might have still been bitten by a poisonous insect. He quickly turned to Vivi.

"Vivi, please go check on Nami. See if she's sick " Shin'ya said anxiously.

Luffy and the others gathered around, looking at him in confusion.

"What's wrong? What happened?" Luffy asked. "She just slept in, it's nothing."

But Shin'ya was already growing desperate. Even if she didn't go with them into the jungle, she still got bitten? Who knows if this poisonous bug is stronger or weaker than in the original story? If it's worse, we might not make it to Drum Island in time…

Seeing Luffy's nonchalant face, Shin'ya blurted, "Did you forget what Nami said yesterday? Little Garden's crawling with poisonous bugs! I'm afraid she got bitten. And without a doctor — if the poison's serious, she might not hold on."

Everyone's faces tensed immediately, turning toward Nami's room, waiting for Vivi to return with news.

Just then, Princess Vivi rushed out, shouting, "It's bad! Nami's sick! I found this bug on her forehead!"

She held out a small bottle containing a sesame-sized bug still crawling inside.

"Beep beep beep beep — quick! Move! Head for the nearest island with a doctor! Don't give her any random medicine, it might make things worse!" Shin'ya was panicked.

He cursed inwardly, Even the First Hokage couldn't cure diseases. No matter how strong you are, it's useless against illness. And I can't remember exactly where Drum Island is either…

Suddenly, Vivi spoke up, "Snow… does anyone have a telescope? Look that way — it's snowing. Among the nearby islands, there's one where it snows year-round. It's a medical kingdom. If we head toward the snow, we'll find it."

Usopp immediately scrambled up to the crow's nest and peered through the telescope. "Sanji! A little to the left — I see snow over there!"

Sanji turned the ship in the indicated direction and sped up as fast as possible toward Drum Island.

Everyone rushed to Nami's room. Shin'ya felt her forehead. "She's burning up… this is bad, she's seriously ill."

"Luffy, Usopp — you stay with her. I'll speed us up." Shin'ya ran out.

At the stern, Shin'ya clapped his hands. "Wood Release: Wood Dragon!"

The Going Merry's speed increased tenfold. It could have gone even faster, but Shin'ya was worried the ship — and Nami — wouldn't be able to handle it.

Within ten minutes, they reached seas covered in heavy snow. The sky turned gloomy, snowflakes fell thickly, and the whole world looked like a curtain of white.

Then, from the crow's nest, Zoro shouted, "Hey, Shin'ya — something ahead! A giant pirate ship is blocking the way! It's five times the size of the Merry!"

Shin'ya frowned and squinted ahead. No time to hesitate — we'll have to break through.

But before they could, the pirate ship ahead opened fire without warning. Cannonballs rained down toward the Merry.

Reacting instantly, Shin'ya formed seals. "Wood Release: Super Large Wood Golem Wall!"

A towering wooden barrier rose up, blocking the cannonballs. But the Merry was forced to stop.

Feeling the ship halt, Luffy rushed out carrying Nami, his face tight with worry. "Are we there yet? I'm getting a doctor now!"

From above, Zoro called out, "Not yet, Luffy! Trouble ahead — a huge pirate ship fired on us and made us stop. And they've got a thousand men!"

Zoro's voice was cold, gritting his teeth as he grasped his swords.

Then, turning to Shin'ya nearby, Zoro's eyes steeled. "I'll stay here and deal with them. You guys keep going. I'll catch up after."

Before anyone could respond, on the enemy ship, a large man with a hippo-like cape — Wapol — spoke as he swallowed a ham-topped knife. He glanced at the Straw Hats. "Only a few of you, huh?"

"Did that guy… just eat his sword?" Zoro muttered warily, gripping his blades.

Wapol wiped his mouth. "The number doesn't matter. Do you have a Log Pose or an Eternal Pose to Drum Island?"

Vivi's expression changed. "Drum Island — I remember now! That ship belongs to the king of Drum Island!"

"What? A king?" Usopp blurted out. "Why would a king become a pirate?"

"No mistake," Vivi said firmly. "I saw him once at a World Government summit with my father. I thought he looked familiar, but when he mentioned Drum Island — I'm certain, he's the king."

Wapol heard and laughed loudly. "Gyahaha~ Smart little girl. That's right — I'm King Wapol of Drum Island."

His face darkened. "So — do you have a Log Pose to Drum Island? If not, you can die."

Luffy clutched Nami, feeling the heat radiating from her. His fury flared, his eyes sharp as a blade. "No! Move, or I'll take you down."

But Wapol ignored the warning and laughed. "You? Beat me? Dream on."

His mouth inflated like a balloon, growing bigger than the Merry itself. Then he lunged forward to bite the ship.

In a flash, Zoro leapt from the crow's nest, swords blazing. "Three Sword Style: Oni Giri!"

A blur of steel struck Wapol hard, sending him flying back onto his own ship.

Climbing to his feet, Wapol cursed. "Damn it! Bad luck after bad luck — a fat guy chased us off Drum Island a few days ago, and now a tiny pirate crew's beating us. What is my life?!"

Recovering his composure, Wapol snarled, "All troops — attack! Wipe them out!"

His shout thundered across the water.

"Yes, Your Majesty!" came the roar of his subordinates.

Cannonballs flew, arrows filled the sky, gunfire rang out.

Luffy laid Nami down and shielded the Merry from the incoming assault. "Guys," he said coldly, "let's wipe them out."

"It's about time," Zoro said grimly, readying his blades.

But before they could attack, Shin'ya spoke. "Sanji — keep steering toward the snow. I'll deal with them. We don't have time for this."

Sanji nodded, turned the helm, and pushed the Merry around Wapol's Tin Plate Ship, continuing toward Drum Island.

Wapol, incensed that they dared ignore him, opened his mouth to bark another order.

But black markings spread across Shin'ya's face at the Merry's stern. He clasped his hands and whispered, "Sage Art: Wood Release — Wood Golem Technique."

On either side of Wapol's ship, immense wooden structures rose up, merging rapidly into a giant ball that sealed the entire Tin Plate Ship and its crew inside.

Explosions echoed within the wooden prison as cannonballs detonated harmlessly against its walls.

With a flick of the Wood Dragon's tail, Shin'ya hauled Wapol and his pirates behind them, towing them all the way to Drum Island.
