Chapter 55 - Lightning in Water

The sun had just dipped below the rooftops, casting long shadows over the school grounds, when Jimmy placed his phone aside and stood.

He glanced at Luna, who was curled up on the edge of the bed, gently twitching her tail.

"Let's go finish our last training session," he signed with a slight grin.

Luna opened one eye and nodded, already floating up with an eager flick of her tail. Jimmy slung a large bag over his shoulder—packed with supplies, energy potions, and some newly bought peacans — and stepped outside.

Just as he locked the door behind him, a passing student sneered, "Again going out? Don't you ever study?"

Jimmy gave him a dry smile and responded with a carefree sign:

"Nope. That's boring. Playing with Luna is way more fun."

Before the other boy could scoff back, Jimmy waved and walked off with light steps. Luna zipped above him like a flicker of blue fire.

They made their way to the Nexus Training Centre.

As they approached the grand entrance, Jimmy noticed something odd—the enormous painting of the majestic bird Whisp that used to hang above the arch was missing.

Inside, he asked the front receptionist about it.

She smiled faintly and explained, "Ah, that piece. It's been moved to the Central Plaza. Too many people were crowding here to stare at it—it was becoming a security risk. Now it's displayed in a protective hologram dome. You can go see it later."

She pointed toward a large glass hallway where dozens of people were gathered around a rotating projection of the same golden-feathered bird, now lit with enchanted lights and ornamental ivy.

Jimmy nodded, but turned back to business.

"I'd like to book a training room," he signed.

"Room 15," the receptionist said briskly. "100 T-Coins."

Jimmy tapped his new card on the console. Payment accepted.

Training Room 15 – Tactical Shadows and Clones

The door slid open with a hiss, revealing a padded chamber laced with faint grid lines and glowing targets. The scent of ionized air lingered—someone else had trained hard before them.

"Ready?" Jimmy asked silently.

Luna hovered to the center, tail flicking with anticipation.

Jimmy pulled out his Codex and watched the interface sync to her vitals.

"Let's start simple. Clone Gigantification," he signed.

Luna's body shimmered, then split cleanly into two. This time, her clone was larger, sharper in outline, and more stable than ever before.

"Run simulation—go," he gestured.

Both Luna and her clone darted across the room, weaving effortlessly around the floating dummies. Blue glows trailed behind them like water ribbons.

Jimmy narrowed his eyes. "Now, strategy shift. Clone creates shield. You run beneath."

Luna nodded and adjusted her pace. Her clone shifted ahead, hardened into a glowing water barrier. She tucked in and moved low, slipping under it in a flawless evasion tactic.

"Nice. Now full-force launch from that cover. Target dummy."

Luna's clone broke formation and surged forward, releasing her full energy in a burst—a torrent of glowing pressure slammed into the target, knocking it off its stand.

Jimmy smiled. "Perfect. Energy saturation made that sharp. Now... Aqua Tackle with Zigzag Turn!"

Luna revved up again, gliding back across the chamber. Her body turned to water as she spun and dashed, creating sharp Z-patterns in motion.

Jimmy pointed to the floor. "Split each turn into four clones, scatter them."

Luna attempted it. The first try was rough—two clones fizzled out mid-formation. She panted, her energy briefly dipping.

"Not all of them are using Aqua Charge," Jimmy noted.

She grit her teeth, glowing lightly with determination.

The second time, success.

Four glowing Luna-clones burst from each zigzag turns, each radiating the full Aqua Charge effect. They ran in different directions, creating a confusing display of movement that lit up the room like a water show.

Jimmy grinned, proud. "Good. Now test… Volt Tackle!"

Luna stopped. She stood completely still for nearly nine minutes, letting her core recharge.

Then, with a flash of white-blue energy, she blasted forward, much more speed than 25 m/s. It's good that room is more than 40 m. So, she can turned or stopped there.

A booming crack echoed as she became a blur of light, slamming through the next dummy with enough force to splinter the stand behind it.

Jimmy flinched, shielding his face from the gust. When the smoke cleared, the dummy lay twitching on the floor, blackened at the edges.

Jimmy raised a hand. "Now… practice that. Ten more minutes."

Luna gave a playful salute, then zipped back to the starting line.

......................................

After ten intense minutes of Luna practicing Volt Tackle across the room, Jimmy raised his hand and exhaled.

"Rest now," he signed, wiping sweat from his brow. "We'll move to basic movement and combo training."

Luna returned to his side, panting lightly but clearly glowing with inner energy. She hovered gently down and curled her tail around her, listening intently as Jimmy pulled out his Codex and sat on the mat across from her.

He scrolled through her skill logs:

Jimmy turned the Codex toward Luna. "Look at this line up. You're already a storm and a tide rolled into one."

Luna gave a chirp-like purr, proud.

"Today, we don't chase power. We control it," Jimmy continued, pointing to the list. "We build more combos—techniques that can confuse, trap, or hit harder than brute force alone. Let me explain."

Jimmy looked up and grinned. "Each combo has purpose. Some blind. Some trap. Some hit like a comet. But all of them are tools—and you're the artist."

Luna floated upward, energized again despite the earlier fatigue. Her eyes glimmered like twin waves under moonlight.

Jimmy stood and opened his hand. "Let's begin."

Combo Drills Begin

For the next 3 hours :

Luna fired Water Gun while splitting into clones, blasting targets from three angles.

She zigzagged while leaving a clone behind each turn, each one mimicking her movements until the real Luna dove behind a hologram dummy.

Then she released Water Mist, cloaking the room, before firing Electric Shock, lighting up the fog like a storm.

Her Volt-Aqua combo charged with a glow so bright it made Jimmy shield his eyes. She held it back the first time.

The second time, she released it through a shadow clone, then swerved using Zigzag Turn mid-charge.

Jimmy marked everything, nodding with satisfaction. "Next step," he whispered to himself, "is fusing these instinctively. No more commands." new skill in codex

Luna's ears perked up. Her eyes lit with a hopeful gleam.

"Yeah," Jimmy continued, voice firm. "With a garden. And a private training area. Maybe even a pond. Somewhere we can sleep without noise, wake up to sunshine, and never worry about someone kicking us out."

"Let's go, Luna," he said, eyes shining. "Let's buy the place you deserve."

Luna let out a playful spark from her tail, following him with light steps and a proud heart.

Outside the training room, the city still buzzed—but now, it buzzed behind them. It's covered in night's veil.
