Chapter 60 - Her Name Is Ondinceic

They danced under the storm until time lost all meaning.

The rain, once fierce, eventually softened into a gentle drizzle. Exhausted but smiling, the two companions wandered together to a quiet yard beside the training house. Luna plopped down into the grass, steam lightly rising from her back where her icy mane met the warm night air. Jimmy followed, collapsing beside her, chest still heaving from laughter and awe.

Then, Luna leaned in and licked his cheek—affectionate, proud, overjoyed.

Jimmy laughed, wiping the side of his face with a grin.

But then she froze.

Her golden eyes widened slightly as she looked at her towering legs, her strong neck, her long, glowing tail. She turned to Jimmy, comparing her form with his seated frame—and gasped.

"Oo—onoonn oonnooonnnn… I became bigger! How can I ever sit on your shoulder again!?"

Her voice rang through their mind-link, half panic, half heartbreak. Her tail flicked in distress, accidentally brushing over a nearby flowerpot and knocking it over.

Jimmy chuckled, rising to his feet and giving her a reassuring pat on the chest.

"Don't worry about that now. I'll figure it out. For now... go to sleep, there."

She blinked, wide-eyed, but obeyed. Jimmy quickly turned off the lights in the yard and retrieved the camera—its lens fogged, but the memory card intact, storing every second of their magical storm dance.

Once inside, Jimmy took a warm shower and changed into dry clothes. When he returned, he noticed Luna breathing a little heavily, her body still adjusting to its new state. Quickly, he rummaged through his satchel and pulled out the fresh fruit he had picked earlier. Luna's eyes lit up, and she happily devoured them with her usual enthusiasm.

Jimmy joined her, eating quietly beside her glowing form.

He adjusted the room's temperature controls to a gentle warmth—enough to keep the cold at bay for both of them. Wrapped in a blanket, he curled up beside her, her slow, steady breath lulling him into sleep. The room grew quiet, filled with soft crackling from her mane and the occasional hum of electricity flowing through her veins.

The Next Morning:

Light filtered in through the curtains, golden and warm. Jimmy stirred awake to a soft rustling. Luna was already up, her hooves softly tapping the floor as she paced the room, nudging things here and there with a childlike curiosity.

Jimmy yawned and sat up. She turned to him with a spark in her eyes—both literally and figuratively.

They made quick work of breakfast, and after freshening up, Jimmy led her to the nearby training ground just outside the house. The grass was still wet, the mud soft from last night's storm.

"Alright Luna… let's see what you can really do now."

Luna beamed with excitement.

Jimmy checked in his the Codex, and new details loaded with a faint glow:

Jimmy blinked, amazed. "Triple-element. Water, Ice, and Electric… Incredible."

Without hesitation, Luna formed a shimmering ice ball in her mouth and launched it toward him, playful energy crackling behind her eyes. He caught it with both hands, laughing as the cold numbed his fingers, then lobbed it back.

For the next five minutes, they played like children—ice ball after ice ball flying through the air, crackling and spinning.

Then Luna took a breath and combined her Icy Fang and Icy Wind. A cold jet burst forth from her maw, frosting the training post in seconds. Jimmy stepped back, stunned.

But what happened next surprised him even more.

A faint hum radiated from her horns. An invisible pulse rippled across the training yard. For a fraction of a second, the lights on nearby appliances dimmed. Jimmy's phone flickered.

"Whoa—electromagnetic wave? You can already use that!?"

Luna grinned smugly, sparks dancing in her mane.

She prepared for another move—Rain Call—but Jimmy quickly raised a hand.

"No need! The whole place is already muddy from last night. You'll drown the training dummies!"

Luna giggled, her hooves tapping the ground.

But then, her mood shifted slightly. Her glowing mane lowered just a little as she looked down at Jimmy.

"How can I become small again?"

Jimmy paused, opening his Tamer's App to check. After a few seconds of scrolling, he sighed.

"There is no solution."

Luna's ears drooped. Her majestic tail curled slightly around her hooves.

Jimmy stepped forward and placed a hand gently on her chest.

"Hey, don't worry about it. You don't need to be small. We've got the mind-link. You'll never have to shout to be heard."

Luna nodded softly. A spark of light flashed in her eyes as she pressed her forehead to his in quiet thanks.
