Chapter 25 - Meal

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Alice stepped forward, deflecting every incoming sword with her claws.

The attacks were knocked back, but Alice herself was pushed one step backward, almost bumping into Liam who stood behind her.

These two zombies were the same type as Paul, possessing extremely strong physiques.

Liam couldn't say for sure that he could withstand all eight of their sword slashes.

Quickly, he transformed his right hand into the Stone Dragon Hand while drawing his sword with his left hand.

BANG!

He struck the elderly female zombie's head, sending her flying hard back into the house.

The elderly male zombie then slashed his four large swords downward toward him.

Clang!

Liam blocked with his sword but found himself trembling, staggering backward, and even dropping his sword.

He was somewhat curious about what would happen if he blocked using his left hand. Clearly, this was the result. Had he used his right Stone Dragon Hand, it wouldn't have turned out this way.

Even with a two-level difference, he wouldn't have been shaken.

Shua!

Of course, Alice didn't remain idle, slashing off one of the zombie's arms.

However, the zombie seemed completely unfazed by the loss of its limb.

The elderly female zombie, who had just been sent flying, charged at Liam again, roaring furiously.

"It's easier to fight that previous zombie than these ones," Liam thought.

They weren't Meta Zombies, but each type had its own weaknesses and strengths.

But when comparing, these four-armed zombies were much harder to deal with due to their agility and strength.

Fortunately, Liam had just leveled up, which had boosted his power and granted him additional Mana and Stamina.

Liam maintained his Stone Dragon Hand.

He blocked the old female zombie's attacks with that hand.

Clang! Clang!

Although it was the zombie attacking, she was the one knocked backward, unable to withstand the force of her own swords hitting something so hard.

As she lost balance, Liam landed a powerful punch to her stomach.

BANG!

Crack!

The female zombie was not only thrown back but also had her bones crushed. When she landed, she lay there unable to stand up again.

Liam picked up his sword and charged toward her, plunging the blade into her heart.

"Master, attack!" Alice's voice suddenly rang out.

Apparently, she had kicked the old male zombie toward Liam, causing it to stumble.

It was a perfect opportunity.

Shua!

Liam grabbed the zombie's neck with his Stone Dragon Hand, crushing it until its neck snapped.

That, of course, was as effective as stabbing its heart. The zombie instantly died.

DING!

(You have killed two Level 7 Zombies. You gain 140 Battle Points and 140 System Points!)

(Bonus: Because you killed two zombies three levels above you, you gain an extra 140 Battle Points!)

(Level: 5)

(Battle Points: 330/600)

(System Points: 640)

Liam was quite pleased upon seeing them die, especially as both turned into glowing orbs.

Two items dropped, and he was curious to see what they were.

When the glowing orbs disappeared, two silver spears were revealed.

(Tier 1 Spear!)

Liam received the notification, rolling his eyes. If one was a spear and the other a different weapon, he would've been happier. But both were spears.

"Master, may I use one of these spears?" Alice suddenly asked.

"You can use a spear?" Liam asked back, surprised.

"Yes. As a Meta Zombie, I'm equipped with my claws, but I am fundamentally capable of using any type of weapon," Alice replied.

Hearing that, Liam nodded immediately.

"Go ahead, you may use it."

"Thank you, Master!" Alice then picked up one of the spears.

Of course, she simply carried it in her hands.

Liam finally had time to observe this large house.

Although now messy, the luxurious living room was evident with its massive chandeliers.

His eyes were then drawn to a staircase leading downward.

He walked directly to the stairs, finding a small basement door set into the floor.

This was likely the bunker entrance, or rather, the door above the bunker entrance.

Liam quickly descended the stairs and pulled on the door, which wasn't locked at all.

Sure enough, beneath it was a massive steel door, tightly sealed.

Even knocking on it wouldn't make much noise unless struck very hard—and Liam wasn't yet strong enough to smash steel.

Even with his Stone Dragon Hand, it would take a tremendous blow, and he figured it would still hurt to attempt.

"How do I get in?" he wondered, since the door could likely only be opened from the inside.

"Hello, is anyone down there?" he then shouted at the door, though unsure if his voice could be heard inside the bunker.

He waited several minutes but saw no signs of movement.

"Maybe the people inside are living comfortably with years of food supplies," Liam said to himself.

Of course, bunkers would have been stocked with all sorts of supplies beforehand.

Liam couldn't afford to wait for it to open, so he returned to the living room.

His eyes were drawn to the door leading to the kitchen.

He walked over, finding the kitchen still neat, though dark.

Interestingly, he noticed a meat storage refrigerator containing raw beef and chicken.

The fridge had lost power, but since it had been extremely cold to begin with, much of the ice remained, keeping the meat from fully thawing.

With the fridge sealed tight, it would take a long time for everything to melt.

Since much of it hadn't melted yet, the meat inside still looked fresh.

'I can preserve these by using the Ice Dragon Hand. The ice I create lasts much longer,' Liam thought.

He opened the fridge, transforming his hand into the Ice Dragon Hand.

Whoosh!

He released a burst of cold air into the fridge, refreezing some of the melting ice.

The difference between his ice and the fridge's was that his ice could last much longer.

Liam then checked the adjacent fridge, finding many vegetables and fruits that still looked fresh even though it was no longer cold.

He quickly added his ice to that fridge as well.

Opening the kitchen cabinets, he discovered large quantities of grains and various seasonings.

The gas stove also appeared to be in good condition, and there was a full gas cylinder beside it.

'What I need now is an army to transport all of this,' he thought, since he couldn't store them in his Inventory.

As he considered this, he summoned his red portal and called forth the elderly male and female zombies he had just killed, along with several other zombies.

He assigned them only one task — not to fight — but to carry everything from the kitchen wherever he went.
