Chapter 22 - Chapter 22- The E-rank offer

"Big brother, wait! Don't hurt the nice man," Yue yelled, and Kishio's eyes lost its coldness, he deactivated wither before landing a few feet from the huge man.

The huge man froze up and his brows furrowed in confusion, he turned to look at Kishio and their eyes met each other's gaze, at a glance they could both spot the confusion that lay in the eyes of the other.

"Aheem," the huge man cleared his throat before placing Yue down.

Yue immediately ran to Kishio, grabbing hold of one of his hands as if afraid he would still attack, "Don't hurt the good man, big brother," she said again.

Kishio turned to look at her, his gaze questioning, upon seeing the look on his face she went right to explaining what had happened.

It turned out that after running down this path, she had failed to keep her head up while she sprinted forward, constantly looking behind her to see if Kishio was still on her trail. And that was when it happened, she had failed to notice the well that was right in front of her, she had taken the wrong step falling inside. Hence her scream.

But before she could fall inside completely, the huge man had caught her by her hand and pulled her out, but unfortunately, she had bruised her foot against the concrete edge of the well.

The huge man had decided to help her tend to the bruise she had sustained while he asked her what she was doing there and why she was running.

She had responded saying she was being chased by a man, and had run there to escape. She didn't go into detail, though.

That was why when Kishio appeared, the huge man immediately protected her, no words were spoken, but they both already viewed each other as enemies, the huge man thought Kishio was stalking Yue while Kishio thought he had intentions to harm her. And thus led to the conflicts of moments ago.

"You see? He's a good man. Don't hurt him, big brother." Yue added, after finishing her explanation.

Kishio looked in her eyes, he could see fear, was she afraid of him? Was it because he had used his ability and the aura of death descended upon him? No. Yue shouldn't be able to sense the depth of such powers, unless…Kishio's mind quickly went to the three Yue-sized footprints that led to different places.

Yue was a parasite holder, and the day's event had proved to him that her abilities were already developing, if that's the case then it wouldn't be impossible if she could sense the aura.

Kishio's gaze softened looking at her, he raised his hand and patted her head telling her it was fine. He held her by the hand and turned to walk away, but Yue resisted his pull, refusing to move.

Kishio turned to look at her again, the look in his eyes was suspicious as he wondered what trick she wanted to pull again.

"Apologize." Kishio saw Yue mouth out, she didn't speak, but Kishio could make out what she had said.

He halted his steps contemplating internally, he couldn't afford to keep up such an attitude and expect Yue to learn from them, especially as she saw him as her elder brother. He didn't want to be an elder brother that taught his sister how to fight with strangers and then walk away.

Kishio sighed underneath his breath, and turned to face the man again, before bowing deeply "I apologize for jumping the gun and seeing you as a child abuser.." Kishio apologized, he turned his gaze to Yue and she seemed to be urging him to go on.

"And thank you for saving…" Kishio paused a bit as he thought of a way to refer to Yue, calling her by just her name might hurt her, especially with the way she goes around yelling 'big brother' "my little sister," he completed. Kishio immediately turned around to leave after apologizing.

"A skilled fighter, you are young lad," the man spoke as Kishio walked, his voice sounded gruff and a bit intimidating. "And a mischievous little sister you have," he added with a hearty laughter.

It was obvious after Yue's explanation that she had set up the fight purposely and only ended it when things were about to escalate.

"How about a dungeon raid lad? You're pretty skilled," the huge man suddenly asked.

"I'm not interested." Kishio turned down the offer as quickly as it was brought up.

The man pinched the bridge of his nose, he had expected Kishio's response.

"Twenty thousand." Kishio heard the man say and he couldn't help but drag out his footsteps a bit, that was more than one could rake in from an E-rank dungeon and that was considering the person cleared it solo.

"I'm not interested." He needed money, and yes, he needed it desperately, but his gut feelings didn't just quite sit well with the man.

Yue watched the two negotiating, her eyes fell on Kishio once again expecting him to accept the request.

"If you change your mind, you could meet me at this address…there's but a month to decide though," the man pressed on extending a card to Kishio, but Kishio didn't even turn back to face the man.

"I wouldn't be changing my mind," Kishio remained firm on his words as he continued forward.

Yue suddenly pulled away from Kishio's hand and ran back to the man, stunning Kishio, forcing him to turn back.

She collected the card from the man's hand and ran back to Kishio.

Kishio glanced at the man once again and saw the man smile at him.

"Your little sister agrees, I think you should take the offer."

"What rank is the dungeon?" Kishio finally asked.

"E-ranked," the man replied.

Kishio's eyes twitched.

Twenty thousand gold from an E-rank dungeon.

Kishio didn't believe it…unless.

"What's so special about the dungeon?" Kishio questioned again.

"Search up organ restoring pills," the man didn't directly answer Kishio's, but gave him a reason to reconsider the offer.
