Chapter 8 - Chapter Eight: Not His Night

The evening sky had already turned red. After a while the car then came to a stop. The restaurant looked very fancy, with lights bright that stood out that night. The restaurant spoke million boxes.

Jason then opened the door, stepping and waiting for Chan to follow.

Chan still seated, refused

Chan:

I will wait here, sir. You can go ahead.

Jason sighed looking at Chan

Jason:

No. You're coming.

He said as he gestured for Chan to come out.

Chan still refusing, spoke

Chan:

I'm not coming, sir.

Jason clenched his jaw again, annoyance filling him.

Jason:

Why are you so damn stubborn?

Chan gave Jason an apologetic look

Jason:

Sir, please. I don't wanna come. Just go, you don't want to upset her by keeping her waiting.

Jason sighed, his shoulders slumped.

Jason:

Fine.

He said, giving in once again before he started walking to the restaurant.

Jason spotted Mrs. Joan and went towards her table.

Then, Mrs. Joan spotted him.

Mrs. Joan:

There you are.

She said giving Jason a beautiful smile but Jason wasn't falling for it.

Jason gritted his teeth a little before he composed himself, smiling a slightly sarcastic smile at Mrs. Joan.

Jason:

I'm here

Mrs. Joan:

I've been waiting. Where were you?

She asked while adjusting her dress

A sarcastic comment was at the tip of Jason's tongue, but he held it back.

Jason:

I got late because of another meeting

He replied

Mrs. Joan:

Oh, okay.

She said while staring at Jason with adoration in her eyes, which made Jason uncomfortable.

Jason glanced at the chair beside him before looking back at Mrs. Joan.

Jason:

Can we start eating now?

He asked, clearly not in a mood to have a big conversation. He just wanted to get this over with.

Mrs. Joan:

So did you miss me?

She asked with a mischievous glint in her eyes

Jason sighed tiredly, slightly massaging his right temple.

Jason:

No, I honestly don't.

He answered straightforwardly. He seemed too exhausted to give proper, polite replies.

Mrs. Joan noticed Jason's twitching face

Mrs. Joan:

What's with the attitude? Straighten up a bit, would you?

Jason was already irritated and pissed by Chan and now Mrs. Joan.

He scoffed crossing his arms against his chest.

Jason:

No!

He replied, his eyes narrowed a little as he looked at her.

Mrs. Joan:

Fine. Keep playing hard to get. I like it.

Jason rolled his eyes, annoyed

Jason:

I'm not playing, I genuinely don't want to be here right now.

He said, his voice cold. He was visibly losing his patience.

Mrs. Joan:

Oh! Why?

Jason clenched his jaw again, his left eye visibly twitching.

Jason:

I already told you, it's because you're a pain to deal with.

He muttered

Mrs. Joan:

Whatever. Let's just eat.

He didn't say anything and just nodded waiting for the waiter to come and take their orders.

Chan spotted Jason coming out of the restaurant with Mrs. Joan. He walked her to her car before going towards his own car.

Chan:

Sir you're done.

He said with his arms crossed against his chest while leaning on the SUV.

Jason looked at Chan, annoyance still evident in his eyes.

Jason:

Shut up!

He said.

He glanced at Chan who was staring at him

Jason:

What is it?

Chan:

Nothing, sir. I just wanted to tell you, the SUV is taking you home

Jason:

About damn time.

He said gruffly

Jason entered the SUV not wanting to spend any more time there. Chan followed him. Jason sat as he shut the door a bit harshly, mumbling something under his breath.

The SUV arrived at Jason's private villa. A wide and large house. The house spoke million boxes. Cars were parked out front; sport cars to be exact.

Chan got out of the SUV first

Chan:

Sir, we are here.

Jason huffed, getting out.

Jason:

Thanks.

He said, voice still cold as he shut the door and headed to the entrance of his villa.

Chan:

Ok, sir. I will come early tomorrow to pick you up. We have a meeting by 9am.

Jason turned to Chan

Jason:

Okay get home safely.

He said waving at Chan.

Chan was taken home by Mr. Lamphawot.
