“I have heard that Thisse’s strawberries are a most sought-after delicacy, even in Swane’s famed bakeries,” Chloe remarked.
“Oh my!” exclaimed the clerk. “It seems our Duchess herself has developed a fondness for Thisse’s produce. While some may praise Haineswood’s strawberries, they simply can’t compare to the ones from Thisse!”
Though they had known each other for only a few minutes, Chloe and the clerk found themselves chatting away like old friends. Their lively conversation was only interrupted by the chime of a bell, signaling the entrance of another customer.
“I will take one set of these as well,” Chloe requested, carefully placing her newly purchased stamps in an envelope.
“We’ll soon be releasing commemorative stamps in honor of Your Grace’s wedding. They’re certainly worth looking forward to.”
“Ah…” Chloe stammered, uncertain of how to respond.
