Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3:"TWO WEIRDOS"

CHAPTER 3:"Two weirdos"

_Chapter Begins_

The night sky was adorned with countless bright stars, each one piercing through the darkness above. Down below, the silence of the streets was broken only by the steady sound of rainwater draining into the sewers.

Street lamps lit the way as two figures walked swiftly beneath them — none other than William and Elsa.

"Just a few more minutes of walking and we'll reach it," William said in a voice so quiet it was barely more than a whisper.

Elsa turned her head toward him, tilting it slightly.

"Sorry, what did you say?"

William shut his eyes and clenched his jaw, frustration simmering beneath his skin — not just with Elsa, but with everything: his life, his choices, his pain. Then he snapped like a child losing control.

"I said just a few more minutes and we'll reach our destination!"

Elsa blinked slowly as flecks of spit landed in front of her. She said nothing, just continued staring at William with an unreadable expression.

But William wasn't done.

"Do you want me to write it down for you, so your tiny brain can understand?!"

Still, Elsa didn't flinch. If anything, she seemed lost in thought, completely unaffected by the insults.

Eventually, William exhaled. The fire in his voice dimmed.

"Alright… the park is just around the corner."

That's when Elsa responded — not with volume, but with precision.

"You honestly are the most miserable, lonely, childish person I've ever laid eyes on."

William turned to her, eyes wide — but his shock wasn't from the words themselves. It was the way she said them. Her tone was utterly blank. No anger. No smugness. No amusement. Just cold observation. She might as well have been reading off a list.

After that little exchange of venom, they both continued walking as if nothing had happened. But though they pretended to move on, the emotional aftermath lingered — and how they felt inside couldn't have been more different.

William, ever the mask-wearer, tried to hide his concern behind his usual serious expression — but it wasn't working. His thoughts were swirling. Elsa… she didn't fit. She seemed so out of place, so strange. And that scared him.

Meanwhile, Elsa had already returned to her usual distant and thoughtful demeanor, as if nothing had happened at all.

A few silent steps later, they turned the final corner.

And there it was — the entrance to the park.

"Wow… this is the biggest park I've ever seen," Elsa said, her mouth hanging open.

At the entrance stood a battered sign with the word "PARK" spray-painted in blue across it. Beyond it lay a massive stretch of land: lush green grass, tall trees swaying in the gentle breeze, and — most importantly — benches. Rows of them. Perfect places for the homeless to sleep.

William glanced at Elsa. This time, he didn't bother hiding the shift in his expression. A wide, menacing smile spread across his pale face.

His final thought before stepping into the park was strange.

"I feel a little sorry for what I'm about to do to you… but hey — it's survival of the fittest, right?"

With that, the two stepped past the sign and vanished into the park.
