Chapter 37 - Chapter 36: The Revival of the Omnitrix

Chapter 36: The Revival of the Omnitrix

In the vast halls of the Library of Oa, where echoes of ancient wisdom whispered through the archives, Green Lantern stumbled upon something he never expected.

A forgotten scroll, encoded in ancient Galvanic script, marked with a seal unmistakable to those who knew it… Azmuth's.

It wasn't just a message. It was a contingency plan — written for any civilization facing what he called "dimensional decay."

Azmuth had predicted that what he created might one day spiral beyond control.

Back at the Watchtower, the team gathered around a projection table as Green Lantern activated the holographic scroll.

Azmuth's recorded image appeared, his voice calm but burdened:

> "If you're hearing this, then the Kairos Core has awakened.

I always knew the price would come... but I had no better option."

He paused briefly before continuing:

> "The Omnitrix was never just a DNA-transforming tool.

It was a mechanism to preserve multiversal balance.

I embedded a fragment of Kairos into it to contain his instability... but the core didn't vanish. It fused—with the boy's will."

His eyes shifted to Ben.

> "If you wish to rebuild it, don't rely on the old core.

Use something stronger... pure, unfiltered will."

**

Ben swallowed hard, eyes fixed on the flickering image. Then he glanced at Supergirl.

"So... the Omnitrix worked not just because of the tech… but because of me."

She nodded. "And you still have that."

**

In the lower lab, the reconstruction began.

Green Lantern used his ring to shape the frame.

Supergirl retrieved a shard of pure starlight crystal to stabilize the core.

And Ben — bare-wristed but full-hearted — stepped into the center of the energy ring.

He closed his eyes, focusing on the half-formed device, and whispered:

"I don't want a watch that represents power... I want one that represents choice."

The moment his fingers touched the forming core, a green-blue pulse burst outward.

The components came together as if responding to the beat of his heart — not just his DNA.

**

Hours passed.

In silence, the device finally clicked into place.

It was sleeker, calmer — but alive.

Buzzing not with energy, but with intent.

"Ben?" Supergirl asked softly.

"I'm still me…

Just this time, I chose to be."

**

Far away — somewhere deep within the crystal dimension —

Kairos opened his eyes. Slowly, he looked toward a sky cracking with instability.

> "His heart creates what the core cannot.

But even hearts… can be broken."
