Chapter 8 - Shin Chul

He chuckled which I only squinted my eyes in surprise. And glared at me with his terrifying widened eyes. "You know. I was always wondering if we could even have a fight like this someday, but I also thought that's impossible because that time you're just too weak to face me!"

He tried a side jab to my right cheek but his flame-covered fist didn't even hit me when a magnetic field blocked it. Even his fingers are almost broken due its severity.

Hit his stomach with my fast knee, making him gasp by its impact. He bended forward which I greeted by headbutting his face, burying his head on the wall by the impact.

He could barely stand straight. Minds already fading out of his body. But his spirit's still strong as a desperate lion by torching his own skin before kicking me to my stomach.

I flew back after that bone-crushing hit, not to mention its burning sensation along with it. Unfortunately, keeping the magnetic field active while fighting against him are just too much to handle.

With his own flaming body, he threw fires toward me, making me ran sideways without losing contact of his position. He never stops following me. Fireballs exploded as soon as it touched surface, leaving them either burned or crack. Until our distances with each other got shorter, and we both clashed with punches and kicks in the end.

These explosive clash are fiery and leaving burn marks all over the place. I almost couldn't keep up, not until I kicked him by his stomach pinning him against the wall.

I then quickly pulled the air, carrying him toward me in such speed, before greeting his face with a jaw-breaking punch. His body rotated midair and drops on the warm floor terribly.

I tried to grab him by his neck but he tripped my ankle. I dropped beside him. Right before we returned punches each other again, the ceiling cracked and drops on us. And instantly made us roll away from each other before it crashes on us.

With the clear view above us, he positioned his feet widely apart, bent for a split second before disappearing from my sight. Is he escaping? No. He's luring me out!

So I followed him. The smokes grew thicker by the second and the mansion's burning and collapsing directly below us. Right then, I saw Nolan by the entrance door almost outside.

"We need to stop this pointless fight, Nolan, let's just talk!" I still tried to persuade him to stop.

"Are you crazy?" he chuckled like he just heard a tickling joke out of nowhere, "I know you. You will tell everybody from the Hero Agency especially that friend of yours on one of the sits about me. So wether you like it or not you're gonna die here, Mr. Valentine."

"You're wrong. I'll never tell anyone. I don't have the proof to based the things that I saw and heard here. Just like you, I'm only here for that hard-drive alone. And we both know we don't want this secret of us getting out in the open."

He pressed his nape hard. Sighing in frustration before pointing at me with his fire spear. "No. I still won't believe you."

"What do you want me to do just so you could believe me, then?!" Seriously, what's wrong with him being so hard-headed?

"I want you to die. That's when I'll believe you."

"That's absurd. I can't just die here because you ordered me to?"

He returned to his fighting stance, "Now you understand how pointless this conversation is."

Like lightning, he throws the fire spear at me with so much precision and speed. With all my strength, I deflected that attack in exchange for a powerful shockwave around me.

"Don't tests me, Nolan. You need to understand the situation more clearly."

He appeared right behind me, with another fire spear on hand. "I don't need to. Keeping you alive will be my gravest mistake so I need to do what I think is right, and that's never gonna change by your useless words!" He swung the fire spear toward my neck. I ducked on time before trying to kicked his body from the turn.

But he disappeared right off the bat. Appeared again behind me and swung the burning spear a second time. But this time, it gained more speed than the first. He almost succeeded, if I didn't catch that very blade by my hand—which is covered by magnetic field. Kicked him by his knee and he loses his balance, another kick hits him straight to his face.

The ground cracked tremendously by the thundering impact. Nolan's face got distorted in a split second before flying backward and hits the wall with another crack.

Despite all of the damages he received, he still tried to crawl the air to stand. Half of his body was already lifeless. Like a portrait tilted by its one side. Vomited some blood and his once handsome and dependable face, now looked monstrous, tired, and scared.

His eyes, once shining with justice and love. Now, looked powerless and blank like the ashes of gray. Despite his condition, he still pulled the courage to smile.

And before I could even notice, a shadow of a man behind me, raised a pistol just a level to his eyesight. A dark grin on his face. Before pulling the trigger simultaneously toward Nolan's direction.

The first bullet hits him in the eye before the head and body. He almost looked like dancing with the beat of the leads, crushing and breaking his entire bones and muscle. Until he stops moving when the pistols out of bullet.

I still couldn't move from the shock.

As Nolan's body drops on the ground, soaking wet in his own blood. Before turning my body completely to the man behind me.

Who is none other than Shin Chul himself.
