Chapter 9 - Unknown

"So what do we do now?" The monkey tapped on me to bring me back to reality.

"I really don't know, but what I know is that there's something wrong going on." I walked out of the restricted area.

"And I have to find out before Alden is given the title." I continued and changed into my wolf self.

"It's really cool how you wolves change." The silly monkey giggled which annoyed me.

"I need to go see the witch at Lia mountain. Want to tag along?" I said as I had already began running.

Surprisingly it was able to match my speed as it climbed trees to catch up with me or…rather race me.

"Race you there…" it chuckled and swing through the trees like a ninja.

"Wow ." I couldn't help but admit, it was good.

A really skillful monkey.

"Hey, monkey, wait up." I increased my pace and soon enough we reached Lia mountain.

"Have you forgotten?" The monkey stopped me as I tried to go into the cave up on the mountain.

"Oh..sorry." Many confirmed that the witch was one who hated visitors, so you would have to call out on her from a far distance as she always had poisonous portions with her and her trustee Dragon.

"Mother Witch, we have come to see you." I said and the monkey gave me a reassured look with a nod as it held my hand.

Sure enough the dragon popped out with a roar and the witch walked out mystically with a green smoke and some portions with her.

"How may I help you little creatures today, a portion of a piece of advice not to come disturb the mother Witch." She said with an evil chuckled as she seemed angry.

The dragon launched at us and so did she.

"Wait, mother Witch, I just need your help. I'm from Cridwan." I said before she couldn't reach us.

"Uh.. Cridwan you say?" She stopped and so did the dragon.

"Yes, mother. I really need your help and I can sell my soul just to make it right." I blurted out not actually understanding my words myself.

"You shouldn't say what you can't do young wolf." She turned around and the scary large dragon went back in.

"Come in.." she said as she stood in front of the entrance of the cave. "And your little friend too.." she turned to the monkey and we followed into the cave.

The cave was filled with shelves containing portions, shells, beads and more and it indeed gave the vibe of a really gothic home.

Candles, bumpkins, bats and even cats were everywhere.

"So you say you need this old witches help?" She said and continued to stir her portion.

Apparently she had been busy on that before we came.

"So sorry if we disturb you but I need a way to help Cridwan. The rightful leader is missing." I explained to her.

"Are you sure?" She giggled and her words made me think for a moment.

Liam must have truly escaped….

"You ask like you don't know who you are mated to anymore." She danced her way to a shelve and took out a container containing some slimy stuff that I had never seen before.

She poured all the contents into the portion she was mixing and it popped up a blue smoke.

"Can you help me please, old witch. Cridwan is in danger." I pleaded but she began to hum a song.

I sighed and turned to the monkey and it seemed to be at peace.

"What should we do now, I don't think she will listen to us." It turned to me with a smile and my words seemed to go into his ear and go out of the other.

I sighed again and a mirror suddenly appeared in front of me.

"Cridwan is indeed in danger. And you are not in the position to stop it from drowning. You will have to find that mate of yours and only he can do the needful." She said as a reflection of Liam was shown to me in the mirror.

I cursed inwardly...

Although I was aware of how true it was, I still didn't believe that I and Liam were mates as we never showed any attraction towards each other except from the time we were friends – and just friends..

We had noticed our bond when we started feeling each other's feelings but still we didn't want to accept it.

Most especially Liam…

He practically despised me now.

"And until you find your inner self can you find your true identity." She continued as she continued to stir the portion with a long stick.

Before I could process her words in my head a sudden force pulled me into a room filled with dark mystic fog and the doors were locked up. I was caught up on the chair I sat on and I noticed an uneasy movement in my body.

I felt like something was about to explode out of me but I couldn't put a finger on what exactly it was.

The same mirror suddenly appeared in front of me and I saw myself uncomfortably moving to free myself from the chains.

Plus my head hurts so much as though the hottest volcano was about to erupt in my head.

She held my head with both hands as the sounds in my head were becoming to intense for me to handle.

The load was too heavy for me to carry and I pushed my head backwards only to fall into a trance.

I saw Liam..

When we were younger..

I could remember…

How blissful we played..

Like two soulmates indeed..

However..

I could feel something strange coming, and he felt it too.

I saw both of us, when we were little and I could only watch.

Suddenly the storm began..

I could remember that day..

I wasn't affected due to the fact that I was just seeing a record of it, but our younger selves were.

We rushed to head down the mountain but the wind was too strong and I would fall on every occasion, but Liam would come back to carry me.

We had only gotten attracted to each other because of the fact that we both couldn't change to our wolf selves at that time and we're often bullied by the those who could.

Once again I fell, but this time I felt an unknown feeling, the same one I felt earlier before deviating into this trance.

I saw my young self glowing…

My hair turning white and my eyes…

Just like the moon..

I could remember how Liam at stared at me that day, and I could see his expression once again here.

I halted..

What could this mean?

In the mid of trance I suddenly came back to reality.

My hands turned cold but my body felt so hot.

I got back into my body with a huge force that pushed me forward to the extent that I nearly fell, if not for the chains that connected me to the chair.

As I looked up I saw my white hair slowly changing to it's normal human hair color and my moon eyes slowly changing back to it's deep sun color.

"Does this mean that I am connected to the moon goddess? Like her daughter?" I felt like asking.

"Oh silly little wolf, you are indeed so little to know somethings at your age." The witch said as I was rolled out of the room and back to where the witch was again by the magic chair.

"I'm actually five hundred years old, Mother Witch." I said to her.

The monkey climbed on me as the chains slowly took off themselves from my hands and legs.

"Why was I tied?" I asked as I watched her.

"So you won't try to escape. You know you wolves can be so aggressive." She said almost immediately as though she had been waiting patiently for my question.

'Wait aggressive?'

"Speak of aggressive, demons plus werewolves are even more aggressive." I said clearly referring to Liam.

She laughed like the witch she was and turned to me with a witchy smile.

"So you believe that your mate is a half demon half werewolf, huh?" She laughed yet again.

Isn't he?

I could only ask myself, but then I turned to her with all the courage I could utter.

"Isn't he? I was told he was evil just like demons." Truly I had been told that severally by some other wolves and, Alden.

But I mostly felt that Alden was just the one spreading the false news.

"He is a very rare creature, not a werewolf, nor a demon. But yes he was born by two werewolves. And yes he is an ancient soul, you may call him an Immortal, but he is more than that." She said and I once again couldn't understand her words.

"You don't understand?" She asked just like she had read my mind.

I nodded but I didn't realize that I would fall into another trance.

Yet again, I got locked in the room with the heavy fog and my hands and legs were chained too.

The old days of the werewolves were shown to me – more than twenty thousand years ago.

I could see some creatures I had never seen before, mixed with werewolves as the moved and worked together.

But then I suddenly saw a storm approaching. The other creatures who seemed more powerful and nothing like werewolves nor demons stood firm to fight it, but I saw the werewolves running back like scared little wolves.

The other creatures stood firm to fight the upcoming storm not knowing that they have been betrayed by the ones they fought for and it do happened that the storm swallowed them all.

The trance ended and I was rolled back into the witch's lair yet again.

"What was that?" I asked still in a daze.

"Don't you know the meaning of inner mind revelations? It's a spiritual means of communication without speaking." She continued to stir her portion.

"What were those creatures? And who are they?" I asked in curiosity as I couldn't really understand the features they had. It was probably because I had never seen sure creatures before.

"They are not just any type of creatures, they went extinct at that time, but one has come back again now." She smiled sheeply.

"Does that mean that Liam is one?" I asked. It was now a lot clearer to me.

"Exactly!" She nodded. "You finally get something correctly, little wolf."

"He is one of those creatures. A Dygin." She added.

She stirred the large pot of portion continuously and a fog suddenly appeared which showed the diagrams of the weird creatures I had seen in the trance.

"Those..they are Dygins. They are not imposters nor immortals but they are indeed mystical and powerful."

"But now only one soul exists, if he is killed his soul will go with him." She said.

"But I thought you said they all died in the storm?" I was getting confused.

"Yes, but we'll never know what really happened, after all the werewolves all ran off." She shrugged and continued her work.

The fog flew away..

"I'm really fed up, Mother Witch." I cried. "I really don't know what to do."

"Go my child, go and find him. Do not try to fight it yourself for you will only get Cridwan into more trouble." She replied.

I turned to the monkey and it nodded to me, then we walked hand in hand out of the witch's lair and off the mountain, Lia.

Everything seemed so overwhelming to me and there was one thing I know vividly, It will all still remain unknown.

But probably not until Liam is back…
