Chapter 10 - The Departure :

Chapter 9 (Regis POV): The Departure

I stood outside the castle gates with Hector and Clavis at my sides, wearing a sharp dark outfit with military cuts—formal but ready for combat. A king should at least look like he has control, even if he doesn't.

Then came her.

Faye walked out like a goddess, her long pink hair pulled into a neat ponytail, wearing a royal blue top with matching blue pants—something modern, clean, elegant. It matched her bright blue eyes perfectly.

For a second—just a second—I forgot how to breathe. My heart clenched. My jaw might've dropped a little. Beautiful didn't even cover it.

Then—of course—they ruined it.

Bom and Bob arrived next.

Shorts. T-shirts. Colorful. Bright reds, greens, yellows. They looked like they were going to the beach, not on a deadly royal expedition.

And they were walking weird—Bom with that "I'm more handsome than the sun" strut, and Bob just… walking like Bob.

I sighed. "What… the hell… are you wearing?"

Bob grinned. "Family trip outfit. You like it?"

Before I could murder him, Hector snapped, stepping forward. "Bob, I swear, you're starting to test my patience. Who's your king? Bom or Regis?"

He got right in Bob's face. Clavis, ever the referee of this ridiculous circus, stepped between them, pushing them apart.

Perfect start for a deadly adventure. Exactly what I wanted.

And while they were arguing, guess what Bom was doing?

Yep. Flirting with Faye.

I turned just in time to hear him whistle softly. "Wow, Faye. You look gorgeous today." He even reached out and gently touched her ponytail.

She blushed. Actually blushed.

I stormed over, sliding myself right between them. "Bom. Stop. Now."

Bom raised his hands innocently. "Okay, okay. Relax, Your Majesty. Let's focus. Besides, what about them?"

I glanced back at the other three—and now Bob was actively trying to shove Clavis out of the way to fight Hector, while Clavis was holding them apart with both arms like some kind of fed-up older brother at a family reunion.

"Bom," I growled. "Use your levitation thing."

He smirked and walked over, grabbing Hector by one hand and Bob by the other. With a flick of his wrists—wham—both of them dropped to the ground in awkward, stunned heaps.

"Happy now?" Bom said, dusting his hands.

I was done. "Stop acting like children. We're leaving. And we need to be out before sundown."

Faye tilted her head, curious. "Why before nightfall? Because of the monsters?"

I nodded. "Exactly."

Bom popped his head around me. "Wait—did you remember to feed her raw meat?"

I shot him a glare. "Of course. She's fine."

Bom didn't look convinced. He bit his lip. "Uh… you do know it's not just hunger that triggers her transformations, right?"

"What?" I hissed.

"Yeah," he said, scratching his head. "Fear. Excitement. Happiness. Anger. Especially anger."

I screamed his name so loud I'm pretty sure all of Regsialand heard me.

"BOMMMMMMMM!"

He just smiled. "Relax, Your Majesty. What's the worst that could happen?"

I don't know.

But I had a feeling I was about to find out.

And I'm going to absolutely hate it !
