Chapter 12 - A Persona is a Good Thing

In the morning, Kotetsu Hagane quickly got up, washed, ate breakfast, and rushed to school.

"You got up quite early today, why the rush?" his mother asked, puzzled.

"Of course, it's to get to school early and study," Kotetsu replied without looking back.

This was just a lie to appease his mother. While Kotetsu didn't hate school, he wasn't particularly fond of it either, as not all teachers were as engaging and fun as Muyue.

The real reason Kotetsu was eager to go to school was his urgent desire to know if his good friend, Izumo Kamizuki, had taken the first step in his romantic pursuit.

He had given Izumo advice on Thursday, but on Friday, Izumo said he didn't dare to act and needed to "brew" it a bit longer.

Kotetsu figured two days over the weekend should be enough for him to brew something.

When Kotetsu arrived at the classroom, there weren't many people yet, and Izumo hadn't arrived either.

However, Izumo didn't make him wait long. After about seven or eight minutes, he saw Izumo walk in listlessly.

"Izumo, did you not sleep well last night?" Kotetsu asked, puzzled.

Izumo shook his head.

"Did you give her the flowers over the weekend?" Kotetsu asked eagerly.

"Sigh, don't even mention it." Hearing Kotetsu's words, Izumo's expression became even more dejected.

"She wasn't looking at our family's flower bed because she liked flowers, but because she has pollen allergies and was worried the pollen would blow over," Izumo explained.

Kotetsu was silent for a moment after hearing this news, then asked, "So, did you give her the flowers?"

Izumo didn't answer Kotetsu's question, but his silence and mournful expression silently confirmed it.

Kotetsu patted Izumo's shoulder in comfort: "It's okay, I remember a girl who plays with Mie cute. How about we meet up sometime and get to know her?"

"That would be great, Brother Tetsu," Izumo said, his gloomy mood instantly dispelled, a smile spreading across his face.

"I also thought of a brilliant plan this weekend to help you deal with your cousin."

"That's fantastic! Quickly, tell me what this brilliant plan is," Kotetsu urged.

"Class begins!"

Muyue's voice entered their ears, and only then did they realize class had already started. They had been so engrossed in their conversation that they hadn't noticed the bell.

So, the two quickly sat up straight and began to listen attentively. After two days without Muyue's class, they actually missed it.

Muyue didn't disappoint them. The class was relaxed and enjoyable, and before they knew it, much knowledge had been added to their minds.

[Reward gained: Water Release: Water Severing Wave]

Seeing that the reward was Water Severing Wave, Muyue's eyes immediately lit up. This ninjutsu was not simple.

This was a Water Release jutsu developed by the Second Hokage, capable of spewing a high-pressure, linear stream of water with astonishing power, even able to cut through the roots of the God Tree.

Muyue was in a very good mood after this acquisition, and then another good thing immediately happened.

"Teacher Muyue, I recall you don't have class this afternoon. Could you please cover for me? I have a ninjutsu class with Class 4, Section 2 this afternoon."

In the office, Ikeya Yu approached Muyue, hoping Muyue could cover his class again.

"Covering the class is no problem, Teacher Ikeya, are you feeling unwell?" Although he was happy to get another reward, he still needed to maintain his persona, so Muyue asked with a concerned expression.

"I'm fine, thank you for your concern, Teacher Hanyu." Ikeya Yu first thanked Muyue, then explained: "It's about the woman from the blind date; I've arranged to go out with her this afternoon."

"Then why didn't you pick a time when you didn't have many classes?" Aya Ueda complained.

"I wanted to, but she said she's only free this afternoon," Ikeya Yu said. If he had a choice, he wouldn't want to trouble Muyue, as Muyue was too kind, and he felt bad making him suffer a loss.

Aya Ueda was already too lazy to say anything to Ikeya Yu. She genuinely felt that he and his blind date wouldn't have a good outcome.

Because if the other person was truly interested, they would also consider Ikeya Yu and not make him trouble his colleagues.

"Then good luck, Teacher Ikeya," Muyue said with a smile, thinking that being busy was good, it allowed him to accumulate more rewards.

"Thank you so much, Teacher Hanyu. If it works out, I'll treat you to the most expensive restaurant in Konoha," Ikeya Yu said gratefully, then hurriedly left the office. He needed to go home and change his clothes to tidy himself up.

"I told you last time, didn't I, Teacher Hanyu? If you're like this, people will always ask you to cover their classes whenever they're busy," Aya Ueda sighed.

"Helping others is a joy. Colleagues should help each other," Muyue said with a serious expression.

"You're just too kind. You'll easily be taken advantage of," Aya Ueda lamented.

Muyue smiled and said nothing, beginning to practice calligraphy.

Watching Muyue's serious expression while practicing calligraphy, Aya Ueda couldn't help but feel how vast the difference between people was. If Ikeya Yu were even a quarter as excellent as Muyue, he wouldn't have gone his entire life without a relationship.

When he felt the time was right, Muyue stopped writing, tidied his desk, and headed to Class 4, Section 2 for their lesson.

Just as Muyue arrived at the classroom door, the bell rang.

"Teacher Ikeya has an engagement, so I will be covering this afternoon's ninjutsu class," Muyue explained as he walked up.

He scanned the classroom; everyone was there except for Obito.

About three minutes into class, Obito hastily ran into the classroom and was stunned when he saw Muyue on the podium.

I ran too fast, and actually saw Teacher Muyue in my class. This was Obito's thought at that moment.

For a moment, he even suspected he had entered the wrong classroom, but seeing his familiar classmates, it was clear he hadn't.

Obito didn't bother resting and quickly started to explain: "Teacher Muyue, I wasn't intentionally late; I ran into..."

"Ran into an old lady and helped her, wasting time." Before Obito could finish, someone in the class helped him complete the sentence, causing a burst of laughter.

"I'm serious! If I knew Teacher Muyue was teaching this afternoon, I definitely would have come half an hour early," Obito continued to explain.

He was afraid Muyue would think he wasn't studying well and stop teaching him.

"Go back to your seat," Muyue nodded, acknowledging Obito's explanation, then added: "You shouldn't be late for Teacher Ikeya's class either."

Ninjutsu classes at the Ninja Academy started from the first year, but only taught three ninjutsu: Transformation Jutsu, Clone Jutsu, and Substitution Jutsu.

While only learning a few basic ninjutsu over several years might seem like a waste of time, it was actually quite reasonable, as geniuses like Shisui were ultimately rare.

For those whose ninja goal was merely to become a Chunin, mastering these three ninjutsu was not easy, and there were other courses as well.

Although they had taken countless lessons on the Three Body Technique, Muyue's ninjutsu class still made their eyes light up.

"So that's how it is! No wonder my clones never looked like the original body before," one student made progress on the spot.

"I really hope Teacher Ikeya has more engagements in the future, so we can have more of Teacher Muyue's classes," a student said, jokingly expressing their inner thoughts.

Those around him also voiced their agreement.

Muyue didn't comment on this, merely inwardly sighing at how good the system's skills were.

[Reward gained: Lightning Release: Lightning Clone]

Muyue's mind was instantly filled with Lightning Release nature transformation techniques and various experiences with Lightning Release: Shadow Clone.

Although it wasn't a particularly strong ninjutsu, Muyue felt it was quite good to have unlocked another chakra nature, especially since he had already gotten a good reward that morning.

For the next half month, Muyue maintained this rhythm: if no one asked him to cover a class, he would research ninjutsu theory in the office; if someone needed coverage, he would accept without hesitation; at home, he would teach Shisui and Obito, and cultivate his own chakra.

Perhaps because the quality of his substitute teaching was too good, all the students he taught wanted him to come back. Coupled with Muyue's good rapport with the other teachers, Muyue quickly became a well-known teacher at the Ninja Academy.

The students all felt that Muyue was a perfect teacher: engaging in class, gentle, and handsome.

The other teachers also felt that Muyue was a sincere and kind colleague.

As the center of attention, Muyue didn't have many thoughts; he had simply established the persona he wanted to portray. Now, he was guessing why the masked ninja standing in his yard had come.
